Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Synagogue Church Building Collapse: 45 Year Old Woman Walks out of Rubble Alive |
on: 16-09-2014 04:19 PM
| Lagos (NAN) A 45-year-old-woman on Tuesday walked out alive from the rubble of the collapsed building at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Ikotun, Lagos, a rescue worker has said. The building collapsed on Friday. Ibrahim Farinloye, the Public Relations Officer of the National Emergency Management Agency, South-West Zone, told journalists in Lagos that the woman walked out on her own at 2 a.m. Farinloye did not give the identity of the woman. He said that death toll from the building collapse had increased to 59. As at Monday, the death toll was 49. Farinloye said that 131 persons had been rescued alive. “A woman of about 45 years old walked out of the rubbles on her own around 2 a.m today, while 10 more bodies were recovered, leaving 59 dead and 131 rescued alive,” Farinloye said. He said that the rescue workers were likely to recover more bodies. The emergency responders at the scene of the collapsed building on Tuesday deployed three police sniffer dogs to help to locate trapped victims. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, had on Monday approved the use of the sniffer dogs for the rescue operation. Vehicles conveying the dogs to the scene reportedly broke down on its way. Farinloye said that the rescue exercise might be concluded on Tuesday. The police and other security agencies are still on ground to ensure safety of lives and property. The collapsed six-storey building, said to be a guest house for worshipers at the church, collapsed at about 1 p.m. The Pastor of the church, Temitope Joshua, attributed the collapse to a ‘mystery’ aircraft, which he said, hovered around the building for about 30 minutes before the collapse. Forum / The Buzz Central / 5 Things I've Learnt From Don Jazzy - Dr Sid |
on: 16-09-2014 08:04 AM
| Dr SID had quite a few things to say about Don Jazzy - read up and learn.. Mavin Records crew member Dr Sid shared some of the things he has learnt from label boss and friend Don Jazzy over the years in a recent interview. Don't rush Don Jazzy, don't rush creativity. It'll come when its needed because if you rush it you may come out with content that is not up to par. Strive for perfection. Be your biggest critic, when everyone is telling you you're the shit, tell yourself “you can be better”. Don't believe the hype. See, because everyone is going to be gassing you as an individual. Listen. Surround yourself with people who will tell you the truth. I like to say surround yourself with ‘no’ men, those who will question your authority. Care for people around you and your subordinates. No man is an island, if you take care of people who take care of you, its a cycle which leads to success. Click here for more | | |

Forum / The Buzz Central / Whoop! Wizkid's baby mama, Oluwanishola Ogudugu finds love again (photos) |
on: 16-10-2013 03:26 PM
| Months ago, a young lady sent bloggers a photo of herself and a small boy claiming to be Wizkid’s baby mama but not many people took her serious. Well, her story must have been true as the boy in her photo is same as the one Wizkid shared on IG page yesterday Here . So I carried my investigation and found that Wizkid's baby mama Oluwanishola Ogudugu (who is fondly called Sola by family and friends) regularly updates her Facebook account with her son looking pretty happy too. She was a student of the Houdegbe North American university, Cotonou, Benin Republic and was listed as one of the most popular girls on Campus by The Dynamix Youth awards 2009. Sola however seems to have moved on romantically; her last photo update is a collage photo of herself and a young man cuddling up. Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Chief Godwin Okeke Of GUO Motors Escapes Death By Assassination In Onitsha |
on: 16-10-2013 12:07 PM
| Just 48 hours after operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) killed six suspected kidnappers in Ihiala Council Area of Anambra State, a business magnate and transporter, Chief Godwin Okeke (GUO motors) escaped death by the whiskers yesterday when gunmen suspected to be hired assassins attacked his car. The attack occurred barely one month after the owner of the Young Shall Grow Motors, Chief Vincent Obianodo escaped suspected assasins’s bullets in Festac Area of Lagos. Okeke escaped death miraculously within his residence at Government Reserved Area (GRA), Onitsha, while he was returning from work at about 6.45 pm when the gunmen trailed his car to the gate of his home. Though the business magnate was not hurt, it was gathered that after he came in, one of the drivers in his convoy went out with a black Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with Reg. No ME70AAA, and the assailants trailed him and opened fire on the car. Speaking to Daily Sun, Okeke said he had come back about 10 minutes earlier and sent his driver on an errand with the car and on his way back, gunmen operating in a Toyota Siena car trailed him to his gate and opened fire on the vehicle. His words: “I came back yesterday about 10 minutes earlier and I sent my driver to go and buy something. Shortly after that, we began to hear terrifying gunshots in front of the gate. “It was when the assailants trailed the car, thinking that I was inside; they first opened fire at the windscreen, directing it at the front seat where they thought a security man was sitting. “They shattered the windscreen, shot again at the driver and the bullets miraculously missed his forehead and just scratched his head and the bullets also hit his hand.” “They also shattered the tyres of the vehicle and riddled the whole vehicle with over 60 bullets. The operation was a very brief one because it lasted for about five minutes. “The assailants came purposely to eliminate me because within the last few months, I have been receiving threats from various criminal gangs, ordering me to leave Onitsha and Anambra State completely. “But I told them that nobody can force me out of Onitsha or Anambra State. They probably thought I was inside the car because when they forced the door open, they were asking where is Oga?, before they left.” Click here to Visit Nigeria's Finest Celebrity News Source...Breaking News/Gists | | |

Forum / The Buzz Central / Why I always sing about the story of my life >> Olamide |
on: 13-10-2013 08:53 AM
| Everybody knows my story or let me say I try to let people know my story with the way I sing so that you won’t come and tell me tomorrow or the people that you did or that for me when I was this or that. When I compose my songs, I always try to bring my rough days into retrospect. I remember how I waited many years for my single to be promoted. I was always told to wait. When I couldn’t wait anymore, I had to look for another way round it. A lot of people turned me down because they didn’t believe in me. I have nothing against them because that’s life for you. Everybody can’t believe in your dream, even if it is the most beautiful one. Today, it is practically difficult for anybody to come out and say what I had already said about myself in most of my songs. Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Man Hacks Off Infected Leg With A Saw Because He Could Not Afford Hospital bills |
on: 13-10-2013 05:54 AM
| A man hacked off his own leg using only a metal saw, a small fruit knife and a back scratcher wrapped with a towel because he couldn’t afford hospital bills. 47-year-old Zheng Yanliang, from Boading city, China, began to experience bouts of pain in his abdomen that traveled to both of his legs. He was diagnosed with massive arterial thrombosis in both legs. As the pain worsened, he decided to remove the infected limb himself using a metal saw, a small fruit knife and a back scratcher wrapped with a towel towel because he couldn’t afford hospital bills. According to Shanghaiist.com, doctors told Mr Yanliang the disease was very rarely seen, and he wasn’t likely to live more than a month. For three months, Mr Yanliang was tormented by pain to the point of fuzzy consciousness, screaming so loud that his neighbors could not sleep. ‘It was very painful and they gave me medication but it didn’t help. Sometimes the pain was so intense I would pass out, then after three months when it was really bad, they told me that an infection had set in, that I had gangrene, and that I might lose the limb. Ideally I needed it to be operated on, but I could not afford it. They just gave me medication. They sent me home to die. One night, after his wife had gone to bed, Mr Yanliang found a fruit knife, a metal saw and a towel-wrapped back scratcher and began amputating his own leg. Fortunately, because of the thrombosis, there wasn’t much blood during the amputation. The operation saved his life, but now the open wound that still shows a stump of bone has led to a fresh infection, this time in his left leg. His wife suffers diabetes and heart disease. The family’s only financial support comes from their 17-year-old daughter, who dropped out of school to take a job. More Pictures Below/After The Cut...........
