The Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah , on Tuesday berated a former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Fani-Kayode, on his utterances on the sector, asking him to bow his head in shame.  She said the ex-minister’s comments on the aviation sector were capable of misleading the public.

Oduah said: “When you see ignorant people in particular, I have sympathy for them. Over the weekend, popular Afrobeat singer, Femi Kuti caused a scene that attracted a large crowd when he sought help to fish out a lizard that entered his car via the dashboard on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

Femi Kuti narrated his ordeal jokingly at MUSON Center’s pre-event news briefing. The Afrobeat King said he was horrified by the event.

He said a lizard appeared all of a sudden, from the dashboard of the car, while he was at top speed, starring at him snappily before ducking away.

In no time, the search party increased around the Black Prado Jeep. Perhaps then, it dawned on the musician, how seriously he had painted the scenario. The crowd, including his colleague, Yinka Davies begun to get amused, and Kuti, tried to make a joke of the situation.

A former Korean model addicted to plastic surgery injected cooking oil into her face when doctors refused to perform any more cosmetic operations on her.  Hang Mioku, now about 50 years old, has been left with a badly disfigured face following her desperate attempt to attain softer and smoother skin.

Mioku had her first plastic surgery when she was 28 years old, and soon became obsessed. She moved to Japan to pursue her career and underwent several more bouts of surgery, Mail Online reports.

However, after undergoing repeated operations to enhance her looks, doctors refused to provide her with any more silicone injections when her face became noticeably enlarged. A desperate Mioku then injected an entire bottle of black market silicone into her face and finally decided to inject cooking oil, leaving her cheeks and forehead severely swollen and scarred.

Following the do-it-yourself beauty treatment, Mioku was left so disfigured that her own parents could not recognize her. When doctors analysed her, it was confirmed she was suffering from a psychological disorder.

15  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / 20 killed in fresh B’Haram attack on: 7-10-2013 09:43 AM

At least 20 people were killed when Islamist group Boko Haram attacked a town in northeast Nigeria, triggering clashes with troops stationed there, the military said on Sunday.

Reuters reported that a spokesman for Nigerian forces in northeastern Borno State, which lies at the heart of a four-year-old Islamist insurgency, said the Islamists crept into the town of Damboa in the early hours of Saturday.

They killed five worshippers at a mosque as they said their morning prayers, he said. “While they were unleashing their mayhem, troops … engaged the terrorists, killing 15 in the process while others fled,” the military spokesman, Captain Aliyu Danja, said in a statement obtained by Reuters.

The military often gives significantly higher casualty figures for insurgents than for its own men, and it is usually not possible to verify them independently.

Despite a concerted military offensive meant to crush Boko Haram since May, it remains the biggest security threat to Africa’s top energy producer.

Its targets have traditionally been security forces, Christians or Muslim clerics who speak out against it, but its fighters have increasingly turned their sights on civilians in the past few months – massacring hundreds in roadside attacks or assaults on Western-style schools they consider sacrilegious.

Nigerian fighter jets last week bombed camps belonging to suspected Islamist militants in northeast Nigeria in response to a massacre of students at an agricultural college that killed at least 41.

Please you need read this one. New couple for that matter and partners in crime too.

This happened in UK, while the couple took a lot more than the complimentary shampoo bottles during a recent stay at a luxury five-star hotel in South Wales. Laura and Christopher Barnett were staying at the Morgans Hotel for Christopher’s birthday, six months after tying the knot.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple allegedly stole almost everything from their room including the Egyptian cotton sheets, pillows, paintings and even the flatscreen TV.

But the would-be criminals didn’t get away with it. The staff grew suspicious when the Barnetts tried to argue their way out of a pay-per-view movie by saying their room didn’t have a TV. When one staffer went in to check the room, he found it stri*ped completely bare.

The Barnetts eventually confessed to the crime. Christopher was sentenced to jail for 16 weeks and Laura was given one year of community service.
