Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola says she bleached her skin to prevent other women from snatching up her husband.
The Osun Defender reports that the busty actress allegedly admitted this on a television programme ‘Your View’, speaking as a guest on Lagos-based Television Continental (TVC). Foluke Daramola-Salako has changed from her former chocolate skin colour to her now-fair complexion skin colour.
Foluke further confessed that she had to do that because she needed to ‘keep her man’ and added that it is also the special ‘thing’ among Nollywood actresses to do that,” a part of an online report, which monitored the TV programme, said.

Greg Brennan, the photographer who witnessed the scene, also reported that at least one of Clinton’s security agents was seen “angrily waving his arms” and showing the attendant his badge.
Still, the fine was issued.
“Despite our traffic marshal being questioned by the secret service for just doing his job, he was in the right,” Councillor Daniel Astaire, the local city council member for business, told the The Daily Mail. “The former US Secretary of State was parked for nearly 45 minutes without paying. I’m sure she will understand that we have to be fair to everyone, regardless of their status on the world stage.”
While the confrontation played out in the parking lot, Clinton was busy chatting with other dignitaries about the U.S.’s relationship with Iran and the ongoing conflict in Syria as she was honored with the Chatham House Prize.

The United Kingdom has promised to give Nigerian Prisons £1m (about N210m) to improve its prisons before 534 Nigerian prisoners in Britain can be sent home to serve the remainder of their jail sentences under a deal agreed between the two countries.
UK Prime Minister David Cameron has made it a major campaign point in 2010 to reduce the number of foreign prisoners in UK prisons by deporting them to finish their sentence in their home countries.
There are 534 Nigerians in UK prisons and more than half of them, according to UK media reports, could be deported under the new prisoner transfer agreement under discussion.
A major stumbling block to this deportation has been the poor condition of prisons in the prisoners home countries, but the UK has promised £1 million to Nigeria to help improve its prisons.
UK Prisons Minister Jeremy Wright said, “I am clear that more foreign prisoners must serve their sentences in their own countries. That is why we are currently working with the Nigerian Government on a compulsory prisoner transfer agreement to increase the number of prisoners who are transferred.
“Legislation allowing Nigeria to enter such an arrangement was passed earlier this year by the Nigerian Parliament. We are now working with them on the text of a final agreement.”
There are currently 10,786 foreign prisoners in British jails, down just three per cent from the 11,135 incarcerated when David Cameron came to power more than three years ago.
In April, Cameron said, “When people are sent to prison in the UK we should do everything we can to make sure that if they’re foreign nationals, they are sent back to their country to serve their sentence in a foreign prison.
“And I’m taking action in Government to say look we have strong relationships with all of the countries where these people come from. Many are coming from Jamaica, many from Nigeria, many from other countries in Asia.
“We should be using all of the influence we have to sign prisoner transfer agreements with those countries. Even if necessary frankly helping them to build prisons in their own country so we can send the prisoners home.”
In the UK, it costs an estimated £119,000 (about N28m) to cater for a new prisoner and an annual average cost of £41,000 (about N10m) for each prisoner. Thus the deportation of prisoners rids the UK of criminals and is a cost-saving measure in the face of financial constraints.
The first open heart surgery in a teaching hospital in Nigeria has been successfully carried out at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, Oyo State. The operation was performed by surgeons at the UCH together with a team of surgeons from the United States.
According to the statement made by the institution’s Head of Information Unit, Mr. Toye Akinrinola, the 4-hour surgery was aimed at fixing a leaking heart valve in a 19-year-old patient. Professor Temitope Alonge, Chief Medical Director of the UCH, was very excited about the result. He said:
“We are the pioneer teaching hospital in Nigeria, and we should be taking the lead. We are going to do this and we intend to make it a continuous exercise. “In fact, within the next six months, we intend carrying out not less than 30 heart-related surgeries and at affordable cost to Nigerians.”
Alonge felt really sorry that the Nigerians had to pay huge amounts of money in order to undergo such procedures outside the country. He said the cheapest rate outside Nigeria was about N2.5 million.
But now he is sure that it will become a lot cheaper. The first surgery, according to Alonge, is heavily subsidized - it is a way of encouraging Nigerians to believe in their own healthcare system. Professor also added that the Federal Government had given the UCH a mandate to improve on the training of doctors as a means of enhancing more access to adequate healthcare in Nigeria.

An Emeritus Professor of Transport Planning and Development, Michael Filani, died on Sunday while watching the Nigeria/Ethiopia World Cup qualifying match.
The deceased, who was a former deputy vice-chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), slumped and died while watching the match at his Oluyole Extension home in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
He hailed from Ikole-Ekiti. His death was received with shock by the university community yesterday. Many people said he was agile and radiant at his last public outing.
The late Filani had 32 years of experience in teaching and research. In the last 37 years, he served in various capacities within and outside U.I.

A bomb hidden in a microphone has killed an Afghan provincial governor as he made a speech at a mosque after Eid prayers in Logar, close to the capital Kabul.
Arsala Jamal was appointed by President Hamid Karzai, like all 34 provincial governors, and he was seen as a close ally of the president, acting as one of his campaign managers in the 2009 election.
“This morning, governor Jamal was delivering a speech after Eid prayers when he was killed by a bomb planted in the microphone,” Logar provincial governor spokesman Din Mohammad Darwish. “The governor wanted to speak and congratulate everyone on the occasion of Eid. At least 18 other people have been wounded, including civilians and government employees.”
Jamal only took up the Logar job in April after serving as governor of Khost, on the border with Pakistan. No group claimed immediate responsibility for the blast, though Taliban militants often target provincial government officials as well as Afghan soldiers and police.
Mr Karzai condemned Jamal’s killing, saying the attack inside the mosque showed the Taliban had no respect for Islam.
Earlier in his presidential Eid address on Tuesday, he again appealed for peace.
“Hamid Karzai called on the Taliban to work for the development of their country, and to spare Afghan security forces who are working to protect their soil, national dignity, and to stop carrying out attacks,” his office said.
“(The president) once again called on the Taliban and their leaders not to throw the youth of this country into destruction.”
Mohammad Jan Abid, head of the criminal investigative department in Logar, confirmed the mosque bombing and said a probe would be launched.
Volatile Logar, which lies to the south of the Afghan capital, is seen as a key strategic region, often described as a “gateway to Kabul” for Taliban militants based in strongholds across the south and east.
Security in the province has deteriorated in recent years, with the Taliban holding sway in some areas despite sustained Afghan and US military pressure.
Village-based Afghan Local Police (ALP) forces have also been active trying to wrestle back control of Taliban-held territory.
The Taliban have vowed to step up attacks as Afghanistan prepares for presidential elections in April and the withdrawal of 87,000 NATO troops by the end of next year.
Taliban supremo Mullah Omar on Sunday said he “rejected” the elections, which he alleged were being manipulated by foreign powers, and called on Afghans not to participate. The hardline Islamist Taliban regime was driven from power by a US-led coalition in 2001 for sheltering the al-Qaida leaders behind the 9/11 attacks.
The US and Afghanistan are currently in the last stages of talks on a Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) that would see several thousand US troops remain in the country to aid stability and continue training of local security forces. Omar warned any US bases remaining on Afghan soil “will never be accepted”, and that “armed jihad will continue against them with more momentum”.

Indecent dressing is a fad that does no one any good, if only ladies will understand. As you read this, this lady has lost her job at a Turkish TV station after she was accused of wearing an “unacceptable” dress. The lady, who is identified as Miss Kansu, is accused of taking her fashion sense to the “extreme”.
