Jim’s stand has now become necessary as many fans of Nadia, especially in her home country, do not believe that he will marry her in the end, as some see him as a serial heart breaker who has used and dumped many ladies. But the one-time bad boy of Nollywood movies has responded, saying that he has finally come to the point where he knows he must settle down, as he loves Nadia with all his heart. |  There is an underground plans by the movie marketers under the aegis of Film and Video Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria, FVPMAN, to blacklist Mercy Johnson Okojie,, in what they call, “ Withdrawing of service from her.” Continue............... A highly placed source who disclosed this latest move against the Actress to HVP, said, the association decided to take this action, following the ‘unbecoming attitude of the actress as it affects her work.” According to our source, members of the association met last Monday, in Onitsha, Anambra State, to fine-tune plans to blacklist the actress who recently returned to Nollywood after months of being away in the United States, where she gave birth to her first child. Shedding more light on the reason for blacklisting the Actress, our source disclosed that the marketers accused Mercy Johnson of forming the habit of disappearing while on location after she has been paid for the job. She was also accused of given them difficult conditions. However, the source further hinted that the marketers have vowed to sanction any member who disregard the decision to blacklist the actress. He also revealed that the leadership of the association has advised its members to release all the films that Mercy Johnson featured in, on or before January, 2014. Meanwhile, efforts to contact Mercy to react to the allegations proved abortive as her cell-phone was permanently switched-off. Recall, however, that upon her return to Nollywood,Mercy was bombarded with several scripts from different marketers and producers who wanted to get her on their movies. Culled From Punch eah you read right, Nollwood marketers have banned actress Mercy Johnson Okojie for being too expensive. Doesn't make sense does it? If someone's fees is too high, the sensible thing to do would be to boycott them and use less expensive actresses. Leave her to those who can afford her na, abi? Mercy Johnson is currently the highest paid actress in Nollywood. She charges between N1.8million to N2m to feature in a movie. The others, like Ini and Funke charge between N700k to N1.2million. For this reason, the actress has been blacklisted by the Nollywood Movie Marketers Association. The ban will not take effect immediately as Mercy has already signed up to do quite a number of movies. She returned on Thursday from a movie location, and will be on the set of another movie from tomorrow, Sunday. She will be traveling out of Nigeria sometime this month and when she returns, will be on another movie set...so she's basically booked till the end of the year. The idea now is not to ban her after all her current contracts end. So the ban won't take effect until at least January 2014. This is not the first time the movie marketers association will be placing bans on actors ... they did this a few years ago when quite a number of actors including RMD, Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Noah, Emeka Ike, and Jim Iyke were blacklisted. | | | | |

|  A photo released by the police shows a bullet hole in the phone screen and a bulge at the back where the bullet protruded There's no doubt cell phones have made life infinitely easier, but one man realized just how helpful they can be when an HTC smartphone saved his life. Early Monday morning, a gas station clerk was aiding a customer in finding a specific drink when the customer pulled a gun and demanded that the clerk open the safe. The clerk was unable to do so, and a second clerk was given the same instruction. Neither clerk was able to unlock the safe and the gunman left, but not before firing off a single shot. Police were immediately called to the Hess gas station in Winter Garden, Florida. While they were interviewing the clerk to gather information, he complained of chest pains. Until then, no one noticed that he had been shot. According to police accounts, he survived the attempted armed robbery thanks in part to his cell phone, which was stashed in his chest pocket. "So they started looking at the clerk. That's when they realized that the guy had actually shot at him, hit him, struck his cell phone, and the cell phone had stopped his bullet," Winter Garden Police Lt. Scott Allen said. The clerk was taken to the hospital, but was quickly released with no injuries. The chest pain he complained of was due to the blunt force of the bullet hitting the phone. His HTC smartphone, however, didn't fare so well. The screen is shattered and bullet is lodged into the phone. The other clerk was not harmed. "I've seen individuals get shot with low-caliber handguns and I've seen it be life ending. So, for this gentleman to be as lucky as he is, it's a good day for us," Allen said. This isn't the first time an HTC phone has saved a man's life from a bullet. In 2011, a valet at an Atlanta night club was shot by two men. According to the Associated Press, one of the bullets may have done some serious damage had it not been stopped by the man's HTC, also located in his chest pocket. Reports from this case indicate that the phone's battery kept the bullet from doing any harm. The lesson from this story is simple: be carefull with your smartphone, one day it may save your life! |  It seems its not just the students that are affected by the ASUU strike as protesting traders, under the aegis of National Market Women Association, Monday, stormed the National Assembly, demanding that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, call off its more than three months old strike. The protesters, who had been at the Ministry of Education and Office of the Head of Service, arrived the Assembly complex at 11.30a.m. The President-General of the group, Mrs Felicia Sani, who led the more than 200 protesting women, said: “We are tired of seeing our children at home. We want our children back in school. Enough of this cheap blackmail. “We all know what they do with our year-one daughters in the university. We equally know that they sell handouts and handbooks. “Is this not worse than corruption of the highest order?” The President-General of the group, Mrs Felicia Sani when asked why she did not criticize the Federal Government for failing to reach an agreement with ASUU said: “Which agreement? How do you expect lecturers in state universities to earn same salaries as Federal ones? That is impossible. “We are not educated, but you do not expect a hotel in my village to cost same price as a hotel in Abuja. “They are located in different places. So how can a state university lecturer earn same salary with his federal counterpart? “We are begging them for the last time. |  Not too long ago, actress Mercy Aigbe was caught in the web of scandal when she allegedly left her husband at a party to do something else and she later showed up with a different dress after her husband started what was described in the social media as a desperate search for his wife. Anyway, she and her husband have moved on after that saga and she is now talking love. She was asked in a recent chat how her husband reacts to her kissing and fondling in movies. |  Men of the Nigeria Police Force were caught unawares on Monday when a gang of heavily armed gun men in their 30s invaded the police station and disarmed them of their weapons in broad day light. Continue....................... One policemen confessed: “I was just about to go in and check some detainees when I heard gunshots. I rushed out to be face-to-face with bandits in flowing caftans, and some in tattered army uniforms, shooting into the air and ordering us to come out and lie down on the road. “They then started throwing explosives into the police station. The ground was shaking. "They later moved to the bank (about 100 metres away) and started shooting and throwing explosives. Some of the robbers were standing over us, while the rest were at the bank. The unfortunate incident took place at the Makarfi Divisional Police Station located in the Makarfi Council of Kaduna State. Gunmen, numbering almost 30, raided the station and rubbished the policemen on duty. One of the police officer at the scene spoke with Vanguard. He said: “I don’t know the time they all left because they left one after the other. They may have been there for an hour. Later, we saw a military vehicle with soldiers and Mobile Policemen. We told them what happened and they drove eastwards, also shooting into the air,” he said. “As far as I know, no one was injured, though they beat up some of us. I also heard they could not get any money from the bank. “I want you to please tell government to give us surveillance and communication equipment. We are just here facing danger everyday. If the armed robbers had wanted, they could have killed all of us, because they had better arms, and were more in number.” What a BIG shame, in Nigeria of 2013?! |  The woman in question is identified as Asampete Fatima Usman, a graduate of the University of Maiduguri who lives and works in Abuja. Fatima hails from Hong city in Adamawa state. According to sources, depressed Fatima sent out an apparent suicide letter to a couple of friends on Facebook on the 1st of October 2013. In the suicide note, Fatima informs friends of her intention of killing herself but her friends thought she was joking. One of her friends who got the mail late was convinced that Fatima would kill herself for using the term “end it all” but she was pacified by those she told who assured her that perhaps she had read too much meaning into the mail….she let it be but alas a few days later on October 8, 2013 exactly 3 hours after her last Facebook post, people started commenting that she had died. To everyone’s surprise Fatima’s corpse was found by her family on the same day…. Alas she had killed herself. People should try to act on time anytime a message of this nature is received who knows if they had reached out to her, she wouldn’t have killed herself. May the Lord comfort her family and give Fatima eternal rest.
