@kein04: I think that you're the one in poverty and confused, and not Emeka. Are u saying that a former Army General, who by the barrel of the gun, came to power , overthrew an elected president and truncated democracy, should be your president, instead of being in jail. In countries where things work, Buhari would have being is prisoner. I see that there are so many illiterates on this site., period.

Some Nigerians are so desperate for change that they are ready to accept anyone. This may be fatal. Given the antecedents of GMB some of which you rightly highlighted he is not fit to be president. A Nigerian writer once wrote that Nigerians tend to demonstrate symptoms of very short memory. Could this be the case here or a deliberate attempt to defy the odds? Time will tell.

Of course we desire change! I think most Nigerians are not satisfied with the performance of the present administration which explains the longing for change. But anyone who thinks Buhari is the change we desire is either beign emotional or has not really thought it through.

Some people point to boko haram as the achilles heel of this administration and the main,if not the singular reason for discrediting it. There is no where in the world where Islamic militants have been defeated abruptly. Fact. It's rather unfortunate that many lives have been lost! But for anyone to blame this on President Jonathan is beign unfair to him.

I do not consider GEJ as the lasting solution to our problems neither do I consider Burahi as the next political avatar. People should judge the current administration on their performance vis a vis the indices to national development like per capita income, infrastructural development, cost of living etc taking into account the challenges and problems they inherited from the past administration.

6  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Nigerian Man Refused Home in Ireland Because He is Black on: 18-06-2014 06:18 PM
The solution to racism,to my mind,is not far-fetched and it's quite practical. Introduce into the school curriculum the course 'race and racism' with emphasis on the relationship between the origin of the human race, pigmentation and diversity. This should be introduced at the United Nations level(if they are truly sincere about stamping out racism)and made compulsory on all Member State. This should take precedence over state sovereignty since it could be rightly viewed as involving a basic  fundamental human right issue.

But I doubt the sincerity of the power players on the world stage regarding racism. All 'efforts' so far, including the fight against racism in sports like football, are pathetically inadequate! If they really desire change they know how to go about it. My above solution is exactly what they've applied in propagating that homosegxwality, bisegxwality etc are normal and natural ways through which a person could express their segxwality. Children are being thought this in schools. The aim and result is for the next generation to view and accept this anomalies as normal. Logically, this would be the case.

Consequently,if the issue of racism is being treated with the same desire and energy, the next generation will fully understand and appreciate the fact that there really is no difference between people of all races and that we all share a common humanity. Racism will be redefined and mankind would focus on more important issue affecting our existence.

Tell the whites in Zimbabwe to stop claiming to be Zimbabwean citizens. Same for those in S.Africa,Zambia et al. Fact is,you could be a citizen of any country either by birth or naturalization. I understand where you are coming from;the white man still call the shots. But that does not extinguish the reality of citizenship when the necessary prerequisites are satisfied.

The fight and struggle for the black man's dignity and respect to be restored continues. Restored because this was lost during the despicable years of slavery. And this could only be achieve through hard work, academic excellence and striving towards becoming producers/inventors as opposed to consumers only which,I must say,is the bane of the black man. Above all we must put our trust in God our creator who did not create the black man to be ridiculed but, along with other races, to replicate His power and dominion here on earth.
10  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: SCIENCE: Being Gay Is A Matter Of Your DNA, Not Choice on: 17-02-2014 04:55 AM
Inasmuch as I respect the efforts of this research,as of now there is no agreed consensus in the scientific world as to the cause or causes of homosegxwality. Opinions are divided. If you read the article properly you'll immediately notice that the claim hinges on probability as opposed to certainty and the pointer to this fact is the frequent use of the word 'might'!

Having said that,if for a fact there's a gene responsible for this behaviour then this raises a big question regarding God and His purpose for creation! God's purpose for making opposite sexes attract is clearly for procreation. But a man/man or woman/woman attraction is inexplicable to say the least;except for personal gratification of course! But could this really be God's purpose? How does this equation advance humanity in the grand scheme of things? And for those opposed to the idea of Godism the question is,is it natural for a man's segxwal emission to be deposited in the rectum, the end of the alimentary canal responsible for digestion and clearly not a segxwal organ,of another man?

It's curious that scientists readily classify zoophilia and pedophilia as psychiatry illnesses. We still await the publication of the gene responsible for polygamy and bigamy,or is there none Sad!

How can som1 use the word pathetic for a good nation like Nigeria......I think tht person needs a head treatment.....go to syria, libya,Egypt,Somalia,Sudan and u will understand the word pathetic.....What a bless country no earthquake,  no sunami no volcano.....nd u r callin such a country pathetic.........U need to change the way u think it must be so pathetic

Anybody who uses the word 'pathetic' to describe Nigeria does not need any head treatment as you suggested! On the contrary their endless search for a better word made them opt for this kinder one. Did you really say blessed or are you speaking tongue in cheek? If you are talking about the natural resources that we have I'll go with you albeit half way because what use are the resources if the dividends are not reflected in our economic life as regards GDP,per capita income and standard of living?

Those countries you highlighted, the Syrias,Libyas et al,are all demanding for a lasting change in their various countries. They were fed up with the status quo unlike in Nigeria that we swallow whatever is forced down our throats by the goons that have taken the leadership of our country by the scruff of the neck!

The absence of physical earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanos in Nigeria are all misleading because these natural disasters are tacitly reflected in our everyday lives:poor power supply(arguably the worst on the planet!),very low standard of living(a bulk of the people live below a dollar per day). In short compare all the economic indices to national development available to you with what obtains in Nigeria and reach your conclusion objectively. You'll realise that truly we are a disaster zone!

As for the Ukrainian man,I could tell you are in cloud nine already! But before you come crashing down to earth do yourself a favor and put on a parachute. Something to cushion the fall. Otherwise it's gonna be really nasty! All the same good luck with your adventure!
16  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Re: Ladies: Would You Prefer To Date A Man That Wears Ear Rings? (Page 3) on: 5-12-2013 01:13 AM
This would depend on the culture. In certain cultures around the world(especially remote ones)it is acceptable for men to put on ear rings. Even in certain Africa tribes men do indulge themselves in this habit. However,in contemporary African societies this is generally regarded as inconsistent with the nature of a man and should be shunned. Personally I think it is the first test of a man's masculinity. Ear-rings are classified as ADORNMENT(decoration) and are mentioned in the same breath as painting of nails(fingers and toes),hair extension etc and should be left in the domain of our female folks.

Of course it does not necessarily translate to the fact that it is a sign of irresponsibility!  Responsible men do wear ear-rings.But there's something that is just out of place about it and you know this instinctively. Some would disagree with my position. I understand that. Not with the influence of Western cultures which have a pedigree of making things(even abominable things )appear normal. But in the final analysis it all boils down to the individual choice we make as men.

Bro, first of all, let me correct your grammar. it is not doesn't but don't. Okay, to reply your comment, I don't think that Nigerian players are overage because they still lack the experience. Iran is not a football nation, all they are good in is building nuclear weapons just to make the world bow to them. Unfortunately, this is football, not Uranium which they stockpile for them to build nuclear weapons.
Secondly, Teams like Brazil and Uruguay would have trashed Iran 10 nils each, yet the coach did not say anything about the Brazilian team that play like senior team. The same will be said about Uruguay team .

Sorry that grammatical error was not made by me but by the man that I quoted and replied to! Thanks!

Most of you guys are just commenting in ignorance. The soldier has no right to punish that man for whatsoever reason. This is not part of the job description of the military! Crossing the express road is not nearly as bad as the looting and gross indiscipline going on in our high places. If that man has broken the law, then he should be taken to court. The stupid soldier has no business with enforcing the law. Unless we are back to military rule

Until I read your comment I desperately searched for a reasonable post but found none! Thanks for putting the situation in it's proper perspective and pointing out the role of a soldier in a civil society.

It is the duty of the police and NOT that of the soldier to maintain law and order in any civil society INCLUDING Nigeria! What the soldier did is an offence and should be prosecuted for that! The initial offender should've been arrested by the police and if necessary charged and prosecuted.

It is also a frightening fact as demonstrated on this forum that most of our dear citizens cannot divorce the duties of a soldier and that of the police in the country as a whole!! Instead of questioning the right of the soldier to usurp the role of adjudicator and enforcer of the law they are applauding him for punishing the man! Although it's hilarious it is also a saddening fact!
