The General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church, Prophet Samuel Abiara said that God revealed to him shortly before the Malaysian Air disaster that there would be there major air mishaps.

Prophet Samuel Abiara
Speaking on Sunday at the end of a seven-day prayer conference organised by the church for the nation with the theme: “God that answers prayers,” which held at the CAC Agbala Itura in Abuja, the man of God warned Nigerians to be very prayerful as there were two more major impending plane crashes apart from the Malaysian plane that went missing on Friday.
Abiara also called on Nigerians to pray against impending terrorist attack in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja by the Boko Haram Islamic sect.
"The call for prayers is necessitated by the divine revelation as received by the commission from God on the impending terror attack on our country particularly in FCT, from people presumed to be enemies of this nation, regardless of the ones initially carried out by these evil perpetrators," he said.
According to Abiara, the accidents would be averted only if prayers are intensified.

29  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / The Nonsense In Financial Reporting Council Report On CBN on: 10-03-2014 01:07 PM

Nigeria’s ministries, ministers and lawmakers are the highest paid in the entire world. Equipment purchases and renovations for these departments run into billions with computers purchased at triple global prices and then ‘replaced’ again with each year’s budget.

In view of the above, the errors in the Financial Reporting Council report used to ‘fire’ CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi are very significant, distressing and call into question the entire processes of this particular case and all cases covered by this council. The error pointed out below also calls into question the value of the Secretary of the President, his advisers and all related officials who this document passed through.

Finally, this error further challenges the validity and legality of the President’s action in firing the CBN governor which was pinged wholly on the ‘facts’ presented in the F.R.C. report in review...

The F.R.C. report was prepared by Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment headed by Minister Olusegun Aganga, who according to an article of January 6, 2014, by Steve Omanufeme, in ThisDay, was tipped for Sanusi Lamido’s job.

In the report, ref: PRES/188/T&I/89—as downloaded online—a major issue which questioned the activity of the Central Bank was item 3.1.3 on page 4: FRAUDULENT ACTIVITIES.

In this item, the F.R.C. stated, “In CBN’s response 14b, your Excellency was referred to ‘Appendix 12’ for the breakdown of ‘Currency issue expenses’ for 2011 and 2012. The CBN claimed it paid Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM Plc) N38.233 Billion in 2011 for ‘Printing of Banknotes’ whereas the entire Turnover of NSPM Plc (Group) is N29.370 Billion.”

This was a serious error that arguably threw out the validity of this report as presently prepared.

Item 14b in the President’s query to the CBN and item 14b in the CBN response did not pertain to “Currency issue expenses” as stated by the FRC, but rather to “repairs and maintenance expenses of N2.268 Billion in 2012 and N2.070 Billion in 2011.”

It was item 14a in the President’s query and item 14a in the CBN response that referred to the N38.23 Billion MINT expenditure claim of 2011. CBN document ref: GVD/GOV/STH/CON/03/, responded to item 14a as quoted: “Details of the currency expenses by amounts, names of suppliers as well as description of expenditure is attached as Appendix 12.”

Importantly also, the report failed to simply confirm and present exactly how much of the queried N38.23 billion was actually paid by the CBN to NSPM MINT. This is a very important detail left out in the seemingly hurriedly prepared report. The report also failed to mention if currency was printed by any external printers. These question that were unanswered and the grave error misplacing item 14a for item 14b cast doubt as to the legitimacy of this report.

Nigerians will be happy for such detailed audits of all executives, ministries and federal appointees. The level of detail in this report is well appreciated, however the nation requests all other departments be promptly audited and the findings made available to the public as has been in this case. But that noted, this inaccuracy calls into question the capacity of our government as presently constituted to properly audit its officials. It certainly justifies Nigeria’s Minister of Finance’s request for Forensic auditors in the ‘fraud’ case of the missing $20+ billion.

It is infrequently that the public has this unprecedented access to review the work of our highly paid ministries. This case reveals a high level of tolerated incompetence that passes several stages of review, is submitted from one ministry to the Presidency and is accepted with “nonsense” errors by the Presidency and acted upon to the risk of the nation’s economy. This error is significant. Such misplacements of items and figures are potentially fraudulent. This was a high caliber audit of Nigeria’s Apex bank, not a local bank audit. One needs to consider the utility of such “errors,” successfully passing several departments and resulting in the defrauding of the nation to the tune of billions.

It is important this report is revised to address the issues raised. It is also necessary looking forward, that there is some form of quality control in Nigeria’s government offices to check for this type of embarrassing and potentially dangerous conduct and performance of officials and departments who are compensated more than enough to perform at much higher standards.

30  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Top Military Officers Blast Maku for Warning Them Against Coup on: 10-03-2014 12:55 PM

The minister of information, Labaran Maku, is in trouble for daring to warn the military against intervening in the ongoing political logjam as top military officers have frowned against such ‘ill-advice’ from a civilian.

With feelers coming from the military, the "talk-talk" minister may have advised a wrong audience as not fewer than seven top military officers have kicked against his reckless speech.
“The minister was talking rubbish. Thank God for democracy, who is he to be talking, addressing our service chiefs that way? When last did he hear any coup plot in this country? Is he having any security reports that alleged any coup plot? If yes, we challenge him to bring it out otherwise, he should keep silent,” a top military officer said.
It would be recalled that while handing over to the new defence minister, Gen Aliyu Mohammed Gusau, Maku who had been supervising minister for the ministry advised the military against interrupting democratic.

He had said: “We are heading towards an electoral phase in Nigeria this year, and there have been a lot of utterances from within and outside the country relating to the unity and future of Nigeria.

“The past experiences have not helped the country. We all know that, maybe, without those military interruptions, Nigeria would today be at par with India, Malaysia and others. So interruptions have not helped the country. And we pray that after 14 years of democratic rule, the Army, the Armed Forces would continue to remain loyal to the constitution, the commander-in-chief, and to our democratic system.”

Also condemning Maku's careless talk, a top officer said: “Maku should learn how to say what and where. As the Information Minister, he should not be adding more problems to the ones on ground. Since 1999, the Armed Forces had parted ways with politics; we are facing our professional jobs and if anyone is advising us against any interruption of the government now, such an individual is advised to stop talking balderdash.”

31  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / I Warned That Girl Not To Blackmail Obesere –Friend Opens Up on: 10-03-2014 12:54 PM

More revelations are still coming out, with clear indication that Miss Olanike Olaiye is actually lying against the man she accused of molesting her, Abass Akande Obesere. The lady who introduced Olanike to Obesere has now confirmed Obesere's story that Olanike is just trying to blackmail him and get some millions.

Speaking to newsmen on Friday in Ibadan, Bola Okoro, the lady who brought two of them together, said her friend, Olanike has a daughter and she has been responsible for she and daughter's upkeep for more than five years, adding that Olanike had earlier revealed to her a plan to blackmail Obesere for N10 million:
“I warned her not to try such a thing and I thought she had taken to my advice. Obesere is my business partner and I introduced Olanike to him in order for him to help her with her business without knowing that she had another plan to malign him...
"She was with Obesere on Tuesday and called me that she would be coming to Ibadan to check on her child on Wednesday, but I told her to wait; that I was also coming to Lagos for a meeting, and she came to meet me at that meeting. I was not aware that anything was wrong with her until we got to Ibadan, but I was surprised when Obesere called me that Olanike said she was bleeding that I should take her to the hospital.
"When I inquired about what was wrong, she told me that if I needed money, I should support her plan to collect N10 million from Obesere, but I refused. I told her that I would never be part of that plan before she proceeded to Lagos and reported the alleged abuse at Okota Police Station.

She also revealed that Olanike's real name is Morenike Kikelomo, not Olanike Olaiya that she gave police.

“She had been abandoned by her parents because of her waywardness before I took up her responsibility. I have known Alhaji Obesere for over 12 years and he is a responsible, kind-hearted individual who cannot hurt a fly. I wonder why he would stoop so low as to rape or use a girl for ritual when so many girls are out there who want to have him,” the woman added.

For now, it seems that Olanike (or Morenike) is in hiding as her covers has been exposed. Hmmm...women!

32  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Police Arrests Okonkwo For Having 25 Bank Accounts on: 10-03-2014 12:48 PM

The Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi in Lagos State, has arrested a 39-year-old trader, Okonkwo Nwachukwu, for allegedly opening multiple accounts with Zenith Bank, under different identities.
“While the Customer Service office was checking the documents, Okonkwo allegedly went to the Marketing Unit and collected another savings account opening package and completed same with another name, Ogueji Nnamdi. He allegedly returned to the Customer Service Desk and presented same for account opening with another National Identity Card bearing Ogueji Nnamdi.”
Okonkwo's action is meant to defraud financial institutions and members of the public...

A statement by SFU Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ngozi Isintume-Agu, said the SFU Commissioner of Police had received a petition from the bank on February 12, 2014.

The petition: “The petition alleged that Okonkwo had appeared at the Amuwo Odofin branch of Zenith Bank to open a savings account and presented an already completed savings account opening package with the name, Obiozor Ifeanyi, and identified himself as such with a National Identity Card."

Okonkwo’s attempt to open another savings account within minutes with another identity was said to have aroused the suspicion of the Customer Service Officer.

Upon searching the bank’s system with Okonkwo’s phone number, the customer service officer discovered that he already possessed about 25 savings accounts at various branches under different names.

The statement added, “It was further alleged that Okonkwo also operated a corporate account with number 1012000129, belonging to Chukon Integrated Limited, and he also identified himself as Okonkwo Nwachukwu when he opened the said account.

“A native of Okija Ihiala LGA of Anambra State, Okonkwo is into cargo business, owns an office at Block 4, Shop 169 A.P.T. Market Trade Fair, Lagos.”

Okonkwo is claiming that the over 25 accounts is to enable him run his business successfully.

But the SFU said he forged a lot of documents to carry out the fraud and they are now tracking his activities.

33  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Bury Me With All My Books - Dead OAU Student's Last Wish on: 10-03-2014 12:40 PM

The last note by a part-four Law Student of Obafemi Awolowo University, who allegedly committed suicide, Dipo Ige, was that his books should be buried with him. Ige was said to have committed suicide in his private hostel penultimate Saturday at Ashiefa, Ibadan Road, Ile-Ife and was buried at his hometown in Iree, Osun State on Sunday.

It was gathered that Ige and his girlfriend had a misunderstanding before his death. But while controversy still surrounds Ige’s death, he cautioned in the note that no one should blame his girlfriend...

According to Punch, Ige said his valuables should be distributed to certain people. Part of the note read:
"As I plan to end my life, please bury my books with me. My reason for this action is best known to me. Please don’t blame my girlfriend (name withheld). She knows nothing about this. Share my properties accordingly to…”

Fresh facts, however, emerged on Sunday that Ige sent a message to his mum before his action. It was learnt that due to network problem, the message did not get to the recipient until over an hour after it was sent.

A close friend to Ige, who pleaded anonymity narrated, “That day about 9pm, Ige sent a text message to his mum. He told her to come to Ile-Ife immediately, adding that any delay could mean that the mum would meet him dead. When she eventually got the message around 10pm, she immediately alerted his close friend, Bola Okiji, to check on him. Unfortunately, Okiji was not in Ile-Ife, he was at Ilesha.

“The mum sent another lady living close to him to check him. The lady met Ige’s door locked. She peeped through the key hole and saw Ige, who appeared lifeless. She screamed, broke the door and raised the alarm, which attracted the neighbours.”

Anyway, his friend Okiji is insisting that Ige committed suicide because of “academics love.” He said Ige was a brilliant student in second class upper grade before his death. What a sad end!

34  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Assault: Onyeka Onwenu Dragged to NHRC By Businesswoman on: 10-03-2014 12:38 PM

A business woman, Mrs. Olajoke Adesipe, has accused popular musician, Onyeka Onwenu, of assault and she has thus petitioned the National Human Rights Commission, after she was forcefully evicted from her shop at the National Centre for Women Development, Abuja on the order of Onyeka, who is the new DG.

Mrs Adesipe, in the letter dated March 3, 2014, claimed that Onwenu directed security officers to throw her wares out of her shop, adding that she was assaulted on the instruction of Madam Onwenu when she took the pictures of the incident.

The business woman, who sells textiles, said she was a yearly tenant, adding that her current tenancy would not end until December, 2014. Mrs Adesipe petition reads:

“On January 21, I heard that the DG might likely eject me even when my rent is still valid. On February 13, I got a call from Onwenu asking why I had not moved out of the shop and I told her that nobody had given me an allocation letter for the new shop as she promised.

“She said if I failed to move out by February 14, she would send for State Security Service to chase me out. On February 14, I was at the centre early. I heard that Onwenu, in company with her security personnel, had forced my shop open. I ran there and saw her supervising the forceful ejection without any prior court or police order,” Adesipe stated in the petition.

According to Punch, she got a letter to vacate the premises within three days on January 28, 2014, adding that another letter was served on her on February 4, in which the centre threatened to go to court.

She explained that she wrote a letter to Onwenu on February 6, and sent her a text message three days later seeking an audience. She said the DG gave her an appointment for the following day.

Mrs Adesipe said she had earlier met other members of the management team at Onwenu’s office and after she narrated her story, Madam Onwenu, who is now showing herself as big woman because of an appointment, had apologised to her and told her a formal apology letter would be written by the centre to her.

She added that Onwenu said she should vacate the shop and promised that she would be relocated to the shopping complex within the premises. Mrs Adesipe said she would vacate as soon as a shop she gets an allocation letter.

Back to her assault: She said that she took pictures of the scene of the incident with her phone but Onwenu immediately directed that her phone be confiscated. She said in the struggle for the phone, she was beaten and dragged on the ground, while her cloth and bags were torn.

35  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Photos: Meet some of the passengers on missing Malaysian plane on: 10-03-2014 12:06 PM

Yesterday a Vietnamese search team said they had found what they believe is part of a door and an airplane's tail, but today, the Malaysian Civil Aviation Chief said it was a false alarm as nothing from the missing plane has been found.
"Unfortunately we have not found anything that appears to be objects from the aircraft, let alone the aircraft. As far as we are concerned, we have to find the aircraft, we have to find a piece of the aircraft if possible.' he told a news conference today.
It's also been revealed that aside from 2 passengers boarding the plane using stolen passports, 5 other passengers checked on to the flight but did not board the plane. Their baggage was removed before the plane departed.
Dozens of ships and aircraft from seven countries are searching the seas around Malaysia and south of Vietnam, but so far nothing.

People are speculating that maybe the plane was hijacked, flew under the radar, to land somewhere. If this happened then it means the passengers are alive somewhere, but this theory is very unlikely.  Continue to see photos of some of the passengers on the missing plane...

36  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Missing Malaysian plane: Search team find plane door and tail on: 10-03-2014 11:59 AM

A Vietnamese search team has found what they believe is part of a door and an airplane's tail in the first major breakthrough in the hunt for missing Boeing 777 flight aircraft, Wall Street Journal reports

Debris from the plane have been located around 50 miles from south-west of Tho Chu Island, and investigators are narrowing the focus of their inquiries on the possibility that the plane disintegrated in mid-flight. (Pic above shows what is believed to be a piece of debris of missing airplane)
'The fact that we are unable to find any debris so far appears to indicate that the aircraft is likely to have disintegrated at around 35,000 feet,' someone who is involved in the investigations in Malaysia said Sunday. Continue...

Meanwhile, one of the men whose passport was stolen and used by a passenger on the missing flight, 37 year old Italian tourist Luigi Maraldi, had a press conference at a police station in Phuket island, southern Thailand yesterday and explained how his passport was stolen in July 2013 on the island of Phuket. Thankfully, he reported his passport stolen and police have the record.

Yesterday, Luigi's father explained the original was stolen after his son used it to hire a motorbike.
'Last summer he was in Thailand and handed over the passport so he could hire a scooter but when he brought it back, they said they had already given it back to someone else, so he reported it stolen. The whole thing is a mix up - we have no idea who the person was that used my son's passport. The first I knew something had happened was when my son rang from Thailand on Saturday morning to say he was alive.
The owner of the other stolen passport is 30 year old Austrian citizen Christian Kozel, who only discovered his name was on the passenger manifest when police officers turned up at his home in Salzburg at the weekend.
'I was pretty shocked when I saw them at my door, and was relieved to find out that although I was dead, at least it was only on paper.' Christian said.
He also reported his passport stolen in 2012. The passport was stolen in the same part of Thailand.

37  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Boko Haram confesses before T.B Joshua, reveals failed plans to bomb the church on: 10-03-2014 11:57 AM

I have my reservations about all these confessions and deliverance...but some of you will find this interesting. Report sent in by freelance journalist, Ihechukwu Njoku. Find it below...
A member of the dreaded Boko Haram sect confessed before Pastor T.B. Joshua of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) today, revealing how their plan to bomb the popular church in Lagos was thwarted.
In a broadcast beamed live via the Christian station, Emmanuel TV, late into the afternoon, Joshua announced to the congregation that a young man had a confession to make.
"My name is Mustapha. I come from Yola, Adamawa State. I am a member of Boko Haram,” he began, sending the congregation into uproar. “Boko Haram is a cult. We have killed many souls,” he confessed.

Probed further about the process through which he joined Boko Haram, Mustapha explained, “When I joined this cult, they wrote something with Arabic Language. After writing it, they washed it and I drunk it. That is the day I had the mind to kill souls.”

Questioned by Joshua as to his intention of being in the church, the secret sect member explained it was his first time in Lagos. “We were five in number,” he continued. “We dropped at the junction opposite from the church. There was a man who used to sell something opposite the church here. He is selling sweets, soap and cigarettes. I met the man and asked him to help me keep the bag I was carrying. It contained some instruments – bombs, to destroy people.”

However, Mustapha said the local trader refused to collect the bag. “We decided to sit down and eat before going on our mission here. Our plan was to take souls, to destroy at this Synagogue Church.”

The Boko Haram member explained that activating the bomb was a matter of joining wires, adding that they had the ability to time the bomb. “We can set it to explode in one minute or ten minutes. We planned to set it for five minutes and immediately leave the place. All the souls will go.”

However, whilst sitting down to eat with his colleagues at a restaurant opposite the popular church in Ikotun-Egbe, Mustapha recounted a strange incident. “They brought food for us and we were eating. At that place, they had television. We were watching the television and discussing. It was Emmanuel TV – I saw you (T.B. Joshua) preaching to people”.

Mustapha had never been in church before and had no idea who T.B. Joshua was. “By the time you prayed and laid hands on the screen, it was like you were there with us and you joined our midst. As you laid your hands on the screen, you laid your hands on our face. That was when confusion came between us; everybody scattered,” he confessed.

“Since that day, I wanted to go home but I am not fit. Any time I lie down, I will be seeing you (T.B. Joshua) in my dream. You are disturbing me. I don’t know what I did to you. The thing is bothering me too much.”

Asked to explain further, Mustapha revealed, “In my dream yesterday, you told me that the group of Boko Haram would not exist again. I want to go but I don’t have the spirit to do it again. I don’t sleep in the night; I always see you. You are disturbing me. You keep praying for me and laying hands on me. I want to sleep well. I cannot close my eyes without seeing you (T.B. Joshua). Please, help me.”

Several hours later, Joshua readdressed the issue and brought the young man forward again, stating that God had warned him of the impending attack several weeks ago, prompting him to go into intense prayers.

“I have been in a serious battle for the past two weeks. Those who looked at my knees yesterday will know that this is what I wore last week,” Joshua stated, explaining that he wore the same jeans for the past few weeks which were clearly soiled from prayer sessions.

"It was not a surprise to me because I have seen it. My mission is to separate him from the spirit that is controlling him to do that. We are not to fight mere flesh and blood,” the pastor explained.

Mustapha reiterated his plight. “I cannot sleep or close my eyes. Even now, I am feeling a headache because I have not slept at night. Anytime I lie down and I want to sleep, I will see you in my dream, praying for me and disturbing me.”

As T.B. Joshua prayed, the Boko Haram member fell violently on the floor. He managed to get back up but fell again at the prayer of Joshua. He then began to vomit some strange substances. Joshua noticed the tattoo of a scorpion emblazoned on his shoulder and asked for its meaning. “This is the tattoo they gave to me in the cult. All of us have this tattoo.”

Asked whether he had ever encountered such a scenario before, Mustapha, who explained it was his very first time in a church, confessed, “We have never failed before. There is an operation we did at an airforce base in Maiduguri recently. Even we went to Adamawa State in Michika two weeks ago. We have never failed.”

Stretching his hand towards Mustapha again, Joshua prayed once again and the young man fell to the floor. As he got up slowly from the floor, tears were in the eyes of Mustapha. “The spirit leading him to kill is gone,” Joshua declared to applause from the onlookers.  Looking intently at him, Joshua, who is well known for his prophecies, stated, “There is one set of beads you used to wear.” Mustapha looked shocked. “Yes, I used to wear it before. How did you know that I am wearing something?” The young man was then away from the public.
