This bride has many reasons to be grateful to God as she and her man almost got killed just minutes after their wedding, they narrowly escaped death in an auto crash while on their way from the wedding reception. The accident involving a NNPC tanker, a cargo truck and two saloon cars happened at about 4:45pm close to the Otedola bridge, Alausa, on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, last Saturday.
The bride and her husband were said to have jumped out of their car...A Punch reporter who witnessed the accident said the NNPC truck, while descending the slop from Alausa at top speed, could not hold its break. It then ran into the first car and squashed the second one against the cargo truck.
When the reporter got to accident scene, the groom was no where in sight. His elder sister confirmed that they were coming from the wedding reception of the couple when the unfortunate accident happened.
She was seen kneeling down and thanking God for their escape but refused to give the name of the couple.

Guinness Book of World Records has named the Nigerian twin sisters who got married to another set of twin brothers on the same day, the 1st in Africa and the 251st in the world. The couple were joined together at Foursquare Gospel Church, Omole, Ikeja and had their reception at the ever bubbling 10 Degree Events Centre in Oregun.
During the church wedding, officials of the Guinnes Book of World Records acknowledged that they have never had any record or history of twins’ marriage in Africa.
Folawemi Taiwo Okunniyi and Febisola Kehinde Okunniyi are identical twin sisters from the same parents from Ondo State, and the grooms, Chinonso Akinade Okueze and Chibuzor Adelakin Okueze are also identical twins from the same parents from Asaba, Delta State.

Now, six months on from the accident, incredible footage has emerged this week showing the moment the ship's cook was rescued from an air bubble on the ship, three days after the ship capsized.
Harrison Odjegba Okene after being rescued said he kept reciting the last psalm his wife had sent by text message to him before the boat capsized. "Oh God, by your name, save me. ... The Lord sustained my life", he said.
His family had earlier been informed that no one survived. Okene believed he was only saved by God. He lived on a bottle of coke for the three days .

The Police Command again has uncovered another baby-making factory in Egbu, near Owerri the State capital, arresting the proprietor, one Dr. James Ezuma who runs a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), and a clinic. 16 girls were rescued in the process. The girls were kept in two rooms in the building that houses his NGO, with no windows while repulsive odour oozed out from their rooms The girls, aged 14-19 were encouraged to get pregnant and take home the sum of N100,000 at delivery, on the condition that they would abandon their babies who would be eventually used for purposes ranging from child trafficking to rituals.

This is a report by The NET claiming Burna Boy has a criminal past, a period of his life he would rather not make public knowledge. We are told on good authority that while in the UK back in 2010, Burna Boy was arrested by London Police for allegedly being part of a gang and stabbing someone to death. He was tried as a minor and sent to jail. After 11 months, he was released and given two months parole plus community service on the grounds of being of ‘good behaviour’. But Burna is said to have disobeyed authorities and travelled back to Nigeria where he signed a record deal with Aristokrat. He later travelled back to the UK but was arrested at the airport and deported to Nigeria. He is currently barred from the UK for the next 15 years. If you recall last month I published a report that Burna is planning on leaving his record label.
We are told that problem ensued when his debut album ‘L.I.F.E’ dropped in August 2013. Burna Boy wasn’t pleased with the way the label handled the marketing and release of the album.Contrary to reports earlier published, Burna did NOT get a N10m upfront payment for the album. The artiste feels the label should have done better – probably with a high budget album launch, major campaign etc.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State on Monday met with the the widow he insulted in a major road in the state while on an inspection tour and donated two million naira to her, after an apology: "Let me apologise to you for the way I spoke to you, I am very sorry about the statement. I have also realised that even in anger, one could still achieve the same result that he set out to without provocative outburst. I apologise from the bottom of my heart." The widow, Mrs Joy Ifije, who was invited to the Edo Government House by the governor, was also offered automatic employment by Governor Oshiomhole to take her off the street. She was so happy...
Oshiomhole had invited the widow to personally apologise to her over his uncomplimentary remark which had generated controversies in both the conventional and social media in since last week. Oshiomhole's action has frustrated the PDP in Edo State that were trying to play politics with the matter.
The governor used the opportunity to advise against risking their lives to trade on high ways. He said trading on the road and walk ways could hinder free flow of traffic as well as cause accidents.
He added that his government will continue to change the face of the state with infrastructural development.
On her part, the widow, Mrs Joy Ifije, pleaded with the governor to forgive her for flaunting the law of the state and promised to do better next time. She said: "I know I was wrong, that was why I quickly knelt down to beg when I realised I was face to face with the Governor."
Funny enough, the widow promised to help government advise other women not to trade on the road side.
According to news reports, the Composite Group Air Force Base in Maiduguri, the Maiduguri International Airport and other places in Borno State were attacked in the early hours of this morning by gunmen believed to be members of Boko Haram. The gunmen, said to be over 300, attacked with heavy artillery including Rocket Propelled Grenade Launchers.
Several people were killed by the explosives which the terrorist planted in targeted areas, including the newly constructed trailer park along Damaturu- Maiduguri road, military check points, residential and public buildings. Some Boko Haram members and securities operatives were killed in the attack.
The attack this morning has prompted a 24-hour curfew in the city. Only vehicles on emergency calls and essential services are allowed to move for now.
