ABA- A truck driver Thursday, at Ogbor Hill area of Aba, Abia state,

 lost control and rammed into a classroom killing 7 school children.

Fifteen other school children also sustained various degrees of injuries during the accident. They were pupils of Glorious International Academy located on 42 Opobo road, Aba.
The truck with Registration number, Akwa Ibom AA 702 KTA was said to be on its way to Ovom waterside to evacuate sand when it lost control and rammed into the fence of Glorious International Academy located on 42 Opobo road.
The pupils were said to be having their morning devotion in a classroom when the incident occurred. 
According to eyewitnesses account, the pupils have concluded their examinations and were said to have returned to the school to have their end of the year party.
When Vanguard visited the school, police and operatives of Federal Road Safety Corps were seen inspecting the scene of the accident even as sympathizers were seen in groups discussing the development.
Blood stains covered the floor of the classroom, just as broken desks, biscuits, plates which were to be used for the end of the year party for the pupils.
Also, some parents and relations who lost their children and wards were seen weeping uncontrollably while others were making inquiries regarding the whereabouts of their children and wards.

A loud explosion from the Conoil filling station, directly opposite the Headquarters of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), in Abuja, on December 5, 2013, around 03.00 p.m., triggered a fire outbreak that raged for hours in the capital city.
The explosion caused serious commotion around the densely populated business area.
Several people many sustained injuries, as a result of the stampede to escape from the area. Many people started to panic as they had no idea of the exact cause, feared it was a bomb blast from insurgents.

According to the Kansas City Star, only 4,500 fans bought tickets to watch his show at 19,000 seat Sprint Centre Arena in Kansas on Tuesday December 3rd.

The 23-year-old Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell, the girlfriend of late Paul Walker, for the first time appeared in public since the horrible accident took the life of her beloved.
Jasmine visited Paul Walker’s family in Santa Barbara home yesterday. She paid a visitg just 3 days after the 40-year-old star of the Fast & Furious franchise tragically died with his friend in a car crash.
The young woman appeared visibly shaken, barefooted as she spent three hours at the house with her late boyfriend’s family.
According to the report, when the girl, who was present at the charity event on the faithful day, first heard about the crash, she collapsed.
Eyewitness Jim Torp told Hollywood Life in an interview that he was the one who broke to terrible news to the college student.
"Paul’s girlfriend was standing next to me when I got the phone call," Torp told the magazine. "When I told her what happened she fell, she collapsed."

Jasmine had been dating Paul Walker since 2006 when she was just 16 and he was 33 – but the 17-year age gap has been no barrier to them both finding love.

The House Of Representative at their meeting yesterday, discussed on the number of times an average Nigerian student take the Unified Tertiary matriculation Examination, UTME before gaining admission into Nigerian Universities of Higher Learning.
According to the #VNTI reporters from the House of Reps, With the law in sight, if a Student sits for the UTME and makes a good results, the result should be Valid for a 3 year period, during which the student can still use to pursue admission into Nigerian Higher Institutions, without the need to register or re-take the examination.
This law however, is still within the house, and haven’t been agreed/passed yet.

According to one of the world’s leading authorities on genetics says the human race was born into existence after a chimpanzee mated with a pig.

Dr. Eugene McCarthy’s stunning claims were made in an online article. However, it was not clear when the startling findings was initially published.

The scientist says that while human beings share a number of characteristics with chimpanzees, there are others that don’t correspond with the primates.

“What is this other animal that has all these traits? The answer is Sus scrofa – the ordinary pig,” he wrote. “The tentative scenario that I picture is that human beings came into being via hybridization between a pig, whose best modern representative is Sus scrofa, and an ape, best represented today by the pygmy chimpanzee, Pan paniscus,” he added.
McCarthy’s confessed that the initial findings really surprised him.

“The image of a pig mating with an ape is not a pretty one, nor is that of a horde of monstrous half-humans breeding in a hybrid swarm.”
In his opinion, the way people came to be is not so important as the fact that people now exist, noting,
“As every Machiavellian knows, good things can emerge from ugly processes, and I think the human race is a very good thing.”

As tourists from various countries arrive the capital of Cross River State, Calabar, for the 2013 Carnival, the people of Ofodua in Obubra LGA have been thrown into mourning and disarray with the killing of about 20 people by some hoodlums over a chieftaincy tussle.
According to Leadership, over 20 people were slain and property, including residential buildings, motorcycles, assorted cars, refrigerators and electronics and etc., worth over a billion naira, was destroyed.
The clash has erupted between Va-Egbe village and Va-Egba, Iva Ibetono, Iva Awinotogbe, Iva Obeten over who succeeds the late monarch, Chief Oden.
Scores of the Ofodua indigenes were arrested and detained in police custdy at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Diamond Hill, Calabar, with others escaping to neighbouring communities.
It was further learnt that the communal clash stemmed from the demise of the Ofodua Clan Head, Chief Oden who was said to have come from the royal family of the community.
A youth leader, Mr. Stephen Ovat told the reporters that the Ofodua Clan Headship was monarchical and they had already commenced the process of crowning the next chief from Va-Egbe, the royal household, when some people plotted and invited a Lagos-based commercial motorcycle operator, Mr. Festus Egbe to return home to be crowned.
