|  OAP personality Fade Ogunro lost her dad in the early hours of yesterday morning. He was shot dead by armed robbers as he left his Church Christmas Carol service at Marwa Garden in Ikeja. Fade says her dad prayed for forgiveness for the robbers who shot him before he passed away. What she wrote below... "In all situations give thanks. |  24 hours After Jonathan’s Reply: Obasanjo Faces Investigation December 24, 2013 Barely 24 hours after President Goodluck Jonathan’s reply to an earlier letter written to him by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, the nation’s security agencies have concluded arrangements to “interview” the former leader, for him to “explain details” of some of the allegations he made in the letter. LEADERSHIP gathered that but for the absence of the former leader from the country, an inter-departmental team of the nation’s security apparatus was on the verge of visiting Obasanjo in Abeokuta or at his farm in Otta, Ogun State on the mission, which a source called “routine”. It was also gathered that even though President Jonathan had in his response to the former president’s letter given indications that relevant security agencies would probe some of the allegations in the December 2, 2013 letter sent to him, the move to investigate had indeed been concluded before the president’s letter that was released to the press Sunday night. According to the source, the inter-departmental security team has in it representatives of the Department of State Service (DSS), National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Police. Regardless of the arrangement, the source said it was not meant to be an invitation, as such could be misinterpreted as government’s moving against those with dissenting voices. “The best the security agencies can do under this circumstance is to interview the former president for us to be given the opportunity to know from him what the nation’s security community did not know before now. “You ought to know that security apparatus does not work like politicians; anywhere and whenever politicians have problems, security agencies tend to steer clear, because they know how they settle their differences. “But in this case, certain issues have been unravelled in form of allegations in the said letter, which in the thinking of those in the best position, requires that further information be sought from the former president. “But the only thing is that he has to be given first charge respect as a former president of the country; it is either the team visits him in Abeokuta or in his Otta farm or anywhere he deems necessary, in order for him to explain details to the team,” he said. The Yoruba adage says, ‘The man with whose head coconut is broken may not live to savour the taste of the succulent fruit.’ Those who advise you to go hard on those who oppose you are your worst enemies. Democratic politics admits and is permissive of supporters and opponents. When the consequences come, those who have wrongly advised you will not be there to help carry the can. Egypt must teach some lesson.” When contacted the special adviser to the president on political matters, Ahmed Gulak said, “Whether or not the security agencies have set up a team to either have audience with the former president or not remains within the purview of the security agencies. |  Nearly a month after kidnappers seized the 83-year-old father of a former Super Eagles player, Chikelue Iloenyosi, in Anambra State, the victim has yet to regain his freedom. The victim, identified as James, was kidnapped on November 25, 2013. Following the kidnap, his family was contacted after which N50m ransom was demanded. It was learnt that after negotiations, the family paid the kidnappers an undisclosed amount over two weeks ago. A relative of the victim, who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, said after collecting the ransom, the kidnappers had refused to release the octogenarian. He said, “We reached an agreement with the kidnappers and we were told to drop off the money at a particular location two weeks ago. The money was dropped and the kidnappers called us to acknowledge receipt. “They also promised to release papa that night, but they have turned off their telephones and we could not get across to them.” Our correspondent learnt that the State Security Service, the Nigerian Army and the police were all investigating the matter. | Boeing 747 Wing 'Cuts' Johannesburg Airport Building, at Least Four Injured (PHOTOS)  A plane carrying more than 200 people has struck an office building while preparing to take off from the South African city of Johannesburg. The British Airways flight to London was taxiing at OR Tambo International Airport when its right wing hit the building, injuring four people inside. South Africa's Civil Aviation Authority said the aircraft had travelled down a taxi-way that was too narrow for it. The incident involving the Boeing 747-400 happened late on December 22, 2013, Sunday. The control tower "told them to take one taxi-way and they took another one. They took a wrong one," said aviation authority spokeswoman Phindiwe Gwebu. Passenger John Hart told the BBC: “We were just taxiing along and then boom!” He said the captain described it as a “little incident” but everyone on the right-hand side of the plane could see what had really happened. None of those on board was injured but four ground staff in the building were hurt. "They sustained slight injuries and are fine," a spokesperson for Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) told Eyewitness News. Mr. Hart said the passengers were allowed to leave the plane after about an hour but because of the fuel spillage they had still not been able to reclaim their luggage. The aircraft has since been moved and operations have not been disrupted, ACSA says. In a statement to the BBC, British Airways said all 182 passengers were provided with hotel accommodation and alternative flights are being arranged. | When on December 14, 2013, 18-year-old Ikenna Onyeizu and 21-year-old Moses Aiyenuro, attended a Christmas party at Dele Hotel, Ijora Badia area of Lagos State, little did they know that they would not return home. photo Residents of the area told PUNCH Metro that the two boys were killed by drunken policemen attached to Ijora Badia Police Station around midnight. Our correspondent also learnt that another youth, Mike Banji, was also shot by the policemen but survived. Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, had told our correspondent last week that the boys were stabbed to death by some hoodlums during a fight that broke out at the hotel. Braide had said when the police arrived at the scene, the boys were rushed to the hospital where they eventually died. “There was a stampede at Dele Hotel where they were holding an end-of-the-year party around 11pm on December 14. Hoodlums engaged in a fight with machetes and bottles. Moses Aiyenuro was slashed on the neck. A team of policemen from Ijora Badia Police Station rushed to the scene and rescued him, Ikenna and another unconscious person. “Moses was confirmed dead at the hospital. Hoodlums attacked the police station demanding the release of their colleagues and five suspects were arrested.” However, a medical report signed by Dr. Durojaiye of the Lagos Island General Hospital, stated that Ikenna was shot in both legs. PUNCH Metro also learnt that Moses, whose corpse was deposited at Mainland Hospital, Yaba, was killed by a bullet that pierced through his neck and collar bone, and not a machete cut as claimed by the police. When our correspondent visited the family of the two slain boys on Sunday, sympathisers were seen consoling the family. Ikenna’s father, Mr. Michael Onyeizu, told our correspondent that with the loss of his son, life had become unbearable. He said, “I am 50-years-old and I am an umbrella repairer; Ikenna was my only son and I have just one daughter left. He was neither a trouble maker nor a thief. I have struggled all my life and it was my hope that he would bring me out of poverty, but police killed him. “He just finished secondary school and he was working as a waiter in a nearby hotel to support me. After he was killed, I went to the station to find out what happened, but I was chased out and the policeman on duty even threatened to detain me. “I don’t have money to pay any lawyer; but I want justice and money to bury my son.” When our correspondent visited the family house of Moses, his mother and pregnant wife were seen crying. Moses’s mother said, “This is the second son that I will be losing. Moses was not a cult member. He did not drink or smoke. Police have been embarking on raid, arresting innocent people, and demanding money from them before they are released. Moses just got married last month and his wife is pregnant.” A friend of the deceased, who craved anonymity due to the sensitivity of the case, told our correspondent that Moses was shot at close range. He identified some of the killer policemen as Soji and Emma. He said, “We were having fun at the party when some hoodlums started fighting over a girl. Policemen had been hired by the hotel to provide protection that day, but they went on a drinking spree. When the fight started, they came back and started shooting, but by then, those fighting had fled. “Among the policemen, I saw Soji and Emma shooting and one of the bullets hit Ikenna on the legs. Moses and I carried Ikenna to the police station to get a police report so that we could take him to a hospital for treatment, but they started shooting at us again so we fled. “One of the policemen grabbed Moses by the shirt and shot him at close range and killed him. They put his body in a patrol vehicle and beat me and I fell unconscious.” Moses’s elder sister, Funmilayo, who also witnessed the incident, said she pleaded with the policemen to leave her brother but she was pushed into a gutter where she remained unconscious only to wake up to hear that her brother was dead. PUNCH Metro learnt that the Office of the Public Defender, a department under the Lagos State Ministry of Justice had taken over the case. The Secretary, Lagos Marginalised Communities Forum, Ishola Agbodemu, berated the police over the killing of the two youths. Agbodemu accused the police of high-handedness and urged the government to ensure that the killer cops were brought to book. | Most of you here must have known me as a blogger. The truth is I work at IJMB centre here in Ilorin. I was working as a secretary at a centre, not recently I moved from the centre to another centre named Leadership Seekers Academy. So IJMB have always be part and passle of me. DON'T MY USE OF ENGLISH PLEASE, It does seems I'm owning so many of my English lecturers school fee. LOL  So if you are the type that is contemplating going for IJMB, do ask me question, I promise to be as sincere as possible.

Q. What is IJMB?
A. IJMB means Interim Joint Matriculation Board. Is a federal government program that is being supervised by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Before, it's only program used by students to gain admission into Nigerian universities, before federal government comes up with JAMB. But now, we can say IJMB is a program to set up to put an ease to students admission difficulties, as it's easier to gain admission with it, than JAMB.
Q. Does IJMB Result Expires?
A. Yes, it does, it used to be 15 years, as of now, it's now seven years
Q. How difficult Is IJMB?
A. IJMB is as difficult as your WAEC, NECO, GCE because is an external exams. That is why you have to choose good centres, that do follow the syllables and the lecturers that have gone through IJMB before. Passing it is as difficult as reading your books. What I mean is, when you fail to read your book, you will fail it - no doubt about that. When you find it easy to read despite the need to 2go, facebook, whatapps, tweet and you decided to read. Then you are in the right track
Q. Is Leadership Seekers Academy A Private IJMB Institution?
A. Yes, it's a private institution, and I can say our school fees, is moderate, at #90,000 for the school fees, #20,000 for the hostel fees and #8,000 for the form for now. Which all make it #118,000

Q. Is There Any Hidden Charges Except School Fees?
A. Well, no one will tell you this except me, why I'm telling you this? Many of our students came to meet me when they were asked to pay #12,000 for the "exam charge" last year. It happened the previous year too, then it was #10,000. They have always being a hidden charge when the exam is just a month or three weeks to the exam, but we can't add it to school fees (because we will spend it, and the truth is, it is for exam). I promise no other place you be told until the exam comes so near. And they may even tell you, no other charges except the school fees now. It has alway being between #10,000 and #15,000, it can never be more than that.
Q. What Other Materials I Needs For The IJMB Program?
A. Your textbooks and IJMB past questions. Soon I will list the textbooks you need for an IJMB program and the prices, and whether you can have them cheaper at your place or here in Ilorin. If you can have them cheaper at your place, that's good for you, that means you can start reading them before you come down

Q.Where To Go To Buy The IJMB Form Online Now?
A. If are still very young, go with your elder sister/brother parents and go to the nearest cyber cafe with your PASSPORT, and O'LEVEL result, if you already have them with you, and if you want to use your awaiting, just click the appropriate session while filling the IJMB form. How Easy To Pass An IJMB Exam?
Personally, the percent rate of people passing IJMB are much higher than any other exams despite being seen as very difficult. Every year at least 70& of people writing the examination do have up to 8 to 10 points while at least 88% do have the minimum points admittable to Nigerian universities which is 5 points. Just like I have always tell students, be sure of what you are coming down for, don't come in a way that when we start asking you questions you are not even sure of what you want for yourselves.
Q.I Don't Have Mathematics And English Language In My O'level?
A.Well, if''s just the two or one of the two you don't have in your Ordinary certificate, you have the opportunity of writing them during your IJMB exam without necessarily writing another WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB. So I think is a plus one for you
Can I Write JAMB while Doing IJMB?
Yes, in fact we do advise our students to do so, at least it help them to kill two birds with a stone.
Does It Mean If I Don't Get Admission With IJMB After Running The Program Is A Waste?
A. No, IJMB is an impact you will forever felt in all through your lifetime. Because when you go through it, most things you will be thought in your year one and two, will mostly be like a revision to you. If later you don't get admission with it, is never being a waste. But, you can have my words that the possibility of you being admitted through IJMB in Nigeria institutions is very much higher than using JAMB. Trust my words for that, I have being in this IJMB for few years now. I have reached a point where someone will just come up and say I don't know what I'm saying
What Is The Possibility Of Gaining Admission With IJMB?
A. Very few students know about IJMB, I think every year ABU Zaria registered less than 20,000 IJMB students comparing to JAMB that over 1.5 million students sat down for it annually. Comparing to universities, over 80 percent of federal universities accept IJMB including states while we all know that all universities accept JAMB but comparing the them, I'm sure you can figure out the possibility

|  The Supreme Court upheld the death sentence given to three men for robbing a woman of N50,000 at gun point. The convicts, identified as Kayode Babarinde, Akeem Haruna and Yusuf Nurudeen, had earlier been sentenced to death by hanging by the Kwara State High Court and the Ilorin Division of the Court of Appeal. The three convicts were charged before the Kwara state High Court in Ilorin on a two-count charge of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery contrary to section 97 of the Penal Code and Section 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap. R 11 Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The trio was alleged to have robbed Mrs. Ruth Alabi of the sum of N50,000, threatening her with a locally made pistol at Baba Oloya Street, Jebba, on August 18, 2007. Each of the accused persons pleaded not guilty to each count of the charge. The high court found each of the accused persons guilty as charged on each of the counts. They were sentenced on September 26, 2009, for two years of imprisonment on the count of conspiracy and death by hanging on the count of armed robbery. Dissatisfied with their conviction and sentence, the trio appealed to the Court of Appeal in Ilorin, but their appeal was dismissed. Still dissatisfied, they appealed to the Supreme Court. In a lead judgment delivered by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, their appeal was found to be unmeritorous and was therefore dismissed. “I find no reason to disturb the said finding and conclusions of the lower court. In effect the appeal lacks merit and is hereby dismissed,” the Justice said. | | | | |

Adewale made available said that the victim in question Tomide Babadipe was not defiled as alleged by her parents. The girl, on interrogation by the police had said the man just fiddled with her private part and did not penetrate her, but the parents insisted on the contrary, prompting medical tests by the police. “The police is trying to take her to the hospital so that a proper medical examination will be done to determine the fact of the matter,” Ogodo had said. |  A father in Yemen has asked not for money but for one million Facebook "likes" as dowry for his daughter's hand in marriage. Yemen is one of the oldest centers of civilization in the Near East, and is a very traditional society. But one marriage there has been given a very modern twist. Instead of asking his daughter's husband-to-be for a dowry payment, Salem Ayash, a poet from the city of Taiz, has asked for one million Facebook likes. That's a lot in a country of just 25 million, where internet use is limited. The story has made big waves on social media there, with countless bloggers writing urging people to support the page so the couple can get married. The page was set up on Sunday and has 30,000 likes so far. No-one in Yemen can afford dowries anymore, locals say, explaining why the father's asking for a digital dowry - rather than gold or money. The fact that many young men cannot afford dowries, and so cannot get married, is a hot topic in Yemen - with numerous attempts over the past few years to set a maximum legal amount. Neighbours often club together to help pay a dowry - which is set by the father of the bride - and mass marriages are becoming more popular as a way of making it more affordable. Those commenting on Salem Ayash's Facebook page seem divided on whether it's a good idea or not. Many have thanked him for raising the issue of dowry payments, but others have questioned his motivations. "All you want is to use your daughter to seek fame," writes one - noting that the Facebook likes are for his own personal page, rather than that of his daughter or her husband-to-be. Ayash says he wants to see evidence his future son-in-law is making an effort to raise the one million Facebook likes - but he won't be rigid.
