Mr Eric (33), who lives at Jejelaiye Street in Olodi Apapa, Lagos state, woke to the bright Friday, Valentine day morning, strong and smarting to see Bolanle his heartthrob for a pre-planned early day Valentine date. Unknown to him, Bolanle his girl who also live around Wilmar Crescent in Olodi Apapa, Lagos, was double dating. Eric according one of his friends borrowed money to buy Valentine gift to his girlfriend.

Eric went to pick Bolanle around 10am for a breakfast in a near by Buka (Restaurant) and later they proceed to their love nest. On embarking near Godday Cinema, Bolanle’s second and richer boyfriend emerges with 3 other guys and accosted them. They interrogated Eric and he innocently confessed that that Bolanle is his love, which enraged Bolanle’s second boyfriend. He ordered his ‘guy’ to teach Eric a lesson of his life.

The picture is what remain of the lover boy, Eric, when he woke up in a Hospital near Tin can, Apapa, after he was thoroughly panel-beaten. As at the time of this post, Bolanle is still at Eric’s bed side, while the visibly shaken Eric have not said a word to her.

Two reliable sources in Abuja have told SaharaReporters that First Lady Patience Jonathan was flown out to a German hospital for treatment.

One source stated that President Jonathan's wife was secretly moved out of Abuja almost a week ago.

Earlier last year, SaharaReporters broke the story of Mrs. Jonathan's secret hospitalization in Germany for a series of serious health problems.

"She was flown out about a week ago," a source at the Presidential Villa told our correspondent. He added that he was not aware of the First Lady's immediate ailment.

One source disclosed that Mrs. Jonathan had kept a low profile several weeks before her removal to a German hospital.


"She has not been in good health for a while now," said a source close to the Jonathan family.

Mrs. Jonathan's spokesman had claimed last year that the president's wife was not sick but had traveled abroad to rest after hosting a meeting of African First Ladies. However, Mrs. Jonathan herself later admitted that she had been gravely sick, crediting God with rescuing her from a comatose state.

A political source in Abuja wondered why the First Lady's medical trip to Germany is shrouded in secrecy. "Nigerians are paying for her treatment and deserve the courtesy of being informed about her movement," said the source. He added that the woman's frequent trips abroad showcased the failure of her husband's administration as well as previous regimes in Nigeria.

The shocking story of how this woman, Ms. Oluchi Merife (maiden name) was delivered of a male child after 4 years of pregnancy has continued to dominate discussions in and around the Oji-River area of Enugu State.

Before she was finally delivered of he baby on December 13th, 2013, Oluchi a mother of two, who hails from Ndiagbor in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, had to be abandoned by her husband Azuka Uchendu when she couldn’t deliver after two years. The woman who narrated her 4-year ordeal to Sun at Oji-River alleged that at a point her husband taunted her with the pregnancy saying that she merely had a swollen stomach.

She also disclosed that her husband who hails from Mgbidi in Awgu LGA of Enugu later eloped with another woman when the crisis continued. According to her:

“I took-in in 2010 and was attending ante natal clinic. By the 5th month I was given date for delivery. But at the sixth month I started seeing my period again; at the hospital they told me that the child was going down and wasn’t growing any longer..."They sent me for an ultra sound scan which was negative indicating that there was no child in the womb. In 2012 a man gave me some money and asked me to go The Lord’s Chosen headquarters in Lagos that I will be freed. I went as directed but nothing happened. By then my husband had left me and went to live with another woman in Ituku. I continued running around for solution to my problem; I packed out from where we were staying at Dodo in Oji and moved down to Achi.

“While the hospitals say that the baby was no longer there, prayer houses kept telling me that I was carrying a male child and that his name will be Jeremiah. They continued to pray for me throughout 2012.

“In 2013 a man of God Pastor Faith told me that I was carrying a male child. He also said that seven years after his delivery I should hand him over to a pastor. After a crusade in 2013 I started feeling something in my womb as though someone was cutting a tape inside me. After that a Pastor called Sunny from Enugu asked me to go for ultra sound scan that God has destroyed what was used to cover the baby.

“Just as the Pastor prophesied, the ultra sound scan showed that I was seven months pregnant.

Afterwards I continued going for prayers and was later given December 12 date for delivery. But the date came and passed without any signs of labour so the next day being Friday December 13th I went to Bethsaida (The Enugu healing water).

“I went to the river and poured out my heart to God; I told Him that my husband had abandoned me; that my husband’s people taunt me that I wasn’t pregnant that I was carrying leather; while my husband says I had swollen tummy.

"I asked God to show that He is God and shame the devil by delivering me of the baby. I also told God that I wouldn’t want to go through caesarian operation but should have safe delivery. After my visit to Bethsaida on Friday the next day I went into labour and by 3:30 am on Sunday I was delivered of this baby boy who I have named Jeremiah as the men of God prophesied.”

The woman who said she has not heard from her husband or his family since she delivered appealed to well meaning Nigerians to assist the new born baby and her 7-year-old daughter as they live on charity without any major means of livelihood

“It wasn’t about money. It’s just that we both agreed that we are better apart. Dillish isn’t just physically beautiful, she is also amazing and I respect her’.

Appeal for privacy :

“We both need our privacy and we love each other and probably always will so we need our privacy” Gaeseb said yesterday. He added that him and Dillish still remain in contact and are friends. He said contrary to rumours, he had not impregnated another woman.

Dillish and Flavour: Asked about rumours that Dillish is dating Nigerian singer Flavour N’abania, Gaeseb said he doubts that she is.

“I doubt Dillish is seeing Flavour, but if she is, then it won’t be to spite me. Dillish isn’t a spiteful woman. It’s not her kind of thing.”

Gaeseb also responded to rumours that some journalists are in possession of naked photographs of Dillish, which was allegedly on a laptop stolen from him. He said his laptop was never stolen.

“I’ve heard about the rumours that my laptop was stolen and that’s how someone got naked photos of Dillish, but those rumours are not true and I haven’t had any laptop stolen. It’s sad that others want to capitalise on this beak-up,” he said. Gaeseb added that right now he just wishes the rumours will end. “The pregnancies and the cheating rumours are all ridiculous. I wish people will give us our privacy and let it go now.”

Fans of Seun Kuti have aired their views about one of the names he gave his newly born daughter with girlfriend, Yetunde.

Seun who welcomed his daughter on December 14, had her christened at his Ikeja home on Saturday, Feb. 8. He named her Oyindamola, Ifafunmike, Adara Anikulapo-Kuti. Apparently, the name Ifafunmike which means the gods have put her in my care, didn't go down well with his fans who condemned him for walking in his father's traditional belief.

A Federal High Court in Kaduna has set March 17, 2014 for judgment on a case challenging the eligibility of President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the presidential election in 2015.

The suit was brought before the court by two members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Richard Mnenga and Shuaibu Lilli.

The plaintiffs through their lawyer, Abiodun Owonikoko (SAN) had also asked the court to order the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to restrain the PDP from accepting the nomination of Jonathan as a presidential candidate in the 2015 election.

In the suit filed on October 7, 2013, the plaintiffs contended that President Jonathan would have completed eight years in office as president by 2015, calculated from May 29, 2007 and therefore sought a declaration that he is not entitled to a tenure exceeding eight years calculated from 2007.

Citing Section 308 of the Constitution, the plaintiffs argued that if Jonathan is allowed to contest the 2015 presidential election and re-elected, he would have ended up spending 10 years as president, which contravenes the constitution of Nigeria that permits only eight years for president.

Counsel to President Jonathan, Fabian Ajoku (SAN), however, argued that the plaintiffs lack “locus standi” to bring the matter before the court, adding that the suit is abusive to the defendant and as such wants the court to dismiss the suit.

Adjourning the case, Justice Evelyn Anyadike, said that all submissions by the counsels to both parties would be considered and judgment would be delivered on March 17.

According to the judge, due to the urgency of the case, especially with the approaching electioneering year, she would deliver judgment on the said date, to permanently lay the matter to rest.
