| Members of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) are now to carry out an oath exercise denouncing any trace or affiliation for homosegxwality before they can take up any leadership position in the church. The church which has over the years held strong opposition against homosegxwality included this oath taking into its constitution recently.  Yesterday, the first oath-taking against homosegxwality was conducted at the St. Matthews, Maitama, Abuja branch when new members of the Parish Church Council were sworn in by the Vicar of the Parish, Ven. The oath taken text reads "I declare before God and his Church that I have never been a homosegxwal/bisegxwal or (have repented from being homosegxwal/bisegxwal) and I vow that I will not indulge in the practice of homosegxwality/bisegxwality. “If after this oath I am involved, found to be, or profess to be a homosegxwal/bisegxwal against the teachings of the Holy Scriptures as contained in the Bible, I bring upon myself the full wrath of God and subject myself willingly to canonical discipline as enshrined in the constitution of the Church of Nigeria, so help me God".While administering the oath, Vicar Idume stressed that henceforth no one who has any trace of homosegxwality or bisegxwality will be allowed to take up any leadership role in the church. |  Men of the state police command on February 15th arrested three of six students of Kwara State College of Health and Technology, Offa, who allegedly raped their female colleague in the institution to a state of unconsciousness. Parading the suspects to journalists in Ilorin on Friday, the state Commissioner of Police, Ambrose Aisabor, said the female student was drugged by the six suspects before they raped her. He said that the suspects raped the victim “mercilessly until she became unconscious.” Continue... Aisabor, who said that the victim had been admitted at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) in Ilorin for treatment, assured that the remaining three suspects who were at large would be apprehended and brought to book alongside their arrested colleagues. The police boss said items recovered at the scene of the incident included three used condoms, a bottle of Ponche liquor, one red lady’s pants, a pair of lady’s shoes and one Samsung handset belonging to the victim. | 'He Lured Her Into His Room' - 49-Year-Old Man Remanded For molesting 11-Year-Old Girl  An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded a 49-year-old man, Adedoja Lateef, in prison custody for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl.
Prosecutor Wilson Mereti told the court that the accused committed the offence on Feb. 21, at Ologini village, Ifetedo.
Mereti said the accused, who lives in the same neighbourhood with the victim, lured her to his room on the pretext of sending her for an errand. He said after getting her into his room, he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her without her consent. The prosecutor said problems began after the girl had reported the incident to her mother. He said the offence contravened Section 31(1)(2) of the Child’s Right Law of Osun, 2007. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. The Chief Magistrate, Mr Adebayo Lasisi, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody and directed his counsel, Mrs Bose Dada, to file a formal bail application. According to an eye witness,the robbers arrived the church at about 12:30pm then told all members to face the ground. .com can authoritatively confirm that the roobers killed 2 policemen outside the church,the service was disrupted and robbers went away with money,phones and other items .  As of the time of this report,Some members sustained injuries and they have been rushed to a nearby hospital. Rev Sola Kolade,the presiding pastor of the church was not hurt,the robbers spent only fifteen minutes in the church and members were asked to go home at about 12:50pm.
