Mallam Misau, who passed from the undisclosed illness at the age of 67, became famous after the photo of him sleeping during the conference went viral in the social media.
Speaking with Sahara Reporters, cousin to the deceased, Barrister Mohammed Hamma, confirmed the information adding that a Muslim funeral will be soon held in Bauchi.

Men in North Korea have been ordered to get the same haircut as their Dear Leader, Kim Jong Un, according to media reports.

State-sanctioned “fashion guidelines” were introduced in Pyongyang, North Korea’s capital, about two weeks ago and are now being applied across the country, the Korea Times reported Wednesday.

In recent photographs, Kim Jong Un can be seen wearing his hair relatively long on top, short at the back and closely shaved on the sides. Soon, all the other men in the country will sport this style, too, media reports said.

A former Pyongyang resident now living in China said many consider Kim Jong Un’s hairstyle to be unpopular, telling Radio Free Asia that until the mid-2000s, “we called it the ‘Chinese smuggler haircut’,” because those who had a similar haircut were thought to look like smugglers.

Another said many did not want to get their leader’s haircut, saying it is “very particular, if you will.”

“It doesn’t always go with everyone, since everyone has different face and head shapes”, he told Radio Free Asia.

Senator Bala Mohammed of the Federal Capital Territory cleared the air on today's explosions that occurred in one of Abuja's shops.
In an official statement, the Minister said it was not a bomb, but rather a gas explosion at a shop located at Shagari Plaza on Moshood Abiola Way, opposite the ever-busy Area 1 shopping Centre, Garki District, Abuja. The Minister urged the residents and visitors in the area to continue with their legitimate activities.
It would be recalled that a cooking gas retailer was refilling a gas cylinder for a customer when a series of explosions occurred at about 5 p.m. Customers and residents fled the area as they feared the explosions, which occurred in quick succession, were the work of Boko Haram and could be bomb blasts.
The retailer was reportedly injured while trying to drag the gas cylinder further from his shop, but it exploded in the process, causing burns up to his neck; the young man is now receiving medical treatment.
Other gas cylinders caught fire one after another and exploded as people watched from afar. Debris of cylinders flew and were scattered around the area.
Also, according to eyewitnesses, a seller of recharge cards escaped with a slight burn to the hand; he, however, lost his kiosk to the fire.
The men of the FCT Fire Service arrived promptly at the scene and put out the fire. Senator Mohammed advised members of the public to ignore the rumours of a bomb explosion in Abuja as baseless and false.
The FCT Command Public Relations Officer, Altine Daniel, said the situation is now calm in the area. He confirmed that the explosion was caused by a cooking gas and the heat, and two vehicles were damaged in the ensuing fire.

A 25-year-old Nigerian, Oscar was reportedly stabbed to death on Sunday around 8pm by a fellow Nigerian near Shalimar society in Kondhwa in Malaysia.
George Aimer, a Nigerian national is being accused of the murder and has been arrested by the Kondhwa police. He was nabbed while purchasing medicines to treat the injuries he sustained during the scuffle with Oscar.
According to officials they had alerted all the medical shops in the area to inform them the moment a foreigner approaches them to purchase medicines and when George got to one of the medicine shops, the owner called the police.
George was said to have stabbed him in the chest with a broken glass bottle.
His bloodstained clothes, shoes and the broken glass bottle from the crime scene were seized by the police.
The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained as investigation into the case is ongoing.
The duration of stay of the Nigerians is also being investigated to find out whether they possess valid passport and visa.
Confirming the incident, Inspector S.D. Pochorkar said, "An auto driver informed us that two foreigners were fighting near Shalimar society. By the time policemen reached the spot, Oscar had succumbed to the injuries. Investigation lead us to George Aimer, taken into custody as the prime suspect."

Majority Leader of the Rivers House of Assembly, Mr. Chidi Lloyd has been discharged and acquitted this morning by a High Court in Port Harcourt after been charged of attempted murder.

Mr Lloyd was alleged to have hit one Mr Michael Chinda on the head with a mace during a fight between supporters of Governor Ameachi and some legislators in 2013 and was arrested and charged for attempted murder.

While delivering the judgement, the judge said, there was nothing the court could do in the matter as the police was not willing to prosecute the case further, so he was discharged and acquitted.

A police officer in Ogun State today Thursday march 27th shot and killed seven people including his own wife, a 2 year old, and himself, Premium Times reports. The full report below...
Police Corporal Sunkanmi Ogunbiyi, attached to State Criminal Investigation Department of the Ogun State Police Command, went berserk on Thursday morning in Abeokuta.
The rampaging policeman was said to be having matrimonial problems with Oluwatosin, his wife, who is also a police corporal attached to Obantoko police station in Abeokuta, the Ogun capital.
According to neighbours, following a quarrel between the couple, Oluwatosin moved, alongside their two children, to the house of a neighbour, their landlady.
Witnesses said Mr. Ogunbiyi arrived the landlady’s residence at about 7:02 a.m. and immediately opened fire on his wife. He also shot and killed the landlady, a 2-year-old toddler, and three others. He did not shoot at his children, who were also in the house.

Three other tenants also sustained gunshot injuries during the incident which occurred at 67, Ifelodun Street, Akingbala area of Obantoko, Abeokuta. The injured were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, where they are now receiving treatment.

Some neighbours told PREMIUM TIMES that the police corporal had in the past warned the landlady not to harbour his wife and children whenever the couple had any misunderstanding.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, later visited the scene to assess the situation.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement, confirmed the incident.
He said that Mr. Ogunbiyi and his wife had been having ‘domestic conflicts’ before Thursday’s killings.

“The Ogun State Police Command has deemed it necessary to react to the killing of six persons by a police Corporal Sunkanmi Ogunbiyi attached to the Ogun State Police Command,” the spokesperson said in the statement.

“The unfortunate incident occurred this morning Thursday 27th March, 2014 at 0758hrs when the said corporal, who had been having domestic conflicts with his wife, shot and killed six persons, with his rifle, including his wife, Woman Corporal Oluwatosin Faremi, the landlady in the house, a two-year-old baby girl and two males and one female, while another three persons sustained injuries and receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta. The said corporal, having killed these persons, shot himself dead immediately.

“The Commissioner of Police Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye has described the incident as unfortunate; and has visited the scene with other senior police officers in the command to assess the situation and sympathize with the relations of the deceased and members of the Akingbala Ifelodun Estate, Eleweran Area, Abeokuta, where the incident took place,” he added.

Mr. Adejobi said “The Command has therefore commenced thorough forensic investigation into the killing and promised to make sure justice is done in the matter.”

“ The commissioner of police however appeals to the general public to perceive the incident as one of the unfortunate social mishaps and not to judge the police with the incident, as the police is committed to protection of lives and property and will not tolerate any act capable of trampling on fundamental human rights of the citizens of Ogun State.”

Premium Times conducted an investigation into the scandalous case of N19.7bn released by the Central Bank of Nigeria for the purchase of police equipment, and concluded that the Ministry of Police Affairs had benefited from CBN funds as claimed by suspended governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

According to Premium Times, the MPA deliberately misled the House of Representatives in simulating ignorance of a presidential directive mandating the CBN to provide N19.7bn for police equipment, and in denying receipt of the funds. The MPA permanent secretary, James Obiegbu, claimed the ministry’s non-involvement with the funds when the House committee on public account, chaired by Solomon Olamilekan, reviewed the disbursement of the money earlier this week.
Two weeks ago Sanusi had revealed the details about the expenditures in a statement which was his response to government's allegation of financial recklessness against him.
The expenditure was spent on financing the purchase of new helicopters and security equipment for the police.
Sanusi said that the funds were released on President Goodluck Jonathan’s instruction, a disclosure that reportedly sought to underscore how Jonathan personally authorised some of the spending the CBN’s boss would later be condemned for by the presidency

However, at the House committee meeting on Tuesday the police denied knowledge of the funds, and the MPA, which supervises the police, distanced itself from the allocation.
The ministry, the police echelon, and the CBN, were all to appear before the committee.
The inspector general of police, Mohammed Abubakar, who was represented by the an assistant inspector general, Ilesanmi Aguda, said the police knew nothing about the CBN disbursement and that the MPA would be better placed to respond to queries on the matter.
But the committee chairman quoted the MPA permanent secretary Obiegbu as saying the ministry had nothing to do with the CBN money.
"The permanent secretary approached me formally and told me that they don’t know anything about the money," Olamilekan said.
Premium Times says that according to the documents it gathered and reviewed, Obiegbu was merely deceiving the committee chairman, as the MPA clearly requested for, and took delivery of the CBN funds.
These papers are said to show how the MPA initiated a memo in 2010 asking for the CBN intervention, followed through with an application for contract award clearance from the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and eventually awarded the contract for the purchases, having received approval from the president.
The ministry claimed it sought the intervention of the CBN because of the "enormous" cost of the contract.
The MPS said it had relied on three sources of funding: the 2010 budget, the CBN and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and contributions from the police reforms fund.
It is not clear, however, what the role of the NNPC was and how much it paid to the ministry, as only the money from the CBN were reflected in the communication between the ministry and the president.

Zimbabwe – Prostitutes in Bulawayo are having sex with their clients in church buildings.

Hard to believe as it may but such is the reality at Assemblies of God church and Zion Lamb of God church in Bulawayo. The two churches are both situated in Mzilikazi suburb, one of Bulawayo’s oldest suburbs which has given birth to a number of Zimbabwe’s greatest footballers.

Myzimbabwe reported that there is a beer hall in Nguboyenja suburb where hard core prostitutes hook up with their clients and agree to lease their ‘non perishable product’, at a fee of course, in either of these churches, depending on which one will be less occupied by the time of reaching the ‘sex deal’.

Mzilikazi residents who stay near the said churches confirmed that the houses of God have since been turned into a haven of fornication and adultery if not a head quarters of prostitution.

“What people are now doing here is very disturbing and unholy. People no longer respect god at all. They are now taking these church buildings as shelters for sex and prostitution. Even if I were to be sex starved too but I would have ‘do it’ in church,” said a resident who only identified himself as Baba Trust.

Another resident, Thembelihle Sibanda, also confirmed that the two churches have since been turned into commercial sex ‘factories’ where all styles and methods of sex are conducted.

“This place is now more of a brothel than a church. In the morning we find used condoms scattered all over. We will be forced to pick them up early in the morning before our kids ‘play’ with them,” she said.

An elderly woman, who only identified herself as Gogo MaKhumalo had no kind words for youthful prostitutes and their sex buyers for their alleged evil behaviour.

“Back in the day it was so strange to meet a thigh vendor at very respected places such a a church. That’s why nowadays there are so many diseases. During weekends there is always commotion as people emerge at the church in twos to have sex. You might think there is an all night prayer as they come in numbers,” she said.

The church didn’t have a proper and functioning lockable door as it is still under construction, hence the church leaders would merely close in prayer and leave the house of God at the mercy of the daring prostitutes.

One Moses Moyo who also resides in Mzilikazi said last week they had a meeting with the elders of the Assemblies of God church to discuss about the said evil happenings.

“Assemblies of God pastors now know what’s happening in their church. We have told them everything. A lot is happening in their church, that’s why you find lots of used condoms in their church as well as empty beer bottles. Last year, two dead bodies were found at this church and robbers also conduct some of their evil dealings there,” he said.

The chairperson of Mzilikazi residents Association, Ms Rodah Ngulube said last last Assemblies of God church members installed a fence on their church stand and also put on window frames but thieves and prostitutes stole them and it looks like this affected them big time,” she said.
