Forum / The Buzz Central / I Don't Like Marriage; I Prefer Love Relationship – Star Actress Clarion Chukwur |
on: 22-03-2014 06:23 PM
| Clarion Chukwurah is a household name among Nollywood stars and she doesn't like pretence. She says it the way it is, whether you like it not. Below is the actress told a reporter about marriage and love affair: Is it because of your children that you decided to cut out marriage? Yes. I made a choice. I had Clarence, but I didn’t get married to his father [Sir China Peters]. I got married to Brian’s father, but it didn’t work out. I made a choice and if I had to be married, my focus will have to be divided and somehow there will be some psychological upheaval in my children. This could be because of the fact that my father died while I was a child and my growing up was about my mum. I grew up in an environment, where the woman was focused on raising her children, so I made a choice. My mum would have gotten married again, but she made a choice. How do you manage marriage proposals coming your way? (Laughs) Why does it have to be marriage? Why can’t it be a relationship? No, no, no... I think a relationship makes it easier for both of us, you know. We each have our different and established lives. There are certain things you don’t start expecting the person to give up. This is because marriage means you have to give up one or two things. When you start expecting somebody to give up something for you, then, you start expecting cramping that person’s style. I think it is more convenient to love each another and each other’s best friend. Just be in a relationship and it will happen. You still look beautiful. So, what is the secret? I will say I am one of the luckiest African women. But then, I take very good care of myself. I am disciplined about what I eat. I’m a food person; I’m a liquid person; I’m a fish person and I take a lot of the Chinese tea and vegetables. I am someone who believes that cleanness is next to godliness. It is very personal to me. I am a spa person; I take care of my skin and I use the spa every month, no matter how busy I am. And naturally, I’m an elegant and graceful person; I carry myself well. Forum / The Buzz Central / Star Actress Escapes through Window as Lover's Wife Storms Hotel Room in Calabar |
on: 21-03-2014 09:03 PM
| My-oh-my! Nollywood will never get tired of churning out incredible but true stories. The newest one that just landed on our laps has to do with a star actress and her movie producer lover. Both of them had gone on a love tryst to the Canaan land of Calabar in Cross River State. This was on the set of the slim movie producer who hails from Delta State. A chronic womanizer, the man had camped the actress who has a baby (out of wedlock) in one of the hotels. No! They were sharing a room. Firing non-stop after every day’s production, news soon got the man’s wife in Lagos and without thinking about it twice, she flew down to Calabar where all hell was let loose. Arriving very early in the morning and taking her husband and his lover unawares, she was on the verge of bringing down the roof of the hotel when some of her husband’s production hands aided the actress to escape through the window. But to achieve this, they first took out the room’s air-conditioner from behind, and from that outlet, the actress eventually freed herself and was immediately ferried back to Lagos by one of the producer’s boys in his car. Dark skinned and of average height, the actress’ first name begins with the seventh alphabet. From the Eastern part of the country, her lover is a father of three, a tacky dresser, but one of the best hands we have around in that sector. Refusing obstinately to return to Lagos after the actress had escaped, a respected woman of God who is also into movies and based in Calabar had to be invited to talk to the now distraught wife into leaving. She, however, first followed the preacher to her house where she was pacified, counseled and ultimately appeased. But back in Lagos, she would neither let her husband nor the actress be. Things kept deteriorating until the camel’s back was finally broken. Now all by herself and giving her all to God, aka being born again, many are still talking about the foolishness of her action. Although her husband seems to care less as he is still frolicking with his numerous other women. Malaysian witch doctors try to locate missing plane (Photos plus Video) | | |

Forum / Politics / Rev. Chris Okotie writes on the NIS employment test tragedy |
on: 21-03-2014 04:12 PM
| See the rest of what he wrote after the cut... This tragedy mirrors the desperate situation of Nigeria. One only hopes that this unfortunate loss of lives, coupled with the incessant Boko Haram killings and other youth-based violence, would serve as a wake-up call to the summiteers, that this country needs a new governance paradigm. If the conference cannot produce that, then the over N7 billion invested in it would amount to another colossal waste of our scarce national resources. It is an irony that each delegate would earn a whopping N12 million for the 3-month duration of the conference. By conservative estimates, N12 million is enough to provide self-employment for 12 resourceful graduates, and N7 billion could do likewise for thousands, some of whom perished under chaotic conditions in stadia around the country, while waiting for a poorly organised aptitude test by the NIS. The young graduate job-seekers who turned out for the tests filled up many stadia around the country, as if they came to watch high-profile football matches. These hapless chaps paid N1,000.00 (One Thousand Naira) processing fee each. So, the Nigerian Immigration Service must have made quite some money, considering that in Lagos and Abuja alone, over 125,000 applicants turned up. We may be looking at millions of Naira that this monetised recruitment exercise generated for the NIS. There was record turnout in each of the 34 states for just 45,000 slots that the NIS advertised. The alarming job application horror is a clear evidence of the inability of our public institutions to manage events, resulting in poor crowd control and avoidable deaths through stampede. This is not an isolated case, it is a regular occurrence. When things go wrong, our leaders seldom take responsibility. The NIS has tried to duck charges of culpability, by claiming that it outsourced the recruitment exercise to a private firm which actually collected the N1,000.00 levy. As usual, a panel would be setup to investigate this incident, followed by a white paper, and then, the report may end up gathering dust in a cabinet somewhere in Abuja, while government officials focus on the more important 2015 general elections in a country where competition for political power is about resource control, not the promotion of the general good of the people. The fact that four expectant mothers died in this incident, with about 700 others reportedly injured, is enough reason why those who organised this event should not escape appropriate sanctions. Unfortunately, the Jonathan Administration is not known to punish errant public officials, although the NIS boss and the Internal Affairs Minister have been queried. In other countries where human life is valued, the President should compensate the victims and, more importantly, prevent a future re-occurrence. But the Federal Government has other priorities. For me, and also for the FRESH Democratic Party, which I lead, nothing else matters in our quest for a functional, self-accounting and representative democracy, than a fundamental change of the prevailing order which is responsible for our national predicament. It should be reasonably assumed that delegates to the conference would know this, but I have my fears. Many commentators have observed that the composition of the delegates to this National Conference is skewed in favour of the old politicians, and some of those who ran this country aground. How can we expect any meaningful change from this set of people? 20th century ideas cannot solve 21st century problems. If you look critically, the composition of the participants in this conference reflects the geriatric propensity of our polity. All the progressive nations of the world, especially those who have graduated from under-development to emerging markets, are being governed today by new sets of leaders, whose orientation reflects the new world order, and are thus able to successfully confront the challenges they encounter in their respective nations. As this NIS recruitment tragedy shows, our meal ticket educational system is not designed to drive industrial development or produce resourceful, self-employed folks who can create opportunities, rather depend on employment. The belated introduction of entrepreneur studies in the newly remoulded college curricula is like putting the cart before the horse. While vocational studies have been introduced, there are no teachers to instruct carpenters, electricians etc. I have long been advocating a shift in the paradigm of our educational sector, which should be anchored on Human Capital Development. Science subjects are foundation of technology. If I were the President, this would be the mantra that would drive my reform agenda because without a solid, qualitative, continuous stream of local production of graduates in the technical, or science-related courses, our dream of industrial revolution as recently articulated in a widely publicized launch by Mr. President, would be a mirage. The secret of Asia industrial miracle is that, leaders of that continent sent their students to Europe and America. The returning Asian students, who went to learn the technological wizardry of the West, laid the foundation of the technological revolution that produced the Tigers, who now threaten the scientific dominance of Europe and America. This is a model we could learn from. Rev. Chris Okotie, a Pastor-politician wrote from Lagos Exposed: TB Joshua Paid Me $100,000 To Deceive The Church Members (Must Watch) | | |

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / How to know pastors who are intruders – T.B. Joshua |
on: 21-03-2014 04:02 PM
| Revered Nigerian Prophet T.B. Joshua has engaged in an interactive session of questions and answers with his nearly 1,000,000 fans on Facebook, giving interesting insight into some contentious issues within Christianity. The session was tagged #AskTBJoshua and dealt with issues ranging from disunity in the church, abortion after rape and the proficiency of pastor’s children to misbehave. One reader surmised that pastors ‘don’t seem to be one’ today, asking Joshua what he felt was the cause. “We pastors, we are one,” Joshua, who is the founder of popular Christian television station Emmanuel TV, began. “However, a man may confess, ‘I am a pastor’ but not such in heart – intruders. We may bear the same name but we are not doing the same work.” He further noted that the identifying feature of a true pastor was contentment, adding that the disunity evident within Christendom today results from this essential component being absent. “True pastors are content. When you are content, you will not compare yourself with others or measure yourself by yourself. Doing so causes disunity.” Queried as to his doctrine on sin, Joshua said, “That you are a pastor does not mean you are not going to miss the mark or make a mistake,” evaluating that the mistakes of Christians actually intensified their zeal to serve God. “The mistakes of others keep them away from God but those of Christians strengthen their desire for God because they have a relationship with Jesus Christ already,” he stated. Further questioned as to why some fanatical devotees said they were ‘following T.B. Joshua’ and the suitability of such statements, Joshua quickly denounced the notion, quoting Jesus’ words in John 14:6 and stating, “T.B. Joshua can only point the way but is not the way.” Another fan asked whether Joshua had ever fallen sick, noting that they had never seen him publicly receive prayer or suspiciously miss a service. “That you are a pastor does not mean you are not going to be sick but our sickness is not like others. When sickness comes, we see the need of God the more,” he stated, citing the biblical example of Apostle Paul who had ‘a thorn in his flesh.’ A concerned reader asked whether the regular nightmares he experienced indicated he was not born again. Joshua quickly countered this assertion. “Anything close to Jesus receives attack,” he encouraged. “That you are regularly facing challenges does not make you an unbeliever. Don’t measure your Christian life by your situation.” Another question probed what Joshua’s weakness was. “As a Christian, when you are weak, then you are strong,” he simply stated. “Not mine, not mine the strength!” The cleric also added, in answering a question about debt, that borrowing money does not amount to sin as long as “you have the desire to pay it back.” Yet another question bordered on the difference between ‘Christians’ and ‘religious people’. “Religious people are without spirituality,” the pastor said. “We are only made Christians by living in the Word of God and by the Word living in us. True Christianity lies in the heart, in the purity of the heart.” A further question revolved around a scenario where a pastor prays for a sick individual who does not receive healing. “True ministers must know God’s will on a matter – whether it is the time to do so or not because challenges can be used to strengthen our desire for God,” Joshua wrote. “s the will of God be done. Because of Christ, we pray.” T.B. Joshua, who is known to be one of the most criticised pastors in Nigeria, was also asked about how he handled his persecution and the praise showered on him. “It is all about Jesus, not how I am treated or how I am doing. There can be no praise without rebuke.” He cited the need for gold to pass through a furnace as part of its refining process. “So also, human character must be tested in a real situation.” Joshua added his voice to the growing concern raised within the Christian community to the manner in which pastor’s children tend to become rebellious and wayward. “It is all about upbringing,” he stated. “When we fail to train our children the way we train workers in the vineyard who are under us, they are bound to misbehave.” Joshua stated that the children of pastors should see ‘Jesus as Father’ and their earthly father as ‘mentor’. “If we mentor them, we will bring the good out of them. If we father them, opposite is the case,” he concluded. Joshua was very clear-cut on the issue of masturbation, stating it was tantamount to fornication as it sprang from the desire for segxwal intimacy. “Once that desire is nursed, one is in bondage to the spirit of immorality. There is no other name to call it than sin,” he bluntly stated. He equally added that committing abortion, even in a circumstance where the pregnancy is a result of rape, was sinful. He added that the background of many heroic figures in society could be traced to such unsavory circumstances. T.B. Joshua, who made headlines recently for his prophecy about the missing Malaysian airline and the confession of a Boko Haram sect member in his church, is touted to be one of Africa’s 50 most influential individuals. His ministry, The Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), attracts a huge number of foreign pilgrims and has been hailed for its impact on Nigerian tourism. Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Terminally Ill Zoo Worker Receives Final Goodbye Kiss From Giraffe (PHOTO) |
on: 21-03-2014 03:58 PM
| A touching scene has been witnessed at the Rotterdam’s Diergaarde Blijdorp Zoo. A maintenance worker who suffers from terminal cancer asked to be wheeled into a giraffe’s habitat so he could say his final goodbye to the animals. Mario, 54, was wheeled into the enclosure on his hospital bed. Within minutes, the giraffes approached him and began to nuzzle and kiss him. "These animals recognised him, and felt that (things aren’t) going well with him," Kees Veldboer, the founder of the Ambulance Wish Foundation, said. "(It was) a very special moment. You saw him beaming." Various studies have suggested animals can sense illness in humans, including diseases with no visible symptoms. Ten Reasons Why We Love Dominican Girls [SEXY PHOTOS] | | | |
