A Policeman (names witheld), allegedly killed his 19-month-old baby after battering his wife in Benin, weekend.

Vanguard gathered that the incident occurred at a flat in Sam Enobakhare Crescent, off St. Saviour Road, Benin.

His wife said last Tuesday they were at home when her husband’s countenance suddenly changed and when she tried to find out why, he pounced on her.Contacted, Dr. Jolly Nosakhare Iguma, the Chief Medical Director of Jonos Medical Clinic where the baby was taken to, said a mother and her daughter brought in a dead baby a few days ago.

He said: “On close examination the baby was pale, yellowish, with tooth bite injuries on his face.

“Since the baby is not old enough to fight with any person, I wondered who bit the baby.

However, if he was brought in early enough, the baby would have been transfused with blood.

He may have died of jaundice.” When newsmen visited the residence weekend, it was deserted as neighbors claimed not to have seen any of its occupants in the past few days.

Contacted, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Foluso Adebanjo said he is yet to be briefed, but promised to comment on the issue later.

6  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / How Actor Yemi Solade Impregnated 18 Years Old Girl And Denied The Pregnancy on: 31-03-2014 01:33 AM
According to Global Excellence Yemi Solade has a love child of 10 years old.
“The mother of the daughter, Seun Olowolusi Obafemi, we reliably gathered engaged in a romance with this popular actor at a movie location 10 years ago when she was 18 years old.
When she realized that she was pregnant for the handsome actor, our source said she abandoned home to another destination for fear of her parents getting to know about the pregnancy at the initial stage.
Our finding revealed that she returned home to her parents when the pregnancy reached an advanced stage.
As we learnt, she had complications during delivery that she had to be operated upon before the baby came into life. Investigation revealed that it was after she delivered the baby that she told her parents that the actor, Yemi Solade was responsible for her pregnancy.
Seun’s parents eventually located the actor, Yemi Solade whom we learnt didn’t deny the pregnancy. According to them, he promised to take up the responsibility of the child but till now Yemi has neglected the child who is now in primary 5 at a school at Ire- Akari Estate in Lagos.
They learnt that it was after this that the actor impregnated another lady and they are happily married now.
It will be recalled that this is not the first time Yemi Solade would be involved in romance scandal. Few years back, a London based woman alleged that the actor planned to defraud her on the internet.
According to the woman, she stated that she became Yemi Solade’s friend on facebook and before you could say jack, the actor had shown intentions to date her but she let him understand that she is married.
All efforts to speak to Yemi Solade on this love child issue were futile as his number could not be reached.”

8  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / I can’t kill myself over a man –Stephanie Coker on: 30-03-2014 09:25 AM

Stephanie Coker
I am Stephanie Coker. I am an On-Air Personality and I am a full time TV presenter. I work for MTV Base Africa and Ebony Life TV.
I also act as Abigail on Tinsel. My father is from Badagry while my mother is from Abeokuta.
They are in the United Kingdom with my brother. I am just alone in Nigeria.
Growing up
I was born 25 years ago. I grew up in North London. I was five years old when my mother decided to have another child.
I was a little bit spoilt and very hyperactive. I loved dancing but I was also shy. I went to a drama school and won dancing competitions.
Music was a big influence in my life. Drama was also a passion but when it was taking up too much of my time, my parents advised me to drop it and focus on my studies instead.
I studied Mass Communications at Brunel University.Working in Nigeria
I think Nigeria is very fulfilling and that’s why a lot of people are moving back here.
For me, it has always been about the lifestyle.
I feel UK is very strenuous and there is a bit too much order.
You know what is going to happen next. It is not spontaneous, things don’t just happen, you have to plan. Though it is a good way to live, it can be a bit mundane and very boring.
MTV freedom presenter’ competition
It was in the United Kingdom. A skin care range company needed a presenter for a nationwide commercial and I won.
I was on internship in America at the time. My face was all over the UK and it was really good because I got to meet with other MTV presenters and they shared a lot with me.
From there, I continued to work, got a job with a Channel One Sky and we went to different communities to speak to people. We met the less privileged, ethnic minorities, disabled people who lived in communities where they were stereotyped.
Impact of winning
Winning the competition has influenced the way I relate to people. I am very jovial and I like to interact with different types of people.
When I first moved to Nigeria, I was staying in Ebute-metta with my aunt and people wondered why I should come back from UK and stay in such a place.
But it was fun and lively, the people there were real.
I love writing and coming up with new ideas.
I am a documentary type of presenter who loves factual television.
I love reading as well because it helps me interpret people and life. I love watching movies.
I am also trying to learn how to cook and I don’t eat out all the time. I can cook egusi and efo riro. Relationship
I love to marry a Nigerian man. I have always dated Nigerian men, even when I was in the UK. Most of my friends are Nigerians, Ghanaians or whites.
Stereotype on Nigerian men That Nigerian men are promiscuous.
It is just the way one deals with that. I am not accepting it and I am not saying one should tolerate it. There are also men in Nigeria who are not promiscuous.
Coping with a cheating partner It just shows the man has no respect for me.
I guess everybody deserves a second chance but they say once bitten, twice shy.
I am not a doormat, so he can’t keep doing it.
Once you get married to that person, there is bound to be a problem.
There are always circumstances and I don’t believe in killing myself over a man.
If you find somebody cheating, it is hard to trust the person again.
Turn off
I don’t like people who try to be what they are not. I don’t know how they keep up because it is very hard to do something that is not natural.
I love jewellery but you will not catch me wearing them.
I love to store jewellery but when it is time to wear, I am always finding it difficult. I always lose one earring, so I just gave up on earrings.
I love statement jewellery because they stand out.
My style has evolved over the years. When I was younger, I used to like wearing a lot of things at the same time.
I was always over the top. Now, I think I am calmer. I like bold colours like yellow, green, pink, red and print.
I like to have a say in my style.

9  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / I cannot marry a man who can’t perform — Crystal Okoye on: 30-03-2014 09:18 AM

Ebony beauty, Crystal Okoye hasn’t been around in Nollywood for more than two years but she has become an item film-makers court with courtesy and respect.
In a space of a year, when most of her peers were still looking to have a shot at a scene in a movie, Crystal, has done close to twenty, with more than 6 of those as the lead character.
She’s sexy, with a figure that could stir up commotion and this fact isn’t lost on the Nnamdi Azikwe University undergraduate who once boldly told me she has the best figure in Nollywood.
She said Mercy Johnson’s curves cannot even compare with hers.
Of course, that statement made her more enemies than friends, as scores of Mercy Johnson’s fans descended on her, trying to rip her apart with all sorts of insults. But seriously, if push comes to shove, Crystal has got a body, that could make the dead give up their graves, should she decide to take a walk through a cemetery.
She elicits emotions wherever she goes, making her an object of adulation but Crystal has ideas about the kind of man that could even get beyond her ground floor. “ A God-fearing and understanding man who will love me.
It doesn’t matter if he is rich or poor. What is most important to me is love and he has to be a complete man.
I am not one of those women who would tell you sex doesn’t matter, it matters a lot in a marriage.
If a man cannot perform I have no business with him.
You have to be a complete man to be with me.
I don’t pray to marry a poor man but a man who can comfortably take care of me.
I love sex, and I am not going to pretend I don’t.
I know most girls even fake orgasm just to please their partners but I am not that kind of girl” she said and that paints a picture, isn’t ?

10  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / I can date my colleague but can’t marry him — Lola Magret on: 30-03-2014 08:24 AM

Lola Magret has said she found herself in the Yoruba sector of Nollywood because she didn’t know who could introduce her into the English sector.
She has Bolaji Amusa aka ‘Mr Latin’; to thank for her first shot at glory in the make-believe business.
Once, there was a rumour that the beautiful actress was dating a politician, to which she reacted vehemently that she could never date a politician. And only recently she confessed to me that she cannot also marry somebody from the industry.
“ I can’t marry somebody from the industry because the marriage doesn’t last.
There is always lack of trust and understanding.
Though, there’s nothing bad about dating each other,” she said But I questioned her, why she would date somebody she doesn’t intend to marry.
“It’s not every relationship that leads to marriage, we are into relationships only to find out who may end up as the real one.
Anyway, I have a boyfriend.
He is the man in my life. I mustn’t tell you his name. He is okay with my profession.
I am not dating an actor.
My fiancée understands me and he understands my job. I love him and we intend to get married.
He is God-fearing. I love him so much and that was why I chose him”.

11  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Believe it or not, I’m still a virgin! — Adokiye on: 30-03-2014 08:20 AM
Seductively beautiful, fragile and provocative wave-making singer, Adokiye Kyrian, who became UN ambassador of Peace in less than five years of her climb onto the stage of music in Nigeria, is a hot item any day any time.
She never ceases to amaze and seems never to run out of bag of tricks to mesmerise fans and haters alike.
The Love You Better and Kulumo crooner, who only turned 23 yesterday has been called many names, and most of those have sexuality hanging around them.
So one could imagine my surprise and sheer incredulity when the singer opened up to me that she is actually a virgin. We were chatting about love and she was trying to convince me she doesn’t believe in love.
“ I really don’t like love”, she said “ I’m a career person, what I have for everyone including guys, is Agape love.
Love is wicked and there is no real love, I’m young and living the life. Until I see one, I’m happy like this” Then I felt she was beginning to sound like a woman who has had the love of her life run off with her best friend on her wedding day.
I could not help but asked if she had been pained by love before.
To which she retorted “Frankly, no”. But she told me she has seen enough of fake love around her to be cautious to whom she gives her heart .
“So, you aren’t in any relationship”, I queried.
“ Yes, actually, I’m in a relationship with my career, architecture is my husband and music/movie my boyfriend”, she replied.
Curious as usual, I felt this rising star may just have no one pulling her chestnut out of the fire for her, so, I took a swing at her but got one back that got me real reeling.
“You mean you are not getting laid or what?”, I returned, to which she cut me short “ Haba, what is a young girl getting laid for.
I’m still a virgin”. For a moment, I thought I hadn’t heard right and I guessed she thought so too.
“Why are you quiet? Haven’t you seen a pretty virgin before?
If you don’t believe me, you have seen one today.
Any man that buys my mum the private jet I promised her, wins my heart” she said.

16  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Man seeks divorce over wife’s HIV status on: 29-03-2014 09:21 AM

A 38-year-old civil servant, Silas Dodo, has prayed an Upper Area Court in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, to dissolve his marriage with his wife because she is HIV-positive. The News Agency of Nigeria
reports that Dodo, who lives at Masaka, Nasarawa State, told the court on Tuesday that he wanted to divorce the 35-year-old wife he married in 2007.Dodo told the court that his wife was found to be HIV-positive following a recent test they had. Dodo also told the court that he met his wife in 2002 at the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and they married in 2007, in a church. He said both he and his wife were screened on the church’s directive for HIV before their wedding, and the result indicated they were HIV-negative.
According to him, not too long after their marriage, his sexual relationship with his wife deteriorated as she started denying him of sex.
The complainant said his wife was always falling sick, a condition that compelled him to take her to several health centres for tests and she was subsequently found to be HIV-positive.
He said when he found that she was HIV-positive, he instructed his lawyer to write her and his church. Dodo told the court his wife later packed out of their matrimonial home in Masaka and went to live on her own at Auta Balaifi.
He tendered the result of the various tests on his wife to buttress his claim.
In her response the woman, who was not represented by a counsel, admitted that the HIV test results tendered by her husband were genuine.
Counsel to the complainant, Mr. Elisah Onaji, therefore urged the court to adjourn the case to another date.
The presiding officer, Mr. Vincent Gwahemba, adjourned the matter till March 31, 2014, for continuation of hearing.

17  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / I get countless marriage proposals every year — Nazareth Jesse Bako on: 29-03-2014 09:18 AM

It is not often you run into a northerner who is into the mainstream Nollywood instead of Kannywood.
Nazareth Jesse Bako started her flourishing career in 2001, but got her break in 2004, when she starred in ‘Girls’ Cot’ alongside notable Nollywood faces like Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, Uche Jombo, Ini Edo and Benita Nzeribe.
She is of the tribe of Gbayiza, one of the major natives of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. She has a BSc Degree in Economics from the University of Abuja.
In this chat with Showtime Celebrity, Naz, as she is called by friends, let us into her quiet world. Excerpts:When did you start acting and what made you chose acting as a career?
I started acting in 2004, but joined Nollywood 2001. My parents never liked it because they believed that girls who go into acting have to do a lot of amoral things, like sleeping around to get roles.
It took me time to convince them that I would never end up like girls who sleep with movie makers.
Later, they discovered that I have passion for acting as they allowed me to follow my dream.
I am happy that I have kept my word since I joined the industry. Which movie would you say launched your career?
Well, my very first film was ‘Girls’ Cot’, where I featured alongside senior colleagues like Genevieve Nnaji, Uche Jombo, Ini Edo, Rita Dominic and Benita Nzeribe.
But the film, I will say that really launched me was ‘Bitter Generation’. It was my very first big film and it had a huge cast, including Olu Jacobs, Ini Edo, Oge Okoye, Ali Nuhu and some others.
That film was produced by Stanley Ebonine and directed by Ifeanyi Ogbonna.
The film was about runsgirls who would do anything to get what they want.
It also involved rituals.
As an actress, what role you wouldn’t take on and why?
As an actress, I should be versatile, and I am versatile to the extent that I can take up any role as long as the producer is willing to comply with my terms.
What if the role comes with a bit of nudity, sex and plenty of sensual scenes ?
That is why I am an actor, I can do all that as long as the producer and whosoever is in charge of the movie complies with my conditions. What are your conditions?
Do you want to produce one of those movies?
That should only be known to a producer of such a movie.
Have you ever rejected a role before based on the script or as a result of your conditions not being met?
Yes I have. I can refuse to take part in a movie for many reasons. I have my principles and if a script doesn’t agree with certain beliefs I have, I am sorry, I may have to turn down the role.
As a beautiful, sexy woman, what has your experience been with men?
There is so much to say when it comes to men but I will put that in one Word “interesting”.
I got so many men coming after me; face to face,on social media, some, I don’t even know how they got my number, some travelled abroad just to meet me.
Most of them came with marriage proposals. Believe me, different calibres of men are always after me for a relationship.
Recently, one approached me on a flight. I was so shocked, I thought if I took a Business Class, I would be able to take a nap and shake off any intrusion from men but I was wrong.
Sitting close to me was a high society man and he was all over me, bugging me, all the way, throughout the flight.
Like how many marriage proposals do you get per year?
My dear, they are uncountable. But these days my friends are saying I should begin to give some of them serious consideration.
I am not in a hurry to settle down. When I see the right man, I will know it is time to settle down. You mean you don’t have marriage on your mind at all?
No, I do have it at the back of my mind but I am not desperate to get married. I know some of the proposals are not sincere, so, I am taking my time and waiting for the right man to come along.
So, why have you remained unmarried till now if you get such many proposals?
No comment on that. Like I told you before, when the right man comes along, I will know it is time. What will make you settle down with a man and how will you know this is him?
My kind of man is a man who is God-fearing, mature and caring.
Once you have a man who loves God, every other thing is secondary. I am matured enough to recognise all these virtues in a man. When I see a man who has these virtues, I may give out my heart completely.
So, even a poor man can have your hand in marriage?
There is nothing like a poor man in my diary.
But most poor men tend to be God-fearing?
They will go for their own class of women. I want to marry a ready-made man, not even one struggling to make it.
If you want my hand in marriage, you must have achieved success on your own and still possess all these qualities I have mentioned.
I was not born to suffer all my life. I have tried to get to where I am, so settling down would be resting and giving birth to my kids and taking good care of them
Are you in a relationship now?
I am sorry, I don’t discuss my relationships on the pages of a newspaper.
What has been your most challenging role in a movie and why?
That movie must be “Share The Blood” the one where I acted as a Reverend Sister.
The film was directed by Timothy Onu. The movie was so challenging because I couldn’t recite the Catholic prayers or is it the rosary and I wasn’t given enough time to study my character.
Besides, I felt it was something I would learn fast but it became very difficult, that at a point, I thought of quitting the set of the film. How do see the injection of soft porn into Nollywood films, some said it is the next level, that it will make films more acceptable in the western world.
What’s your opinion?
Well, as an African lady and also from northern Nigeria, our tradition kicks against such things. Besides, we already have too many cases of rape and nudity issues in Nigeria, so, why encourage more of these things by promoting pornography.
Injecting pornography into our films will only increase cases of rape.
Moreover, I don’t think it is something Nigerians will accept. We are too sensitive as a people and such films will only infuriate people more than getting them to buy into it.
I don’t agree that it is the next level. Movies are meant to impact something positive in our immediate society.
Porn movies by Nigerians will not help our society because hypocrisy is everywhere.
Even those that will love it will be the first to cry out against it. But you just said you could go Nood in a movie if your terms are met? And I haven’t told you what my terms are, have I? Part of my terms could be that I would not take part in such films in my country.
I know it is show business and we are actors but our people are just not equipped to deal with such innovation in our films.
How do you handle randy producers and directors?
I get friendly with everyone and get by.
Some said you cannot go through the industry without being sexually harassed, how true is this?
Maybe back in those days, but now, lots of girls and boys want to be on screen so bad they are ready to do anything.
What used to be is not any longer. The clock has turned anti-clockwise. Instead of the movie makers harassing the wannabe actors, it is now the wannabe actors who go after the film makers, offering all sorts of incentives.
I don’t want to talk more than that. Besides, sexual harassment is everywhere. It not only in Nollywood. These days, you hear cases of job seekers saying the owners of companies want to sleep with them before giving them jobs.
Would you marry a married man like some of your colleagues are doing?
No comment on that. It’s their choice.
Please tell me all about your background I was born in Jerusalem and brought up in Bida, Niger state.
My parents are from Kuje Area Council, Abuja, in the Federal Capital Territory. I am a graduate of Economics from the University of Abuja. My real names are Nazareth Jesse Bako.
Why were you named Nazareth? I have never asked my parents. But my father always told me I am untouchable, and that is the meaning of the name ‘Nazareth’ Or could it be because you were born in Jerusalem?
I don’t think so. I think they lost their first child and when they gave birth to me they decided to name me ‘Nazareth’,
meaning ‘untouchable’.
I think they must have had some certain feeling about not wanting to lose me after they lost the first child. I am now the first child of the family.

“Dark complexioned Orilowo is 47 years old, 5.7 Feet tall and has brown eyes.
He speaks English and Yoruba fluently.
His last known address is No. 1 Otunba Adeniyi Street, Papa-Epe, Lagos.

Though, close friends hinted Orilowo may have sneaked out of the country to Canada to escape arrest, the declaration by the EFCC was due to one business that went awry.
They are confident that he will return soon and clear all the grey areas involving a top telecom company and a leading bank.
Orilowo has his hands in many pies including property, dredging, and oil and gas with huge investment scattered over Ajah, Ibeju- Lekki, Epe axis.
Until last year, Laide was married to her US-based ex-hubby, Olumide Okunfulure, who she claimed was the father of her first born, a girl. But in a shocking twist of fate, she started dating Orilowo and few months after she got pregnant for the businessman who spoilt her silly with choice cars and furnished apartments, now wanted by the EFCC.
Okunfulure had in an interview claimed Laide remained his wife due to the process they went through to formalise the marriage that qualified her to obtain her current US citizen’s status on his name and he was the father of the baby she was expecting.
Eventually, the embattled actress travelled to the United States of America where she delivered her second child, a boy, christened ‘Oluwadamilare, Mishal Orilowo.’
On several social media, she flaunted her pictures and her new baby while she showed pictures of herself and Orilowo on spending sprees and honeymoon to close friends.
Amidst the controversy over the true paternity of her baby, she said:
“It’s only a woman that knows who the father of her baby is.”
Her marriage to Okunfulure was dissolved on the pages of magazines and she started to co-habit with the money-man.
To the chagrin of all, an Islamic marriage rite, Nikkhah was conducted to formalize their union as husband and wife.
The baby’s christening party was well-attended with famous Fuji Star, Malaika on the bandstand. Orilowo also pulled all the stops to ensure the premiere of her film, Jejere was a huge success with Fuji Lord, K1 de Ultimate and pop singer, 9ICE entertaining guests. Orilowo is a fan of many Fuji musicians who sing his praise to high heavens.
He’s fondly referred to as ATM in Lagos’ social circle.
