1  Forum / The Buzz Central / I am not rich-Saka on: 4-04-2014 09:07 AM

Hafiz Oyetoro popularly known  as Saka has seen more than two decades in the movie industry and thus, has become a reservoir of knowledge that can only be appreciated.

In an interview with Vanguard here's what he said. Hear him.....

We learnt you are a Rich man, how true is it?
Honestly, I am not a rich man, but I am comfortable, satisfied and happy.

What is the secret of your successful  life?
It is simple, all you need is patience, humility, staying focused and most importantly, having the fear of God. It is only God that can give a man success. I have been in this industry for about 25- 26 years, but look at when my time to shine came. You cannot get to the top all of a sudden. The rhythm of life is step by step, stage by stage and from simple to complex.

If you do not follow this rule of life, you become irrelevant. God blesses what he finds in your hand. People should always learn to appreciate what is in their hands, never be satisfied with what you have achieved now, because the degree of work and quality of value you add to the society makes you an individual

2  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Delegates abandon Confab to attend Jonathan’s ‘daughter’ wedding on: 4-04-2014 08:34 AM

The rush by delegates to attend the marriage ceremony of a daughter of President Goodluck Jonathan raised unease among some delegates who frowned that conferees abandoned national issues for socializing.

About half of the delegates abandoned proceedings Thursday to enable them travel to attend the wedding coming up, Saturday, March 5, 2014 in Bayelsa State.

When the conference chairman, Justice Idris Kutigi called for contributions to the debate of the President’s speech, many of the delegates were not around as their seats were empty.
The immediate past Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufai (Jigawa) and former Head of Service, Engr. Ebele Okeke were among those who took permission to speak ahead of their scheduled slots to enable them go ahead for the ceremony.

Their requests were, however, granted by Justice Kutigi.

Some of the delegates, however, expressed concern over development, as they argued that those delegates failed to realise the importance of the national conference because they were not expected to trivialise a state call for a wedding ceremony.

Mr Ebuchukwu Ezike, representing the Civil  Liberties Organisation, CLO noted that Nigerians were watching and expecting positive reports from the conference,  just as he said  it was unfortunate that delegates were not taking it seriously.

He warned that if serious action was not taken, it may jeopardise the success of the conference, adding, “if delegates continue like this, Nigerians would not take the conference serious. Delegates have the option of turning the nomination down ab initio if it would affect their personal business or political activities, but it was clear that the money attracted some of the delegates. Now they realised that the amount publicised was not what they were being given, they have become disinterested in the whole exercise.”

The Police, yesterday [Apr. 2], arraigned seven prostitutes, A.K.A commercial sex workers in a Makurdi Magistrate’s Court for beating and stabbing an Abuja-based businessman.
The suspects are Blessing Victor, Martha Joseph, Sonia Okafor, Esther Sunday, Grace John, Angela Aja and Princess Ojo, all of Express Hotel, Makurdi. They are charged with criminal conspiracy, force, causing hurt and theft.

The prosecutor, Inspector Kajo told the court that Gabriel Oforma of Plot 24, Gwarimpa Estate, Phase 1, Abuja, lodged the matter at the ‘B’ Division Police Station on March 20. He said that the accused persons and some men, currently at large, beat up Oforma, stabbed him and stole his Nokia Lumia cell phone and N34,000 cash when he went to visit a friend at Wukari Street, Wurukum, Makurdi.

Kajo added said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 97, 265, 246 and 287 of the Penal Code. If convicted, they are liable to eight years each in prison with an option of fine. After the charges were read to them, the suspects all pleaded not guilty.

In her defence, the first accused person, Blessing Victor, told the court that she did not steal anything from the complainant. She said: My only sin is that I charged the complainant N3,000 to have segxwal intercourse with me for the whole night. After we did it, he refused to pay me and when I complained he said I stole his money.

The Magistrate, Mrs Lillian Terseer-Tsumba, granted bail to the accused persons in the sum of N10,000 each and one surety each in like sum. She adjourned the matter until May 7.

4  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / TB Joshua Performs Wonders In A Big Church In South Korea on: 4-04-2014 07:38 AM

I'm posting this because some critics have said he can't take his "act" to Asia. But he is there live:
Pastor T.B. Joshua is currently flying the flag for Nigeria in the Asian nation of South Korea where he just concluded a two day pastor’s conference. Pictures posted to Joshua’s official Facebook Page showed him addressing a gathering of over 3000 Korean pastors in Shingil Church located in Korea’s capital city, Seoul.
The two day event was also broadcast live via his popular Christian television station Emmanuel TV.
The move surprised many of his followers as the visit was unannounced and it is TB Joshua’s first foreign ministry travel in nearly seven years besides a much publicised visit to Ghana last year that brought parts of Accra to a literal standstill.

After receiving TB Joshua’s prayer, he guided several Korean clergymen to pray for the sick. Scores of those who showed up at the venue were healed with two of the afflicted walking out of their wheelchairs.
