A court in Egypt sentenced four men to up to eight years in prison on Monday for practicing homosegxwality, a judicial official said.

Prosecutors had accused the men of holding “deviant parties” and dressing in women’s clothes. Three were sentenced to eight years and the fourth to three years in prison.

Prosecutors have used a law banning “debauchery” to try homosegxwals in the past.

Those accused of homosegxwality are often forced to undergo medical tests to establish they are “habitual” gays, a practice rights groups have decried as abusive.

Homosegxwality is not tolerated across the Middle East and much of Africa.

First, hear it all from the man who made it all possible. His name is Carl Dietrich, he is the chief executive and co-founder of Terrafugia, an aerospace company. Mr Carl has been working to bring consumers to the prospect of a practical flying car, envisioning a vehicle that does not require its operator to be a trained pilot. The company, Terrafugia, announced the concept of TF-X, a four-seat, plug-in hybrid electric car that can do vertical take-offs and landings.

The good thing is that the flying car operator won't need to have the skills of a pilot to fly it...


"Once you're flying, the actual operation of all the flight control surfaces is going to be computer controlled because, frankly, the computer can do it better than a pilot.
"They don't need to know those things because the computer is plugged in to a data network that automatically helps them plan the flight path, avoid other air traffic and air space restrictions, things of that nature," says Mr Carl. He explains that operators would still have to make high-level, critical decisions, like determining whether it's safe to take off and land or approve the landing zone in advance.
"Anything that happens on the ground, the person is going to make a call," says Mr Carl.
I think I will buy one of this, as it sure looks safer than an aircraft. *wink!*

Afro beat musician, Seun Kuti, has said that his father, the great afro beat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti would never have supported the anti-gay law if he were alive.
He said this when he appeared on Television Continental news recently, ‘I do not support the anti gay law and contrary to what people think, if my father was alive, he would not have supported the law too. I know him more than all the people saying otherwise. In our house in Kalakuta, there were gay people living there,’ Kuti said.

Fans of two of Nollywood’s biggest actresses Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Genevieve Nnaji, may lately be surprised that the two perceived arch rivals are now getting along with each other like never before.
Even though both actresses have denied being enemies before now, sources close to them have severally confirmed to Nigeriafilms.com that the two really don’t too get along with each other.

It is true that the duo have acted in movies as sisters more than any other ‘rivals’ or actresses in Nollywood, but sources maintained to us that they only get along when they are in front of cameras but always return to status quo immediately after they get behind the cameras.
But recently, the two have been publicly telling the world that they are best of friends.
First, it was at Ibinabo’s birthday held in Lagos in January. Also, at Omotola’s surprise birthday in March, they both got together. At the last AMVCA, Omosexy and Genny, as both are fondly called, got along and even made jest of each other.

Our reliable source told us that Ibinabo has been instrumental in bringing these two heavyweights together. Like what she promised during her campaign period that she would unite Nollywood, our source said she has been working tirelessly to fulfil that promise.

The new smart national identity card (ID) is in compliance with the security recommendations and standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and could be used as travel document.

This was revealed after an independent laboratory and field test conducted on the new smart national identity card.

The Deputy Director of the National Identity Management Commission’s (NIMC), Mr. Abdulhamid Umar, disclosed this when he fielded questions from
journalists at the Murtala Murhammed International Airport, Lagos at the weekend.

Umar explained that the. successful testing confirms that the new smart card would be used as a travel document as it has security details for individual profiling and identification.

Top Ijebu-ode furniture maker & businessman, Otunba Tola Okuneye aka Ajagajigi was assassinated  yesterday morning April 6th inside his church, the Saint John Anglican Church Oke-Sepin in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.

Ten men stormed the church while service was going on, approached the 70 year old man and shot him point blank in the head several times. They left in two vehicles.

The incident which threw the church into a state of pandemonium, happened in less than 5 minutes. The man is said to be in court with some former business associates.

Meanwhile Ogun State Gvernor, Ibikunle Amosun, has vowed to make sure those behind Otunba Okuneye's murder are brought to book, while the Ogun State Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, while confirming the tragic incident, said investigation had commenced to unravel the reason behind the murder.

Otunba Okuneye is survived by six wives and 20 children.

Ebikeme Clark, son of Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clark, who was kidnapped last Wednesday, regained his freedom from hostage at about 12am on Sunday unconditionally.

Narrating how his freedom came about, Ebi said in Warri on  Sunday  that it took the intervention of ex-militant leader, Tompolo and one Chief Boro Opudu, for the kidnappers to release him.

He said  his experience while he was kept a hostage was not pleasant, adding that he was kept in a community near Bayelsa state.

“They were ordered by their leader, Chief Tompolo to free me and one Chief Boro Opudu. I was freed 12 mid night today ( Sunday). No ransom was paid. They have people they listen to or they lose their lives. I can’t give you full details now.

“It couldn’t have been pleasant. All I know is that they have people in the community aiding them to keep people. You eat anything you are given and you don’t expect it to be good enough. I was taken to a community somewhere near Bayelsa State”, Ebi said.

Spokesman of Chief Clark,  Dickson Bekederemo, also said Ebikeme got his freedom without payment of ransom.

He said  he accompanied  the Delta Waterways Security to pick the released Ebi where his kidnappers dropped him.

“He was released at about midnight and they gave him N5000 to transport himself out of the community in Bomadi where they dropped him. He was released unconditionally and he is good health”, Bekederemo said

47-year-old veteran Nollywood & beautiful actress, Bukky Wright has opened on why her marriage broke up and why she has chosen to forgive her ex and in-laws.

On ex-hubby
It was really tough. I thank God my mother and siblings were alive. My first child was six, or there about; they were quiet young them. At first I took them but they (husband and in-laws) took them back from me. I came into the movie industry because of my children, thinking that if they watched my movies, they would be able to know their mum. However, God was directing my part. Initially I was not allowed to see my kids but all that is over now. In retrospect I don’t think that they were been wicked.

I believe it’s the part that God wanted me to go through. Maybe, If I’d not gone through what I went through with my ex mother-in law, I may not have been equipped to understand a lot of things today. God was trying to prepare me for the future. I don’t hate my in laws for what they did to me.

As a matter of fact, I respect them for training me the hard way. That has made me what I am today. I don’t hate my ex mother-in law. I respect her and I see her as a strong woman whom I learned from.

A lot of people might say, ‘Oh she’s a wicked woman! They may even curse her for what she did. I don’t hate the father of my children either. And I wish a lot of women will see things my way. Do not cry over spill milk. I’m an optimistic person.

If only those women criticizing me could wear my shoes and feel where it hurts they won’t judge me. Later I spoke with my ex so he could let my kids spend time with me. He later agreed after much persuasion. They would come spend the weekend with me and I’d take them back to school on Monday. And after school I’d go back to school praying my husband won’t go back to pick them. After a while he agreed to give me back my children because he was already married to someone else.

I think we were not meant to be. That’s why the marriage failed. It’s all about destiny. We women we are our own enemies. Men support and stand by each other no matter what. Women love to gossip and destroy other women they see as a treat.

On her kids
I’m a mother of boys; I have two boys. My first son would be 22 In December while the second is 19. My boys are now in the University in the USA.  And it’s not by my making; it’s the grace of God. I know of a lot of women who had the time and energy than I ever did and more money and everything but are no where today. It’s only God that take cares of children.

I have always encouraged my children to come into show business. My first son, Olugbenga, who’s schooling in the US sings and raps. I remember back then my mother used to say to me to look for another profession if acting could not put food on my table. This was because whenever I came back from location I still asked her for money.

s*x-for-role
We are all adults. If a producer asks you out, it’s left for you to either say yes or no. We’re all human. It happens everywhere. Do you want to do it because you have to or because you want to? I can only speak for myself. I have never been asked for s*x-for-role. Having said that, I’m an adult and I’m not a saint. Neither is any women out there, the saints are not yet born so why do we keep deceiving ourselves.

Love advances
I’m a very private person. Most of the time such men become my friends. I just tell them ‘I like you and I want us to be friends.’ I have a lot of male friends. I don’t call them names because I know they only appreciate me as a woman. It’s now left for me to know how to handle it. The very stubborn ones just give up after sometime when they see that I don’t budge; I just stop picking their calls. I’m very nice on the phone; I talk nicely and eventually when I stop picking the calls and I meet the person one way or the other I just apologize nicely.

On indecency
How do you mean unclad? Like take it all off? We all wear transparent clothes that reveal our bras our under garments. We wear some tops called tissue top. We wear some laces that reveal our bodies. So as an actress, If I’m asked to take a role, I’m only doing my job. It does not mean that’s who I am. I’m being paid to play a role as an actress that’s very passionate about her job.

The only thing I won’t do is to reveal my private parts. But I can wear my bikini. If you have a good body, flaunt it. The only thing I don’t like is when you flaunt what needs to be covered up. Work on it if you want to reveal it. If you know you want to reveal some parts of your body in a movie, work on it. If I cannot reveal, that doesn’t mean another person can’t. And don’t forget, acting is make belief.

I’m a script writer so I don’t see any big deal in indecency. A lot of us reveal our bodies knowingly or unknowingly so why all the pretence?  The only thing I don’t like is when the scene does not call for it. Take for example a pool scene and the script says bikini but you now sit by the pool in some funny looking leggings; it’s not appropriate.

Ideal man
I am attracted to God fearing and good looking men. I don’t like fat men. I love tall dark and slim men. I don’t like deceitful and uncaring men. I could die for a very caring man. I’m a very romantic person so I love romantic men; I love surprise gifts. As a young girl growing up I read a lot of Mills & Boom. I like my man to surprise me with gifts; it sweeps me off my feet. I don’t like men that wait for you to ask before they give. I like men that are in control and know what to do. But I notice that with most men, if you don’t ask you don’t get.

Uche Odoputa who was convicted and sentenced to eight months imprisonment for trafficking in illicit drugs in 2007 has turned to a private driver in Port Harcourt.
First, he went into selling of female shoes but was unsucessful. Sources revealed to us that Uche Odoputa is currently serving as a private driver to a PDP chieftain in Port Harcourt, Emeka Ebekee who is among those that defected to APC and According to the source; Emeka Ebekee is now APC secretary in Rivers State.

The latest actor to have been bitten by the bug of politics is veteran actor, Jibola Dabor, who is currently strategising on how to clinch the ticket to represent his people of Owo Federal Constituency, Ondo State, at the House of Representatives.
According to the veteran actor, it was never his call or decision but the call of his people who clamour for him to represent them. But does that mean Mr. Jibola Djust taking a break to give back to the people, because I’ve realized that the industry has taken me to a particular peak. Giving back is not going to be easy from that industry, but if I’m part of a voice, I can better develop the industry and give back to the community.
"So, I’m not really quitting, I’m only taking a break," he confided.
He also said that he doesn’t have to be a career politician to know what his people need. His focus, if elected, “Would be rural development. I’m quite experienced in the cultural activities in my constituency and I know how we can use the basic things we have in the land to enrich the youths in particular.
"I’m going to concentrate on putting my constituency in the international brochure on tourism because we are very rich culturally and also use arts and crafts to create jobs for the youths which is part of the youth empowerment project I have been talking about with the current government. These are self created wealth that abor would be quitting making movies?
"I can still do one or two movies, because nothing in the constitution says I can’t do movies, but I know there won’t be time to do much movies. I’m not quitting, I’m can happen from the land, because most of these youths have left the land seeking greener pastures where there are none. I believe that I can help redirect heir attention to the land." he said.

Sir Alex Ferguson has accepted a long-term teaching position at Harvard University where he will lecture senior executives, ESPN reports.

The former Manchester United manager, who was the subject of a study by the Ivy League university last year, has a role teaching a course called ‘The Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports’.

The 72-year-old retired in 2013 after winning 49 trophies, including 38 in his 26-year stay at Old Trafford.

Ferguson, winner of 13 league titles and two Champions Leagues in his time at United, said, “I’m delighted to have the opportunity and privilege to contribute to such a respected centre of excellence.

“The time I have already spent at Harvard has been a stimulating experience and I look forward to developing my relationship and activities with the students, faculty and friends of the Harvard Business School community.”

Ferguson’s blueprint and beliefs were the subject of a study by Harvard Business School Professor Anita Elberse called ‘Sir Alex Ferguson: Managing Manchester United’.
