Not long ago we reported the bad incidence of flood in Ilorin that killed and destroyed many property, unfortunately lagos  was not spared in the sharing of the woes. At least not less than 15 buildings were damaged by heavy rainstorm yesterday morning at Ebute Metta area of Lagos as residents prepared to leave for church. Roofs of several houses were removed and a lot of properties destroyed. At least 10 vehicles were also damaged in the process.
 
Spokesperson, for National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA,  Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the incident and said the agency was assessing the damage and would come up with relief packages.

Rave of the moment, Ukwu master, Timaya has made an open confession during his performance over the weekend in Uyo that education is not for him, but for you. He said he gave up when he scored 17 in JAMB, but still thinks education is good and advised people to get it. But for him, it’s a capital NO.

“Education is not for me, it is important, yes, but not for me. I scored 17 in JAMB, that's when I gave up. I don’t have the brain for education but for those of you who do, please do it, its good.” he said.

The Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, yesterday at the Aso Villa Chapel during a special thanksgiving service held for President Jonathan’s daughter, Faith and her husband, Godswill to thank God for the success of their wedding ceremonies, said Nigeria was fighting a spiritual battle; Boko Haram.
 
While explaining his statement further, the minister said; “We are in spiritual warfare and many do not realise this. Our military will continue to do their work and God will help them, intelligent agencies will continue to do their work and God will help them. But those of us that are vast in spiritual warfare should be able to know that there is more to these things that meets the eye” he said.

Award-winning celebrity stylist/designer, Durojaiye Owolabi who is the CEO of Mood’deo International has revealed in a recent chat with Punch, that most of the celebrities seen on television in Nigeria like wearing cheap clothes or clothes given to them for free.

He also said that 2face Idibia was the only celebrity who paid on time and even over-paid him sometimes. Read the excerpts below:

“I see entertainers as celebrities. They dictate what goes on in the fashion world. I see them as people that have made it, rich and affluent and whatever they put on has to be the best.

When I started my outfit, being a celebrity designer is what I targeted because abroad, celebrities are the people that would help you showcase your work. I decided I would work with a few of them but I was shocked because most of these celebrities like cheap things. I cannot mention names but you would be surprised that most of the big names do not pay on time.

But I have worked with Tuface who even paid more than the cost of the item. But people like Tuface are scarce in the industry. These celebrities want things for free. This made me change my mind to be doing clothes for the masses because my fashion line is going to end up as an NGO. I thought I could make enough money from being a celebrity designer, then I could turn my business into an NGO for the less privileged kids but things did not work out as I planned.

Sometimes when these celebrities bargain for an attire, you would be shocked and ask yourself if it is the same person that we see on television.”
