|  American rapper Dr. Dre and his ex-wife Nicole Young have officially reached an agreement in their divorce proceedings with Dre agreeing to pay Young a whopping sum of $100million. According to reporters, Dre, whose estimated net worth is $820 million, agreed to pay Nicole $50 million now and an additional $50 million in a year. In exchange, Dre gets to keep 7 of the properties they own, including a Malibu home, 2 homes in Calabasas, and 4 properties in the L.A. area, including the $100 million Brentwood estate. In addition, Dre gets full rights to his master recordings, trademarks and interests in various partnerships and trusts. He also keeps all of their Apple stocks, which includes the proceeds from the sale of Beats by Dre. The former couple's vehicles will be divided somewhat more evenly, with Young getting to keep four, while her ex-husband will keep six. She'll also keep all of her pricy jewelry, as well as all of the funds that she had managed throughout her marriage to Dre. After she filed for divorce, her ex placed several of their belongings in storage, but she will be able to reclaim all the items that were hers. |  Reacting to this development, the father of the deceased student, Sylvester Oromoni Snr, wondered the rationale behind the bail when the 21 days requested by the police for investigation was yet to elapse. The family of deceased Dowen college student, Sylvester Oromoni, who was allegedly bullied by his seniors for refusing to belong to a cult before his death has questioned the bail granted to the five students of the school by a Magistrate’s court in Yaba. Recall that on Tuesday, the Magistrate court granted N1 million bail to five students of Dowen College charged with the alleged murder of Oromoni. The Chief Magistrate, Olatunbosun Adeola, after hearing the bail application filed by the counsel for the defendants, ordered the defendants to produce two sureties each in like sum. Reacting to this development, the father of the deceased student, Sylvester Oromoni Snr, wondered the rationale behind the bail when the 21 days requested by the police for investigation was yet to elapse. “Yesterday I was called that those boys were granted bail by a Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos. I said, “why?” I now called the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State and he told me; I was not aware, and that they were not done with the investigation.
I called the DCP in charge of the case who later confirmed to me that the story is true.
But it was a surprise to me that the same judge gave them 21 days which expires on the 28 of this month when the police requested for the remand order. The court granted 21 days to keep those boys.
And the 21 days have not expired, and the court granted them bail. I am calling on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Lagos State Government and the Inspector General of Police to please take note.
Secondly, the police said they are not done with the investigation, that granting the boys bail will not help their investigation, they are getting more facts.
And they were even planning that after the 21 days if they are not done with their investigation, they will ask for an extension. I am surprised that the court granted them bail when the date given has not elapsed.
I am not a lawyer but what the family is saying is that they should allow the police to conclude their investigation. I am not saying that they should not be granted bail but it is the court that gave the police 21 days'' he said | | | | |

|  President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick has confirmed that they held talks with Roma manager, Jose Mourinho, as they search for a new Super Eagles head coach. Pinnick revealed this during a media parley with sports journalists in Lagos on Wednesday. The NFF boss also said the national team would get a new coach “within the next week or so”. Austin Eguavoen was appointed on an interim basis, after Gernot Rohr was sacked earlier this month. But the federation is in advanced negotiations for a permanent replacement for Rohr. “We have spoken to three top coaches. Peseiro, whose name has been going around, is one of them and I can tell you he is a top coach.
“We also talked to Mladen (Krstajic). But after talking to him, he got a job with a top club in Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
“They are coaches who the players cannot be bigger than. I believe we are doing everything we can and that’s why we interface with the ministry on every level.

|  This, according to the Chairman, Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, Dashe Arlat, is to enable the state meet its 2022 internally-generated revenue target. Apart from that, banks and construction companies would also pay the development tax and efforts would also be intensified to collect consumption tax from persons lodging and spending money in hotels and other accommodation outlets in the State. Arlat, while speaking with journalists in his office in Jos, stressed that the State has the potential to realize “between N3.5bn to N5bn monthly if everyone comes on board. “From January to November 2021, a total of N20,060,219,702.16 was received as IGR, based on our assessment, Plateau has the potential to get between N3.5bn to N5bn monthly as against our initial target of N2bn per month,” he said. Arlat, who gave a breakdown of IGR accrued to the State between January to November 2021, maintained more efforts would be deployed to accrue more funds to the State in the coming year. “In 2022, we will look at other avenues of getting revenue… Not having a Tax Identification Number, TIN is a crime in Plateau State. Everyone from 18 years and above would be required to pay a development tax of N300, construction companies and banks too will also pay a tax of between N5,000 and N50,000. Everyone would be required to have a tax clearance certificate, this will boost the independent revenue of the State. “There are lots of potentials in the MDAs, they must make sure that things work fine… We will implement a consumption tax on hotels from 2022, we hope to double our revenue. Citizens should know that we all must pay tax, it must be voluntary because not filing tax returns attracts penalties of N50,000 for individuals and N500,000 for organizations.
“Hotels that are not duly registered with the Tourism Ministry would be penalized, schools and hospitals that are not duly registered with relevant Ministries will also be penalized. Proper registration of these places will help not only in tax collections but in the security of citizens hence, there will be increased enforcement and monitoring in the State,” Arlat added. He further tasked citizens to make use of relevant committees like whistleblowing, harmonization, and others which are available in the State to assist the Service to track would-be taxpayers because improved tax collection would ensure improved infrastructure and development. | | | | |
