This madness is sure getting out of control. Boko Haram terrorists, at the weekend, raged in Borno State where 16 persons were feared killed in a fresh attack.

In two separate attacks, five policemen were reportedly abducted with their Armoured Personnel Carrier while a Chinese was killed and 10 others kidnapped during an overnight attack in Kuseri Village between Gamboru Ngala council of Borno State and the Cameroun border.
“Five policemen attached to Banki, a border town with Bama and Cameroon Republic, were attacked by Boko Haram. The terrorists opened fire on the APC No: NPF4960c conveying the policemen led by an inspector and five others. The policemen quickly dropped from the APC and ran into the bush before the terrorists went away with the abandoned APC. As I am talking to you now (yesterday), the whereabouts of the policemen are yet to be known and we suspect the terrorists might have kidnapped or killed them.”
A source said the tension in the are is high. The attacks put President Goodluck Jonathan and his counterparts from Nigeria’s neighbouring countries meeting in Paris, France, on Saturday under pressure to come up with concrete steps to address terrorism in the sub region.

The missing/abducted policemen were identified by sources as Inspector Luka Maina, Sergeant Manya Chaka, Corporals Hassan Dauda, Emmanuel Onoche and Umar Ali.

According to Vanguard, the Banki incident took place by 9:50am on Friday when some policemen attached to the Banki Division were attacked by terrorists while trying to drop six of them at the junction road who were to proceed to their promotion course examination and interview.

The Borno Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tanko Lawan, confirmed the abduction of the five policemen and the seizing of the Armourd Personnel Carrier (APC).

“The Boko Haram militants were heavily armed, they came in five vehicles”, an official in Waza, a town near the site of the attack, said on condition of anonymity.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday said the Boko Haram insurgent’s ultimate plan is to “destabilize the country, and take over Nigeria.”

Jonathan said this at the “Regional Summit on Security in Nigeria,” held in France and attended by leaders of some of Nigeria’s neighbours including Benin, Chad, Niger Republic, and Cameroon; as well as the French President, Francois Hollande, U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, and other world leaders.

The Nigerian president told his audience that the Boko Haram is “hostile to democracy.” “it uses every means to indoctrinate its members; its ultimate objective is to destabilize the country, and take over Nigeria in order to turn it into a base of operation in West Africa and the entire continent,” Mr. Jonathan said.

The president also spoke on the abduction of over 250 girls from the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, on April 14; and the government’s efforts to free them.

“The major challenge that we have faced in our search and rescue operation so far has been the deluge of misinformation about the whereabouts of the girls and the circumstances of their disappearance,” Mr. Jonathan said.

“We have deployed about 20,000 troops to the area, intensified aerial surveillance, and strengthened local intelligence resources.

We shall spare no effort, we shall explore every avenue; we shall turn every stone, to ensure the return of the girls to their families and that the terrorists are defeated.”

Mr. Jonathan sought the assistance of the international community in defeating the Boko Haram, saying the group has caused the death of over 12,000 Nigerians since its insurgency began in 2009.

“This unconventional war has so far claimed over twelve thousand lives, with more than 8, 000 persons injured or maimed, not to mention the displacement of thousands of innocent Nigerians,” he said.

In a new interview with SunNewsonline, daughter of late creator of Afrobeat, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, currently in her early 50s, who has seen and done it all, says she is still single because she has lost all interest in marriage and doesn't believe in the institution any more.
Excerpts:

MARRIAGE
I am still single because I have lost all interest in marriage and I don’t believe in the institution any more. Nigerian men are too controlling and overbearing for me and I am already set in my ways. Besides, I have been on my own for too long. My major concern is training my daughter. 
I praise married women; I think they are the real stars of this country. Women in their husbands house looking after their husbands and children are amazing especially the ones with nine to-five jobs who come back home tired and still go to the kitchen to cook for their husbands. These are the women that women magazines should be celebrating because they are the real super women. 
Men are not easy to look after; I can’t do that so I duff my hat for such women. When my only child clocked two, I was separated from my ex-husband.  I am now in my 50’s and I am not thinking about having another child and I have no regrets. I don’t believe in having kids with everyman that comes my way. Maybe I could have had more kids if I had re-married but since I never remarried there was no need for me to have more kids. My marriage didn’t work because we couldn’t get on together after two years. Right now my daughter is the most important person in my life. I am still single and I have found a suitable man but right now, marriage is the last thing on my mind. Yes, it is true that you never can say never because things happen. But if ever I want to get married again, you will be the first to know.

You know as women, some of us have tried one way or the other to outsmart men. I was a player as a young girl so I won’t say I have been segxwally harassed because I was the one that tried to play men for their money you know. I have had men that have spoilt me silly with gifts and money. And I knew I was just a flirt; I was just playing them. The men took us out for lunch and we just spent their money. My friend used to come along when I went on dates and I went with her when she had dates; we would eat and drink and the men usually gave us some money when we were about to leave. You know N500 was a lot of money back then. I remember that those days, a car was going for N3, 000. 

So there was this particular instance when we wanted to do the same thing with my friend’s date. The meeting point was one of the rooms at the Eko Hotel & Suites. When we got there we knocked on the door, he answered and we entered. He was lying on the bed but left the door unlocked so he would not have to get up to open the door when we came in. He is a popular man so I don’t want to mention his name. When he removed the sheets he was stark naked and we were shocked! He started chasing us around the room; he would chase my friend and then me. When we eventually found our way out of his hotel room we ran straight home. I couldn’t tell my mum what happened. But I told my sister, brother and our friends and they all laughed at us. We were greedy young women who happened on a very wicked man.

No man has ever asked me for sex for favours. Maybe they are too scared of me because of my father and brother; they probably know they will sing about it. Even with Felebration, no sponsor has ever asked me for anything; they just sponsor; maybe it’s because of my family background.
