Vixens are supposed to be female foxes – bad-tempered female foxes. But this collection of girls who make a living from dancing in musical videos are anything but female foxes.
They are beautiful, sexy, and probably endowed with enough skills to provide the audience with entertainment. As often as they are seen, and as raunchy and passionate as they appear, they do not rank in the same category as the music stars for whom they dance, at least, not by their bank account balances.
Showtime investigations show that an average video vixen or music video model earns a paltry 20-50 thousand naira. Those that are on the upper scale of the trade might come off with about N100,000, after a scrappy haggling.
Still, there are those that rate higher, whose fees even run into millions. But those ones are not professional video vixens. They are established stars who have made names from other areas of entertainment. They are called guest stars, not video vixens as many think. Some of these big stars are:
*Cynthia Cinci Ezekiels: She has done musical videos with virtually all the top artistes, both locally and internationally. She has worked with Brandy, Mario, Chris Brown, Mary J Blige, Fat Joe, Tuface Idibia, D’banj, P-square, J. Martins, Iyanya, Timaya, Terry G ,VIP of Ghana, Omawumi, May D, Samklef, Burna Boy, Olamide, and so many others. She was the luscious face in Tuface Idibia’s ‘Iheneme’. She rates between N50,000 and N100,000.
*Mimi Ubini This is a top rated video vixen who has done everything from modelling to acting. She now owns her blog, ‘Mimi Ubini Blog,’ fast becoming a reference point in entertainment blogging. Beautiful, with a forget-me-not eyes, she featured in Brymo’s ‘Ara’ and ‘Playboy’ by Playboy. She rates between N50,000 and N100,000.
*Tosin Pedro She is sassy and classy. She is a well-known video vixen locally and internationally. One will remember her enchanting presence in ‘Feel Alright’, a video by Ice Prince featuring Davido. She rates between N50,000 and N100,000.
*Beverly Osu This Big Brother Africa Housemate girl has been a video vixen long before she tried her hand in the Big Brother Africa. Liberated and free-spirited, we have all seen what Beverly can do. She was the vixen in Ice Prince’s ‘Oleku’. She rates just a little higher, between N50,000 and N120,000.
*Carphee Azeez Carphee has a beauty that oozes sexiness that could get a priest in a twist. Lively and luxuriantly effervescent, Carphee dazzled in Durella’s ‘Club Rock’. She rates between N50,000 and N80,000.
*Lovette Shade Awode Lovette is beautiful, chic and sophisticated. One of her prominent videos include Wande Coal’s ‘Bumber to Bumber’, and Duncan Mighty’s ‘Obianuju and Adanma’ video. She rates between N50,000 and N80,000.
*Veezee Baybey Her name is Venita Akpofure, also known as Veezee Baybey. She brought her beauty and style to bare in Skales’ Mukulu video, IceBerg Slim’s ‘Too Much money’, Hakeen da Dream’s ‘Scoobi Doo.’ She charges between N50,000 and N80,000.
*Mercy Isop Mercy Isop is a pretty face that has brought her knock-out effect on many videos. She is a face that could simply lure any man to watch a video. She was the face of love in Olamide’s ‘Stupid Love.’ Her fee is between N40,000 and N80,000.
*Sobola Anthonia: Sexy and endowed Anthonia has done a number of videos. One of her most prominent ones are Artquake’s ‘Oti ganpa.’ She rates between N40,000 and N80,000.
A 26 year old airport cleaner, Chibuzor Onuegbe is presently on Police trail for allegedly smuggling N242 million out of the baggage store of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) undetected.
Although, he has since relocated to the United Kingdom, three of his accomplice - Ifeanyi Francis, his girl friend Chioma Obinabor and his elder brother Kalu Faith Onuegbe - have been arrested.
According to Sunnews, the stolen money was packed in a bag in US dollar denomination totaling $1.5million which belongs to a middle aged woman (names withheld).
She was said to have deposited the sum at the MMIA baggage room on October 30, 2013 for safe keeping. She discovered that the money was missing when she wanted to pick it.
After all efforts to trace the money failed, she reported the incident at the Lagos Police Command headquarters in Ikeja where the Commissioner of Police, Umaru Manko directed the Officer In-Charge of Special Anti Robbery Squad, Abba Kyari to fish out the culprits.

One of the accomplices, Francis who claims to be an Engineering student at Government Technical College, Owerri, Imo State confessed that he never knew the content of the bag until he left the airport.
He further revealed he made N60million from the deal.
“Chibuzor told me that he wanted to smuggle out some abandoned luggage from the baggage store at the international airport. He gave me a bag containing old laptops and clothes. He also gave me a tag ticket which was attached to the bag. The deal was that I would get to the airport as early as 6am and move to the baggage store and drop the bag. I will tell the store keeper that I want to register the bag and will be back in evening to pick it up.
“As agreed on October 30, 2013, I went to the baggage store with the bag that already had a tag. The store keeper asked me to pay N300 for a day and N600, if I am to pick it the next day. I paid N300 and dropped the bag. Later in the evening as agreed, I came to the airport and picked the bag. When I saw Chibuzor, he told me that the deal did not work out, and that I will be repeating the same process.”
The next day as agreed, Francis went through the same process and dropped the bag. In the evening at about 7pm, he went back and picked the bag. “I discovered that the bag was unusually heavy. Since I knew what was on ground, I pretended that it was the same weight. It was easy to pick the bag because I had a tag and a ticket.
“I quickly moved and joined Chibuzor who was already with a taxi. I asked him what was in the bag and he told me to calm down that I will get to know. We arrived his street and stopped in an area where cars were parked. He opened the bag; it was then that I realised that it contained bundles of dollar notes.
“I was speechless because the amount was much. He told me that as a cleaner, he had access to the baggage room. All he did was to unlock my bag to which he had the key and transfer the bag of money into my own bag. He told me to calm down that there is a lot to gain and that he needs to contact his friends at the airport before the money will be shared. Those friends, he explained were the ones who gave him information that such amount of money was in the baggage room and the colour of the bag. He tried to close the bag and it was difficult, so he had to remove some bundles into another bag. We heard the voice of some boys coming towards us, so Chibuzor hurriedly left the spot and moved into their house. He forgot that he kept some money in the bag that I was holding. He rushed out and promised to call me for my share,” Francis further said.
I bought two plots of land, and built 6 blocks of flat. I also rented a nice apartment and furnished it to taste. I also acquired a pathfinder jeep. I do not know the whereabouts of Chibuzor, it was when they arrested me that I was told that he is in UK.” He concluded
The second accomplice, Chibuzo's girlfriend said “Sometime in November, I sat by his side on board an ITC bus heading for Owerri. We got talking and exchanged phone numbers. He also paid my transport fare to Owerri. The next day he called me and invited me to his hotel room, it was then that he told me that he is a business man and that his office is at MMIA, Lagos. We chatted and ended up having sex and when I was leaving he gave me N20, 000 and promised to keep in touch. Few days later, he called me again and gave me N50, 000 and our next meeting another N100, 000. We were so much in love and he told me that I am the kind of wife that he dreamt that God should bring his way. I was happy, because at 27, I should be married.
“Also during Christmas period, he gave me N230, 000 for my shopping. This year, he asked me to help him acquire a land in Onitsha. I was able to acquire 10 plots of land for N19 million at an area called ‘33’ in Onitsha.
He told me that he was travelling to UK and would go through Ghana. His explanation was that DANA airline goes to UK through Ghana. I never knew that he was running away. I thought he was real, till the police arrested me. It was at the police that I was told that he is a cleaner at the airport and most importantly that he is 26 years old,” Chioma narrated.
And then the third accomplice, Chibuzo's elder brother said "He came to visit me, gave N10 million, to acquire landed properties in Port Harcourt. He told me that he was travelling to UK to further his education and will be back very soon. I knew that he was travelling to UK, because he showed me his Visa. I am terribly sorry and willing to return everything that I got from him. If you were in my shoes, I’m sure that you will protect your family,” Kalu stated.

Mary Jean Nleya, 22, shared her testimony during the church service at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos on Sunday 11th May 2014. According to her, she met T.B. Joshua several years ago as a visitor to The SCOAN and explained her educational plights to him: “I told him that I had no father that was taking care of my educational fees,” she said. “He informed me that I needed only Jesus Christ to be my Father and that He would take care of all my needs. From then on, I became a SCOAN scholarship recipient.” The gifted student from Botswana narrated how the cleric had been like a father to her morally and materially ever since. “If there is any word to describe the role Prophet T.B. Joshua has played in my life, it is like that of a father,” she emphatically told the congregation.
Motivated TB Joshua's teachings, Nleya received a distinction in Law in the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Thereafter, she had a successful internship at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.
“When I was there, he told me that I should go for my masters in the best university in the world, which is Harvard University,” Mary-Jean narrated, adding that she was daunted by the prospect as it is a well known fact that “admission into Harvard University is incredibly difficult.”
Remarkably, the talented law-student received admission to the revered university. “I am thrilled and excited to tell you all today that I gained admission into Harvard University,” she declared to the joyful congregation.
But upon learning of the huge fees involved, she was doubtful as to whether the scholarship would be continued. “I ended up telling him (T.B. Joshua) and he committed to paying $82,123! I will be going to commence my studies any moment from now,” she gratefully remarked.
Mary-Jean advised youth to look for a ‘mentor’ who would inspire them in life. “I didn’t believe in myself enough and my potential to apply to the world’s best university. But because I had a mentor, a father to inspire and encourage me to apply, I drew a greater plan. I was inspired to stop living within a four foot ceiling and to reach for the top and make the sky my limit.”
In his comments, TB Joshua stated that she was just one of the many students worldwide who were receiving scholarships. “What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you,” he declares.
Boko Haram Terrorists Arrested By Citizens In Dikwa Say Abducted Girls Are In Sambisa Eight Boko Haram terrorists who came out to get food and items from Goym village in Dikwa local government, Borno state were arrested by visiting Civilian Joint Task Force men who came from Gwoza. The terrorists who came in a hilux truck with some motorcycles were arrested at 4pm Friday evening.
Upon interrogation, the terrorists revealed that the 234 girls abducted from Chibok were still in Sambisa forest and that they had been divided into three groups. They describe the camps in Sambisa as very large. They said they were sent by their leader to get items including clothes for the girls. The civilians hoped military support will be sent to Dikwa immediately as it is likely the terrorists return when they find their men were arrested. They also hope “the Americans” will act on this intelligence to rescue the abducted girls. Dikwa local government area is one of the local governments that is a boundary of Sambisa forest, and is near Gamboru-Ngala where 300 civilians were killed recently.
Maiduguri also remains on high alert as two Boko Haram members arrested by the Civilian JTF two days ago, one pretending to be a phone card seller at Tashai Kamla market told them Boko Haram was planning to attack and massacre men, women and children in the capital city any day now.
Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Samuel Ortom has revealed the Federal Government's plans to roll out made-in-Nigeria vehicles into the market next month, June 2014. The Minister made this known when he received a delegation from Automobile Peugeot, France in his office in Abuja, Punch reports.
The minister, while addressing the delegation which included the company's Vice President, Mr. Yves Moulin, said the newly introduced auto policy is quite effective and is attracting automobile brands to establish assembly plants in Nigeria. "The automotive policy is derived from the National Industrial Revolution Plan, and we are happy with the response we have been getting from the automotive industry worldwide; and with your coming, it shows that this policy is working. When the policy was introduced, people criticised it and most of them do not understand the benefit of the policy. We have had several stakeholders from the automotive industry approaching us to set up assembly plants and spare parts plants in the country. I want to assure up you on behalf of the government that we will do everything to make sure the policy succeeds.” the minister said Meanwhile the first set of Peugeot cars assembled here in Nigeria would be reeled out next month, says Managing Director, Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited, Mr Ibrahim Boyi. He said this was made possible due to the Auto policy placed by the government.
