Most of the comments on the page have condemned her actions, asking why Miss Dikeh needs to take off her clothes in public.

Nigerian journalist, Ahmad Salkida, who previously worked for Daily Trust and Premium Times and reported extensively on Boko Haram, fled Nigeria to Dubai 2 years ago after being accused of being a Boko Haram sympathizer. He said he fled after 'his life and that of his family became endangered' after security agencies began to mistake his in-depth reporting on the terrorist group as evidence of his closeness to them. He went underground for several weeks before finally fleeing Nigeria. Salkida was perhaps the only Nigerian journalist/civilian to have access to Boko Haram, and he said at the time that he'd turned down Boko Haram's many requests for him to publish exclusive interviews and materials for them.

Anyway according to new reports, the Nigerian government flew him back home a few weeks ago to negotiate with Boko Haram on their behalf, since he's the only civilian who has allegedly seen Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau and come out alive. One hundred non-combatant, low-level sympathisers were to be freed and the two groups brought together in a convoy of buses accompanied by a hand-picked go-between, respected Nigerian journalist Ahmad Salkida.
The plan had been agreed in tortuous negotiations in response to worldwide outrage over a night-time raid on a school in the town of Chibok on April 14 when the girls were abducted from their dormitories.
Mr Salkida was born in Borno State, where Boko Haram originated. He has known its leaders all his life and has unprecedented access.
He has been arrested on several occasions accused of being a Boko Haram sympathiser, and he fled with his family to Dubai two years ago.
But two weeks ago, he was summoned out of exile by President Jonathan’s aides. He initially feared he might face arrest, but was then given a letter of indemnity signed by the President when he flew to Nigeria.
Sources said Mr Salkida was able to travel by taxi to the group’s forest camp to talk to Shekau two weeks ago. ‘His mission was secretive and dangerous,’ they said.
He is probably the only civilian with access to Shekau. There is trust between them and Salkida had only one aim – to get the schoolgirls out.
He reported afterwards that the group of girls he saw were alive and well, and being adequately fed and sheltered. They told him all they wanted was to go home.
Salkida’s mission was complicated by the chaos surrounding government’s pronouncements about negotiations with the terrorist group.
Shekau has released two shocking videos showing the girls dressed in hijabs and reciting verses from the Koran.

A baby born in India with a head attached to its stomach was given a lifesaving surgery to remove it.

The baby girl who was born  to a 22-year-old woman Amlekha Bairva at a  small government-run hospital on May 13, had the head of her  parasitic twin attached to her stomach.

The baby was rushed to another hospital in Jaipur, northern India and 13 days later, a team of doctors successfully detached the head – which was completely formed and attached by the neck to the stomach – in a 90-minute operation.
                 
Daily News reports:

“It was a case of hetropahus twin, but we have successfully detached the head that was attached to the anterior abdominal wall. Blood from the baby’s chest and abdomen was feeding the head.

We managed to reconstruct the abdominal wall,” Dr. Chetan Sharma, the pediatric surgeon who operated on the baby, said.
The baby is now under close observation in the neonatal intensive care unit at the hospital and will hopefully be discharged after a month.

Father Ramjilal Bairva, 29, is overjoyed the surgery was a success.

“I am very happy and thankful to the doctors and God for my daughter’s successful surgery,” he said. “I could not hold my baby before, but now I will be able to cuddle her.

“She is a very beautiful and I will make sure that she faces no problem in the future,” he added.

Parasitic twins occur when a twin embryo begins to develop in the uterus but the pair doesn’t fully separate. One embryo then becomes the dominant development at the expense of the other.

“The baby will require a second and final operation to reconstruct the exomphalos after 45 days. And she will then be a completely healthy child with no medical complications in the future.”

The baby girl, yet to be named, was born naturally and weighed 4 pound, 8 ounces, but soon after her delivery she developed jaundice, which delayed surgery.

Suspected Boko Haram gunmen stormed a Christian village in northeastern Nigeria, killing 20 residents, a government spokesman said Monday.
The heavily armed gunmen stormed Waga village in Adamawa state on Sunday and opened fire, Ahmed Soji said.
“The gunmen believed to be Boko Haram insurgents in trucks and on motorcycles attacked the village where they killed 20 people and burnt several houses,” Soji said.
“The whereabouts of several other people are still unknown but it is assumed they fled into the bush to escape the attack and are yet to return,” he said.
A second attack by the marauding gunmen on nearby Gublak village was repelled by soldiers in the area, Soji said without saying if there were casualties in the shootout.
Adamawa state, which is one of three states under emergency law along with Borno and Yobe, has seen a string of deadly Boko Haram attacks.
In February, the group killed 34 people and burnt scores of homes in coordinated bombing and shooting attacks on Michika, Kirchiga and Shuwa towns near the border with Borno state.
At least 24 people were killed on Sunday when Boko Haram gunmen raided Kumuta village in Borno State, where the Islamists have stepped up deadly attacks on villages in recent months.
According to residents, dozens of motorcycle-riding gunmen stormed the village after sunrise as locals were heading to the weekly market, opening fire on residents.
The militants, who have claimed the abduction of more than 200 girls from their school in Chibok, Borno state six weeks ago, have recently intensified their attacks in the state’s countryside, raiding villages where they kill residents, loot food supplies and set fire to homes.
