There are alot of Muslims in the Niger Delta regions of Nigeria even there are Igbo Muslims in the South Eastern region  of Nigeria, why are they not fighting and killing in the name of religion? We are our brothers keeper.

5  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Relationship Advice: Why Do Spouses Cheat And Can Cheating Be Prevented? on: 15-12-2008 03:16 PM
Statistics say that seventy-five percent of all married men in the United States are unfaithful to their wives. It is a scary statistic — even more grim that the divorce rate! Also, of the men who cheat, two-thirds of their wives are unaware of the affairs that their husbands are having. I guess that a good man really is hard to find. And men aren’t alone — wives are also cheating on their husbands more than ever. Take a look at some of the common causes of cheating, and how they can be avoided:

LACK OF segxwal INTIMACY WITHIN THE MARRIAGE

If you and your spouse have stopped being intimate with each other, or if you have drastically decreased the frequency of your intimacy, then your relationship is going to suffer. Sex is an integral part of a marriage. It is a way to share something with each other that is personal and loving, and the connection that you share during sex creates a deeper connection between the two of you that extends to all areas of your life. Although it can be difficult for many couples to find the time in their busy schedules, juggling work and family and household, it is important to make intimacy a priority, even if that means scheduling time for it. If you are too tired at the end of the day to have sex, get up for an early lovemaking session, or slip away for some private time together on a Sunday afternoon. Maintain excitement between the two of you by integrating foreplay into your everyday lives. Call your husband at work, and tell him how eager you are to be with him tonight. Leave a naughty note in your wife’s car before she leaves for work. Wear lingerie sometimes, rather than just flopping into bed in your sweatpants and t-shirt. Light candles. Hold hands. Keep the romance alive! When you have been with someone for many years, sometimes you forget that it is the little things that make the biggest difference.

LACK OF EMOTIONAL INTIMACY WITHIN THE MARRIAGE

Married couples develop a silent form of communication between one another, but you can’t eliminate verbal communication from a relationship altogether. Couples who co-exist as if they were roommates are at risk for losing the friendship side of their relationship. Talk to your spouse about your day — make it a dinner-time ritual. After dinner, don’t park in front of the television. Just sit together, and share you thoughts and feelings. It can feel as if the two of you have nothing to say to each other sometimes — as if you know it all about each other, but unless you have consistent communication, you will grow further apart, and turn into strangers. You will long for an emotionally intimate relationship, and that is why many married people stray from their mate.

segxwal ADDICTION

segxwal addiction is one of the worst afflictions that a married person can possess. Someone with a segxwal addiction craves different segxwal partners and lots of sex, and it can be as hard an addiction to conquer as drinking or drug use. It can be hard to comprehend, and very hard to forgive because when someone cheats on you, it feels like the ultimate betrayal. If you or your spouse has a segxwal addiction, then you should seek professional help. If you have a partner with segxwal addiction who refuses treatment, then you should leave the relationship to avoid the inevitable devastation you would encounter with a segxwal addict for a spouse.

MID-LIFE CRISIS AFFAIRS

The severity of a mid-life crisis varies from person to person. Many struggle to come to grips with their own mortality, and they want to make sure that they get the most out of their life experience. Some men buy a red sports car, some women rush out for plastic surgery, and some men and women stray from their relationships, often looking for a younger segxwal partner to add some spice to their life. If you notice that your partner is struggling to come to terms with aging, then you have to be a comfort to them. Remind them how much you love them, and be willing to be adventurous together. Instead of dreading aging, embrace and enjoy it together. You might consider traveling together, or getting involved in a new hobby, such as sailing. If you or your spouse is having a severely hard time, then you should seek professional help.

LIFESTYLE CHANGES

Major shifts in lifestyle can add tumult to a marriage. It could be a new job that requires very long hours and a very stressful set of responsibilities. It could be moving to a new home in a new city. It could be the birth of a child, or the death of a family member, or an unforeseen financial disaster. When our lives drastically change, we have to make adjustments in our marriages to accommodate the changes. Communicate with your spouse — share your concerns with each other. Try to change and deal with change together so that your relationship is actually strengthened by stresses in the long run. If you start leading entirely separate lives, then you are more likely to enter into an affair.

We will not fold our arms and see these corrupt people in government do all the rubbish they are doing. They are not happy with Ribadu because he dealt with his former boss( Tafa Balogun ). Tafa Balogun, we all knew that he stole money and had to pay for it, Ribadu, shouldn't be used as a scape goat for dealing with his former boss.

What exactly can one say?For as long as i can remember,i've been fed with the word,''Youths are the leaders of tomorrow".I am yet to see that come true.

Imagine the past administration coming out boldly to say,graduates could pick up a hoe and move to the forest if they are tired of searching for jobs and should stop bothering them with issues about unemployments.Yet,a one leg alive,one leg dead ex president who claim he is (we all know he is well over ),could attest to himself on the day of handover a right to float a television station.

We are tired of watching them do things in our own generation when in theirs,they had failed.We shall resist them by all means possible."By all means possible...I repeat!"

The government has really failed in its responsibility to its young people. they forget it is a vicious circle that keeps reeling. if they embezzle it is only natural that that's the  foundation that the society would be built on. we must stop that circle.

you are what you eat and it is interesting to know that a lot of what we eat is the root cause of most of the health challenges we face now. Do you know that cases of diabetes, high blood pressure,heart attack and related cardiovascular conditions has a direct relationship with our eating/ diets?.

It might interest you to know that the majority of the fast food products are detrimental to our health yet some people cannot do without the fast food joints.
11  Forum / Health / Understanding Blood Pressure on: 2-12-2008 02:15 PM
With a baby on the way, I thought that it would be prudent to apply for a life insurance policy. After doing some research, I decided to go with a term life insurance policy with a well known company in Canada. During the application process, I discovered that this particular company offers four different rates for their policies, called N, N, N, and N. Each person is assigned one of these rates based on the results of a nurse's visit, during which time questions are asked about medical history and current lifestyle, blood pressure and pulse rate are checked, and blood and urine samples are taken. I was told that the vast majority of people are put into the most expensive category, N, while a small percentage of people in especially good health with low to no risk factors for disease are put into a less expensive category, with N being the least expensive.

For the life insurance policy that I chose, I was told that being put in the N category would cost me around $. per month, while N would cost me about $.. You better believe that I was zoned into getting N. Seven bucks a month, every month, for many years to come? We're talking about a lot of lettuce and beans here.

Even though I knew that there was little that I could do to perform "better" during the nurse's visit, I was pretty anxious about it. I knew that I would get good grades for my family medical history, personal history, and current food and lifestyle choices. I figured that the only area that could hurt me was blood pressure and pulse rate, since both can be affected to a significant degree by anxiety and stress. And I was feeling a tad anxious about getting N.

The nurse reached over to take my blood pressure the minute we sat down together. I asked if she could ask her questions first to give me a chance to settle down, as I had just finished running around the clinic doing morning rounds. Not to worry, she said, as it was standard policy to take three readings, spaced out during the visit, and to take the best score. So she took her first reading.

/

Yikes. N was starting to look more realistic.

About five minutes of rest while she asked some questions was all that I needed to calm down and get my blood pressure back to its normal level of around /, I thought.

Five minutes later, she reached over to do her second reading.

/

What? I couldn't believe it. I was folding under the pressure. Could I even get N?

I just knew that my pressure was high in the moment because I was so anxious about getting N. So while she spent the next five minutes asking more questions, I started taking deep breaths, knowing that this would help to calm down my sympathetic nervous system and produce a relaxation response.

Although I had to continue answering all of her questions, I did my best to continue with slow, steady breaths, and to visualize my blood vessels relaxing. It was a chance to practice guided visualization and relaxation techniques that I teach to guests of our fasting clinic.

As the nurse set her clipboard down and reached in to wrap my arm with her cuff, things seem to move in slow motion. I almost felt like I was under water. Slow, deep breaths.

/

Amazing! I was relieved and quite happy with myself. It wasn't my usual /, but it was enough to give me a shot at something between N and N and a few extra beans each month.

This experience inspired me to write about blood pressure. What is high blood pressure, exactly? Should you be worried if you have it? What are the root causes of high blood pressure and what can you do to consistently experience healthy blood pressure?

Your blood pressure is the amount of pressure that the inner walls of your blood vessels face as blood travels through them. This pressure is no different than the pressure that the inner walls of a garden hose faces as water travels through it.

The difference between the pressure in your blood vessels and the pressure in a hose is that the pressure in your blood vessels constantly goes up and down, while the pressure in a garden hose is constant.

The pressure in your blood vessels is at its highest point with each beat of your heart. This makes sense, doesn't it? When your heart is maximally contracted, it has just sent a substantial volume of blood through your blood vessels, so the pressure on those blood vessel walls in that moment is going to be as high as it can be. This pressure is called your systolic blood pressure, the top number when you get a reading like over .

The pressure in your blood vessels is at its lowest point whenever your heart is fully relaxed. Your heart has to fully relax after each full contraction in order to fill up with more blood that it can pump out through your blood vessels. This low point of pressure is called your diastolic blood pressure, the bottom number of your reading.

Blood pressure is absolutely necessary for you to live. Just like pressure in your garden hose is needed to deliver water to your garden, pressure in your blood vessels is needed to deliver blood to your cells.

Conventional medicine has a dangerously simplistic view of blood pressure that looks something like this:

High blood pressure causes your heart to work harder and your blood vessel walls to take a beating. Both of these circumstances can increase your risk of suffering a heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure. Therefore, if you cannot fix your blood pressure on your own, you need to take medication to lower it to acceptable levels.

I completely agree that consistently having high blood pressure can increase your risk of suffering a heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems. What I don't agree with is the approach of lowering blood pressure without doing one's best to discover and address the root causes of high blood pressure for each person.

Please don't miss this point: in the vast majority of cases of high blood pressure, the pressure is high because it needs to be.

Let's think back to the example of your garden hose delivering water to your lawn. If, for some reason, there isn't enough pressure in your hose to deliver water to all parts of your lawn, you know that an easy solution is to partially cover the opening of your hose with your thumb. By decreasing the amount of space that is available for the water to travel through, you can effectively increase the pressure in your garden hose to a degree that allows the water to reach all areas of your lawn.

This is no different than what is happening in the vast majority of cases of high blood pressure. If, for some reason, there isn't enough pressure in your blood vessels to deliver blood to all of your cells, your body must find a way to increase this pressure, usually by having the heart work harder or by decreasing the size of your blood vessels.

For example, one of the most common causes of high blood pressure is arteriosclerosis, also known as hardening of the arteries. When bad food choices cause hardening of your arteries, your heart must work harder to deliver the same amount of blood to your cells, simply because hardened arteries don't provide as much space as healthy arteries to deliver blood. In this case, blood pressure is going to be higher than what is considered normal, but only because it has to be in order to get the right amount of blood to your cells.

In this example, I believe that it is wrong and dangerous to simply prescribe a pill that is aimed at lowering blood pressure. A diuretic (water pill) or beta blocker might be effective at decreasing the pressure in your blood vessels, but this will mean that your cells may struggle to receive an optimal amount of blood and the nutrients and oxygen that blood provides.

A better approach is to discover and address the root causes of arteriosclerosis. Is it that you have high blood sugar and insulin levels? Is it that you are eating damaged fats and oils? Sugar, refined carbohydrates, and damaged fats and oils are guaranteed to eventually cause arteriosclerosis if eaten on a regular basis.

The reality is that high blood pressure is usually caused by a combination of factors, with diet, exercise, weight, quality of sleep, and the way that you manage stress being the major ones.

Here is a summary of some key points to keep in mind regarding blood pressure:

* Many people are misdiagnosed with high blood pressure because of temporary emotional stress. When you visit with your doctor, ask to have your blood pressure checked at least two times. Ideally, one reading should be taken after you've had enough time to feel as emotionally and physically comfortable as possible.

* Don't go overboard with liquids prior to your reading. The average adult has around litres of blood in her blood vessels at any given time. Drinking large amounts of water right before a reading can cause high blood pressure simply because there is more water than normal in your system.

* Be sure not to have caffeine or to use over the counter drugs that contain caffeine or nasal decongestants before your visit.

* Ask your doctor or nurse to use the appropriate size cuff for your arm. A cuff that is too large or too small for your arm can produce an inaccurate reading. If your arm is large or small compared to the average adult but your practitioner blows off this request, it's best that you get another reading from someone who will pay attention to this important detail.

* A good practitioner will examine and consider your eyes, nails, skin tone, peripheral pulses, and other indicators of your health status along with your blood pressure reading to give you proper guidance and recommendations. Even with a blood pressure of / or higher, it may not be in your best interest to take medication if you don't show any other signs of cardiovascular or kidney disease.

* Remember that your blood pressure is almost always exactly where it needs to be. If it's high, it's usually because for one reason or another, it needs to be. Since high blood pressure over the long haul does increase your risk for cardiovascular and kidney disease, it is in your best interest to align your food and lifestyle choices with a healthy blood pressure somewhere around / for most people.

* The most common causes of high blood pressure are: regular consumption of sugar, refined carbohydrates, unhealthy fats and oils, regular exposure to nicotine, caffeine, ineffective management of emotional stress, being overweight, and not getting enough restful sleep. Managing these factors is the best approach to achieving and maintaining healthy blood pressure.

* If you are doing a relatively good job with managing the factors listed above but still have high blood pressure, it's important to work with a good practitioner who can help you rule out other causes of high blood pressure such as renal artery or kidney disease, a congenitally narrow aorta (coarctation of the aorta), a tumour in the inner portion of your adrenal glands (pheochromocytoma), a problem in the outer portion of your adrenal glands (primary aldosteronism and Cushing's disease), or specific nutritional deficiencies like calcium and magnesium deficiencies. For women, pregnancy and use of oral contraceptives can also be causes of high blood pressure.

12  Forum / Health / Synthetic VS Natural Vitamins on: 2-12-2008 02:07 PM
Here are some facts that you won’t find advertised on most of the vitamin supplements at your local vitamin store:

    * The majority of commercial vitamin supplements are made up of synthetic vitamins
    * Synthetic vitamins do not perform the same functions in your body as vitamins found naturally in whole food
    * Many synthetic vitamins deplete your body of other nutrients and tax your kidneys before being excreted through your urine

If you want a comprehensive understanding of what vitamins are and what they do in your body, it would be best to take a full course in biochemistry. Do you remember all of those molecular formulas and chemical reactions that you studied in your high school chemistry class? Biochemistry is really just an extension of chemistry, with an emphasis on the thousands of chemical reactions that occur in your body on a momenttomoment basis.

Anyone who studies biochemistry learns that vitamins do not exist as single components that act on their own. Vitamins are made up of several different components – enzymes, coenzymes, and cofactors– that must work together to produce their intended biologic effects.

Vitamins that are found naturally in whole foods come with all of their necessary components. The majority of vitamins that are sold in pharmacies, grocery stores, and vitamin shops are synthetic vitamins, which are only isolated portions of the vitamins that occur naturally in food.

A good example is vitamin C. If you take a look at a variety of vitamin C supplements, you will find that the majority of them contain only ascorbic acid or a compound called ascorbate, which is a less acidic form of acorbic acid. Ascorbic acid is NOT vitamin C. It represents the outer ring that serves as a protective shell for the entire vitamin C complex, much like an orange peel that serves as a protective shell for an orange. Real vitamin C found in whole foods like fruits and vegetables contain the following components:

    * Rutin
    * Bioflavonoids (vitamin P)
    * Factor K
    * Factor J
    * Factor P
    * Tyrosinase
    * Ascorbinogen
    * Ascorbic Acid

When you take only ascorbic acid found in your synthetic vitamin C tablet or powder, your body must gather all of the other components of the full vitamin C complex from your body’s tissues in order to make use of it. In the event that your body does not have adequate reserves of the other components, ascorbic acid itself does not provide any of the health benefits that the full vitamin C complex does. After circulating through your system, the unused ascorbic acid is eliminated through your urine.

Just like vitamin C, almost all other vitamins that we know of offer their full health benefits when they are in the presence of a number of enzymes, coenzymes, cofactors, and even minerals. For example, Vitamin D may have as many as twelve different active components, while vitamin P has at least five different components. The mineral copper is needed for full vitamin C activity, while vitamin E works closely with the mineral selenium to provide its health promoting, antioxidative effect.

Clearly, it is best to get your vitamins from whole foods because whole foods provide complete vitamins rather than fractions of them. In many cases, whole foods also provide the minerals that are necessary for optimal vitamin activity. For example, sunflower seeds are an excellent whole food source of vitamin E and the mineral selenium, both of which need each other to offer their full health benefits.

How do you know if the vitamins on your kitchen counter are from whole foods or if they are synthetic?

If the list of ingredients includes an actual vitamin like Vitamin C” rather than an actual food that contains natural vitamin C like “acerola cherry powder”, you can bet that it is a synthetic vitamin.

If you choose to use nutritional supplements, it is in your best interest to use only those products that list actual foods as their ingredients rather than synthetic and isolated vitamins. While some synthetic and isolated vitamins have been shown to provide minimal health benefits, on the whole, most of them cause more harm than good and you are far better off spending your money on whole foods.

It is important to note that the principles in this article are just as relevant and applicable to minerals and mineral supplements.

Mangoes, carrots, banana’s, pineapples, cherries, apples, watermelon, pears, grapes,…yummy…amazing way to keep fit.

One way to keep or have a healthy lifestyle is to take fruits. Eat a variety of fruits & vegetables.  We all need to maintain a healthy body and fight diseases and the way to do this is to take Fruits & Vegetables.  That’s their job! Yet most of us don’t eat enough of them. They are an excellent source of the vitamins, fiber and the minerals we need to fight diseases and maintain a healthy body.

So, how do you start? Aim for fruit and vegetable a day

What? Did you say fruits? Yes! This may sound a lot but you see, with a bit of  forward planning, you will see that it’s easy to meet the day goal without having to make major changes to your eating habits. Different types of fruits & vegetables provide different nutrients in varying amounts, so choosing from a wide variety of them is best. a glass of orange juice, an apple, a small can of tomatoes or baked beans each count as one portion. So you can start by…

·      Eating fruit at breakfast – e.g. a banana with your cereal, a glass of fruit juice

·      Adding salad to sandwiches

·      Adding extra fruit to dessert

·      Putting more vegetables in soups, stews and pasta sauces

·      Adding sliced vegetables to pizza

Bananas for instance is a good way to start your day with. Ever wondered why banana is the no fruit with the world’s leading athletes. Bananas contain three natural sugars sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous minute work. But energy isn't the only way, a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier. So eat a banana today and experience the difference. The vitamin B it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Banana is rich in iron and can stipulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia. This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium, yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure.

Just one fruit, all this and so much more…

So….keep being fit & healthy as you enjoy all the yummy fruits

Although its a sacred topic, we all know guys and some chics at one time in their life ‘wank’ and so i saw this story on the internet and wanted to share.

Claire headed off to work one morning just as she always did, leaving 30 minutes before her husband, Mark. No sooner did she pull out of the driveway than she realized she’d left her favorite lipstick on the bathroom sink. When she ran into the house to grab it and go, she accidentally saw Mark in the shower -- masturbating. She had always assumed that he pleasured himself, but she’d never actually seen it.

Claire’s feelings were all over the map that morning: Should I pretend I saw nothing? What should I do? Is it normal?

Masturbation was once vilified as a perversion. All sorts of efforts, ranging from extreme guilt to diabolic contraptions, were made to discourage both single and partnered people from doing it. Yet sexologist Alfred Kimsey’s groundbreaking data, first reported in the 1950s, had plenty to say about the subject, including that women who masturbated before becoming segxwal in a marriage had a much better likelihood of achieving orgasms during segxwal contact with their husbands.

Still, mental health experts were not particularly vocal about the health aspects of masturbation until the 1970s. Even though masturbation’s benefits have been regularly proffered since then, many people today still feel extremely uncomfortable about doing it or discussing it -- much less allowing their partner to see them in the act.

What’s a healthy way to view masturbation? It’s appropriate, and a valid option in a relationship, when one’s partner is unavailable due to physical separation, fatigue, recovery from childbirth, or illness. It also helps balance discrepancies in frequency desires. Since there is no formula bestowed during a marriage ceremony that magically aligns two people to have the same level of segxwal interest, masturbation is a good thread to weave through a relationship’s tapestry.

Most couples have a “higher frequency partner” and a “lower frequency partner.” This desire discrepancy puzzles many couples. They struggle with having sex when they don’t really want to. Some wrestle with deeply held feelings that they should be everything their partner desires segxwally.

This is a nearly impossible task, and I counsel people to let go of that goal. Masturbation helps with an imbalance and helps couples avoid being coerced up or down in frequency by their partner. It’s an aid to a relationship over the long haul.

Claire has a couple of healthy choices when she discovers Mark masturbating. She can grab her lipstick, respect his privacy, and -- saying nothing -- go. Or she can tap on the shower door and say, “Wish I could join you! See you later!”
19  Forum / Health / Food classes and Their Dangers on: 15-11-2008 12:34 PM
It is difficult to exercise without enforcing a strict regime on our diets, I have read some articles here and I was inspired to write, to let people know how the types of food we chow down affect of bodies. Please, do not get me wrong, food is good, but we need to be aware of what we eat, and how we can eat it in the right way or ways:

Carbon-hydrate:
French Fries, Yam, Garri, bread, Rice, Fufu etc, these foods are delicious to have but should be avoided like a plague at night because our bodies find it very difficult to break down. No matter how many cups of water you may drink these foods would still take a minimum of 30 minutes to break down and because of the amount of sugar that these foods have, they are more likely to attack you fatty tissues and help them expand.
A suitable time to eat carbon-hydrates is in the afternoon and in moderation followed by fruits of a vegetable salad, this is because fruits are natural purgatives and the same can be said about vegetables.

Proteins
Beans, Fish, Chicken White, Beef (Strictly), these are good sources of nutrients, if you eat them in moderation. When eating chicken it is advisable that you peel out the skin, coz that contains a lot of oil. Please try as much as possible to have a meal a day that has a rich source of protein.

Fruits and Vegetable
Do you know that a bowl of salad (fruit or vegetable) is a full meal? Yes it is, but it is not advisable that you eat it three times a day, that is punishment and not a diet. Try at least every day to eat a fruit or a vegetable. Roll Eyes
Bon appetite, stay healthy.

20  Forum / Health / What are your views/experience on female circumcision? on: 14-11-2008 07:27 PM
Female circumcision, officially known as female genital mutilation, is one of the most political areas of w omen's health. Worldwide it is estimated that well over 100 million women have been subjected to it.

Supporters of the practice say it is done for cultural and religious reasons, but opponents say that not only is it potentially life-threatening - it is also an extreme form of oppression of women.

Those who persist in the practice in Senegal will now face a prison term of between one and five years.

Female circumcision is mainly carried out in western and southern Asia, the Middle East and large areas of Africa.

It is also known to take place among immigrant communities in the USA, Canada, France, Australia and Britain, where it is illegal.

In total it is estimated that two million a year are subjected to genital mutilation.

But I have a very humble question for our sisters in this network: Do you think that female circumcision has anything positive to contribute to your womanhood? Forget about the politics (of the West) and the "sciences" surrounding this topic, be practical and honest. From your experience as either a circumcised or non-circumcised sister; from your conversation with those who are not the way you are.

Let's learn with your experience - OBJECTIVELY!

God alone!
