The Gwoza Christian Community Association in Borno State has released details of disturbing disclosures made by six Christian girls who were abducted in 2013 by the dreaded Boko Haram sect.
The girls were abducted last year from different locations in Gwoza local government area. Their statements revealed that, following their abduction, they were subjected to serial rapes by Boko Haram terrorists. In addition, they were turned into domestic slaves in various Boko Haram camps before they pulled off their daring and lucky escapes. Continue...

Istifanus Ibrahim, one of the Christians in Gwoza, disclosed that the extremist Islamist sect had many abducted girls in their camps long before their abduction of more than 200 students from Government Secondary School, Chibok, in Borno State drew international media attention and global outrage.
Below are the summaries provided by the Christian community in Gwoza from the extensive statements of the six girls who escaped from Boko Haram camps. The girls’ names and other identities have been concealed for their security and in order to protect them from stigmatization:


 Captive for 12 days in Boko Haram Camp in Sambisa (15th May 2013 - 26th May 2013).
She boarded for commercial bus at Tashan Bama in Maiduguri on 15th May 2013. There were five men in the vehicle when they took off. She was the only female among them. When they reach Bama Local government around Firgi area in Borno State, some Boko Haram members with heavy weapons abducted them and they were taken to Boko haram camp in Sambisa Games Reserve.

Immediately after their arrival they slew the five men with knife in her presence. She was there in their camp for 12 days when they slew more than 50 people in her presence. Whenever they bring a hostage, they check their identity card and differentiate them base on their belief, if your Christian they killed you, if the victim happened to be Muslim they recruit them. Those who refused they slew them.

It was one faithful day on 26th may 2013 that she escaped when the insurgent distance themselves from them to service their weapons and equally trained the new recruit on how to handled guns. She was pondered on how to run when she saw how females were killed.

They told her to get ready for conversion the following morning, and fortunately God took control of the event and one young man among the captive took courage and jump into one of their cars and started it. Eventually she and other six young men entered the car and they drow off. Unfortunately the Boko Haram followed them and succeeded in killing four but she and the driver escaped. That was how they abandon the vehicle and trek for some more Kilometers to get to the main road.


Captive for 3 Months in Boko Haram at Gwoza Hills (12th May 2013 - 13th Sept 2013)

This was a girl abducted by the insurgents in early May 2013 and was in their custody for about three months before her escape in September, 2013 by the grace of God. Luckily they did not segxwally abuse her as she was groomed to marry the insurgent leaders' junior brother. However, she suffered beating even at point of death to convert to Islam and forced to wear their 'hijab' as they go from one hiding came to another atop the mountain hills where they are based.

She even followed them to the attack on Gwna police station conveying the bullets they used during the attack. Her escaped gave her a new life of hope but never believed it was really true until she was taken out of Borno State.

Her parents' home and the whole village were attacked after her escape, burning all the houses and killing two people in revenge. She was later examined and found physically fine.


Held captive for 22 days in Boko Haram at Gwoza Hills (30th Sept. 2013 - 20th Oct. 2013)
It was around 8:00pm on 30th September, 2013 when Boko Haram with heavy weapons came and broke into her brothers room and shoot him. They took his wife out and put a gun to her head, but when they heard another strange event outside the compound, the insurgents came back again and asked the ladies including her to come out. There they captured herself, her sister & her brother's wife and took them away as captives. They were taken to the camp on the mountain top in Ghwa'a village where the leader of the Boko Haram stayed.

She who is a dedicated Christian was asked to denounced Christ and accept Islam or else she would be slaughtered. Out of fear she agreed and they ceremonially cited Quran verses, gave her a veil (Himar) and named her Maryam.

After converting her she was taken to (Emir) leader of the camp who was called Ibrahim Tada Nglayire and she was married one of the insurgents called Abdul, where she was segxwally abused. After that, he asked her to perform an exercise of taking water from a kettle to bath with it as sign of cleansing from the sex they had. Which he called WAKAN JANABA.

The insurgents gets their money from External sources, she always heard them mentioning Arab countries etc. Some among their local sponsors whom they mention were some District Heads in Borno State and a member of the State House of Assembly . They always thanked them for supporting with money and protection. On the 20th of October, 2013, when the insurgent have left to get their ammunition, their leader's wife brought them together in a conversations. That was how she escaped.


Held captive for 22 days in Boko Haram at Gwoza Hills (30th Sept. 2013 - 20th Oct. 2013)

She was kidnapped by Boko Haram on 30th September, 2013. She was taken to their camp. The following sub-gang leader of the insurgent took her to the Emir, (Ibrahim Tadaghleke) for an update on how they captured them. When Ibrahim saw her, he immediately ordered her conversion to Islam and gave her a husband. The husband came in the night to segxwally abused her, when she refused he brought his gun and knife to kill her if she attempt to stop him again. He left her when he discovered she was on her monthly period.
They normally speak Kanuri language, Arabic and Hausa talking about Some District heads and a member of the State House of Assembly. Popular in their conversation is that, they hate President Jonathan because he is Pagan and sent the Army to kill them. She escaped when she tactically dropped her shoes on the entrance of the door. She picked a kettle with pretence to enter toilet. That was how she made her way to escape. They went through serious challenges, but God save her.


Held captive for 22 days in Boko Haram at Gwoza Hills (28th Sept. 2013 - 20th Oct. 2013)
She was captured and held as a slave by the Boko Haram group on 28th September, 2013. Their house was invaded by the insurgents. In their palour, they asked for their names. When they found out they were Christians, they went with her. They started going up the hill for almost 2 days on foot. When they reached a village called KWATARA, one of them went from there and entered another village. It took them additional ( eight hours before they reach a place in a cave on top of Mandara mountains hills, where they were kept for almost two weeks before proceeded to another location
She was converted to Islam and was given a Muslim name called HASIYA, and married to an insurgent. She was raped and segxwally abused by force under a treat of Gun. She was only 15 years old and still a virgin.



 Held captive for 5 days in Boko Haram at Gwoza Hills (19th Nov. 2013 - 23th Nov. 2013)

They met her around the Cameroonian boarder, caught her and started beating her. One among the Boko Haram pulled her veil, tore it and tied her hands behind and started beating her with plastic pipes. Another one of the insurgents dragged her and tied another rope behind her and pulling her like animal. She was then taken to the mountains travelling throughout the night where they went to a village in the hill they call Hraza. It was too gloomy because there were so many branches within the caves. She quickly agreed to convert to Muslim with a knife of her throat, on 19 November, 2013. They cited Quranic verse which she repeats after them. She was given KALMAN SHAHADA. She saw a man called MALLAM where they were staying. He doesn't come out in a day time, neither does he follow them for operations, but he gives orders and instruction as final authority. He doesn't open his face. He is aways in a veil like Arab man, in all white clothes. The second in command was called Ibrahim Tadagleke and then mallam Audu and Mallam Saidu, whom were the operational commanders.
On the 21 November, 2013, the overall MALLAM, who was in charge of giving orders came out and went round the camp around 5:00pm - 6:00pm. He was accompanied by Ibrahim who they called Emir followed by operational commanders and then over 80 armed insurgents were behind him. Some among their sponsors where late Mohammed Gadafi before he died. People from Chad were used to import the weapons, on Carmel and herdsmen from Niger.
Their main funds comes from Afghanistan and Iraq. They always thanked the Arab countries. Most of the people that sponsored them locally were disguised. She escaped from them on 23 November, 2013.

When Dr. Dre moves, he makes big moves.

Lauren Beale of the Los Angeles Times reports the rap mogul and Beats Electronics founder has officially purchased Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s $40 million mansion estate in Brentwood, Los Angeles.

According to Beale, the four-acre property features a French chateau surrounded by gardens, a cobblestone motor court and a moat teeming with koi fish.

Designed by architect Richard Landry, the home is an 18,298-square-foot mansion with five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a library/study, a gym, a sauna, covered terraces and seven fireplaces—because no chateau worth its mortar has fewer fireplaces than bedrooms.

While a $40 million home is the height of extravagance, the price Dre paid for the property is substantially less than the original listing. Brady and his wife placed their mansion on the market with the asking price of $50 million, which Dre was presumably able to haggle down by a tidy $10 million.

Dre’s purchase comes fast on the heels of the decision to sell his thriving music streaming and headphone company he co-founded in 2008 to Apple.

According to Elizabeth Lazarowitz and Cory Siemaszko of the New York Daily News, the producer and his business partner Jimmy lovine sold Beats Music and Beats Electronics to the multinational corporation in May for $2.6 billion in cash and $400 million in stock options. Dre and lovine also accepted positions as Apple executives working under CEO Tim Cooke as part of the deal.

Naturally, selling his headphones company has landed Dre firmly in the black, with more than enough cash on hand for snapping up mansions with moats.

As for Brady and Bundchen, according to an article on Trulia.com (h/t Tony Manfred of Business Insider), the two are in the market for an apartment in New York City. They reportedly were looking at an $11.5 million duplex in Manhattan earlier in the year.

I can already hear Brady walking into a giant, multi-level pad overlooking Central Park and gushing about how much more “manageable” it will be.

 The 13-year-old daughter of poor Indian farmers who became the youngest girl to climb Mount Everest said Wednesday that she "shed joyful tears" at the summit after a grueling climb across difficult terrain and personal fear.

Nepal requires climbers to be at least 16 years old to scale its peaks, but Malavath Poorna said she and a team of Nepalese guides climbed the 29,035-foot mountain on May 25 from the northern side in Tibet. There are no age restrictions in China.

"It was very difficult. Every step is a dangerous step," a smiling Poorna told reporters in New Delhi, describing steep slopes, exposed rocks, deep crevasses and extreme cold that went below minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

At 10,830 feet, she said she saw "six dead bodies. I was shocked. Oh my god I got some fear."

But she remembered her training and regained her confidence.

"When I reached the top of Everest, very good experience. I feel great and proud, and I shed joyful tears" as she looked around and saw "mighty mountains and morning sunlight," she said in English, waving her hands expressively as she spoke.

The climb was verified by the China Tibet Mountaineering Association in Lhasa, making Malavath the youngest girl to climb Everest. American Jordan Romero, from Big Bear, California, became the youngest boy at age 13 to reach the summit -- also from the Tibetan side -- in 2010.

Malavath said her parents, impoverished farmers from the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, encouraged her during eight months of training despite the fact that she had never before been on a mountain. Her family are dalits, once known as "untouchables," at the bottom of India's ancient caste system.

The expedition was sponsored by the Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Educational Institution Society as part of its program to encourage and help underprivileged students in India.

32 year old Afusat Saliu (pictured right) has been deported from the UK after a campaign to keep her in the country failed. There was a campaign against her deportation on the grounds that her two daughters, 4 and 2 (pictured above) face the possibility of female genital mutilation in Nigeria.

Afusat had fled Nigeria in 2011, claiming her stepmother had threatened to circumcise her first daughter. She was pregnant again at the time and claimed she feared her second daughter would also be subjected to FGM.

Afusat and her two daughters were arrested on May 28th by the UK Border Agency and although over 120,000 people signed a petition calling on the Home Office not to deport her, the campaign failed as the woman and her kids were put on a flight back to Nigeria yesterday June 4th.
"We consider every claim for asylum on its individual merits and in this case, the claimant was not considered to be in need of protection. The case has gone through the proper legal process and our decision has been supported by the UK courts on five separate occasions, while the European Court of Human Rights declined an application to halt the removal." UK Home Office said.
Afusat's lawyer said she's spoken to her since she returned to Nigeria and said Afusat is quite upset at being sent back and plans to continue fighting her case until she's allowed back in the UK.

June 5, 2014 – Joseph Olita Is Dead: Rise And Fall Of Idi Amin Actor Dies Of High Blood Pressure

The Kenyan actor who played the role of Ex-Ugandan ruler Idi Amin in 1981 movie, ‘Rise and Fall of Idi Amin’ has passed.

He reportedly passed away on the 1st of June 2014 in Kogelo, Kenya at age 70 after a long time battle with High Blood Pressure.

He died less than 24 hours after the burial of his mother who lived in Uganda.

The movie, ‘Rise and Fall of Idi Amin’, is a 1981 biographical film directed by Sharad Patel and stars the deceased as the lead character. The flick details the controversial actions and atrocities of the former dictator of Uganda during his violent rise to power in 1971 until his overthrow in 1979, as a result of the Uganda–Tanzania War.

The late actor, who was six feet 5.5 inches and weighed 150kg, bore a striking resemblance to the late Idi Amin.

A close relative, Ms. Risper Odero, was said to have described Olita’s death as a big blow to the family, especially since it happened less than 24 hours after the burial of his mother.

May his soul rest in peace.

June 5, 2014 – Boko Haram Escape Routes Blocked By Chad & Cameroon

To facilitate the rescue of the over 200 abducted Chibok schoolgirls, Cameroon and Chad may have agreed to block routes in their territories used by Boko Haram, it was learnt yesterday.

Some of the routes, top security sources told The Nation, have been identified.

If the routes are blocked, the sect will be confined to its camps in Nigeria.

A military source, who spoke in confidence with our correspondent last night, said all those involved in the planned rescue of the girls have been holding strategy meetings.

The source said: “The pre-rescue plans have reached advanced stage and very soon, we expect tangible results.

“Cameroon and Chad troops have identified some camps and movement routes of Boko Haram. They want to block these routes in order to restrict the sect operations to Nigeria.

“With the blockade, Nigerian troops with neighboring countries’ forces and the foreign counterparts can move in to rescue the girls wherever they are located.

“We have located where the girls are but the priority now is to see the best way to get these girls out without casualties.

“We are strategising on how to ensure a successful rescue operation.”

The Federal Government also spoke on ongoing efforts to get back the girls, saying it has not foreclosed negotiation with Boko Haram.

Coordinator of the National Information Centre Mike Omeri told reports in Abuja that all options, including negotiation, were on the cards on rescuing the girls.

Giving an update on security operations in the Northeast, where Boko Haram is on the rampage, Omeri said.

He did not state the negotiation steps taken by the government.

Last Sunday the London’s Mail on Sunday reported that an Australian, Dr. Stephen Davis, as been hired by the government to negotiate with Boko Haram on the girls’ release.

The negotiator, who is a friend of the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who visited President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja yesterday, told the newspaper that the girls were being kept in Chad, Cameron and Niger.

He advised against urging force to rescue the girls to prevent them from coming to harm.

“The Federal Government is totally committed and focused towards ensuring that our beloved children, kidnapped girls, are returned safe and sound.

“Therefore, as we said before, all options in line with international best practices are open in this case,’’ Omeri said.

Omeri said the Federal Government had begun the distribution of relief materials to communities affected by the insurgency in the Northeast and Jos, the Plateau State, while scores died in an explosion about two weeks ago, through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

According to him, efforts are ongoing to reach victims also affected by the insurgency in other states.

Omeri called for help from the public, individuals and corporate organisations, for the victims.

Also yesterday, a coordinator of BringBackOurGirls campaign, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, yesterday said the campaigners were never busy bodies.

She said no smear campaign would deter the protesters.

Ezekwesili said: “Our character and not reputation is what we were brought up to cherish and build. Nothing the authors of falsehood do touches one’s character.

“The Federal Government’s failure so far to rescue our Chibok girls is the consequence of the systemic indifference that followed the news of their abduction.

“Until the Federal Government owns up to the truth of their nearly three weeks of neglect of our Chibok girls, it makes it harder for citizens to believe their efforts.

“Experts say that proactive steps taken within the first 24 hours of abduction increase the probability of rescue. After five days, it is harder.

“For the sake of the Chibok girls, one pleads that embracing the truth, no matter how hard it is, will help the Federal Government to BringBackOurGirls.

On the allegation that the campaigners had been crying more than the bereaved, the former Vice President of the World Bank said those saying so were ignorant.

She added: “Some say we cry more than the bereaved. Well, what do they know? If only they have seen or heard as I have some of the mums and dads of the girls.

“So, those of you that have voice, never cease to use it for the Chibok girls. They need you and I keep demanding BringBackOurGirls.”
