2  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / #BringBackOurGirls: Have We Been Jonathanned? on: 8-06-2014 07:32 AM

It’s almost two whole months that our precious girls have been living in Sambisa forest with that monster, ‘Shekau’ and his band of ragtag drug addicted, randy, barbaric and satanic hired hooligans. What happened to #BringBackOurGirls? Have we become as disconnected, unfettered, clueless, nonchalant and useless as a Jonathan? Have we the people lost our credibility, our conscience, our humanity like the head of Nigeria; and all but abandoned our girls-ourselves to the more wicked alleys of fate?

Was the coming of the US experts what cooled us down? Then perhaps we did not hear the US in exasperation confess that they were handicapped with the sabotaged and destroyed Jonathanian forces with whom they cannot even share security information. No, the US coming was not the answer to the problem. It never was a solution to our thousands of abducted boys and girls with Boko Haram.
Whenever our girls come out if they ever do, they will tell you, ‘which US?’ ‘Where were they when Boko Haram raped and raped us?’ *God forbid.

We presented our options to Jonathan; many of them. What happened since? Why has the world gone silent? Is one mad man able to intimidate and terrorize 6 billion?

We told him that if the Chibok parents so felt and agreed, he could negotiate and exchange ONLY, non combatant, none rape indicted members for their daughters. Two parents have already died, Jonathan is not interested in alleviating the pain.

We wrote him a detailed letter a week after the abduction, demanding executive authorization for the right to bear arms, so over 50,000 Nigerian youth from Borno to Delta, from Adamawa to Calabar and around the world will proceed to swiftly ransack Borno for all terrorists and abductees. He is yet to respond. He doubles down on his throne in the valley of treacherous betrayal at the corner of desertion and abandonment, with the staff of death in his hand.

The hunters asked him to support them with an upgrade of arms and actionable intelligence, so they go into the forests they know better than any and crush Boko Haram, mere mortals as they are, and bring back our girls. He blocked his ears to their request, for which they have gathered and waited for two months plus in Borno, losing their patience. He turned his back on yet another option from the people to sacrifice their lives to free our children and restore peace to peaceful Borno and remove Nigeria from its position as the most terrorized nation. With his back turned, he raised his hands and danced against her gluteus.

So I ask. As a people, does it end there? Does one man make a Jonathan of the rest of us? Does one man render 168 million clueless and useless? Does one man turn 6 billion inept, corrupted and facilitators of terror by their failure to act and to act appropriately? Only a Jonathan will wait for Jonathan to #BringBackOurGirls, so I ask – have we been Jonathanned?

4  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Jessica Alba's Company Barred From USA For Untested Drugs! on: 8-06-2014 07:06 AM

Jessica Alba's multi-million household goods retail company, The Honest Company is under fire from the US government after parents got angered that it had been out-sourcing some production to China and importing sick wet wipes into america; claiming the overseas factories couldn't possibly be up to the brand's standards.
Even though the company's execs have reportedly assured consumers that every effort had been taken to vet their foreign factories, at least one of them has a disturbing history of importing unsafe products that were barred by the FDA for including untested drugs, according to Radar.
The American Hygienics which is one of the major suppliers of The Honest Company located in Shanghai, has a history of being barred from importing to the U.S. after the FDA found "unsafe" and "untested" drugs in their wipes. The wipes the company was trying to import into the US appeared to contain "a new animal drug which is unsafe," and subsequently blocked the shipment.
Funny thing is according to valid reports, Honest Company had received more than 142,595 cartons of wet wipes from the Shanghai–based supplier in 2014 alone, and their relationship with the company goes back to 2012, the year the company was founded.
With her movie career unstable, What do you suggest sweet Jessica Alba to do at this point?

12  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / "A Guys First Experience with smoking Weed" on: 8-06-2014 06:35 AM

LWKMD!! I got this story from experience, it really worth sharing
Guys forget the length of this story, its worth reading,  very very hilarious.
When i say weed is bad, I mean its really really bad!!
Oya, start reading!!

--
I had just moved out of my parents house and was sharing a room with my "friend". I had no idea he smoked weed, despite his suspicious movements and signature weed scent(abi na odour?) barely two weeks after moving in with him, my worst fears were confirmed as he started bringing home his weed smoking buddies and they would occassionally roll a wrap and smoke it right there in the room or mix the weed with beans or spagehtti.

Being a very curious person i always wondered what made them happy after smoking, so i decided to find out for myself(wrong move) It was a very hot day in february, a saturday i think it was, my friend was out as usual.

I searched everywhere for his stash but couldn't find it so i decided to go and get mine. I arrived the weed joint all sweaty and nervous, half expecting to get muged but nobody seemed to be aware of my presence there, they were all on different planets all expect one i concluded that he must be the seller so i approached him and the following conversation ensued:

Me: how far?
Weed seller: i dey
Me: i wan buy weed
Weed seller: how many parcel?
Me: parcel ke? Iro oo, na just small i need
Weed seller: laughs really hard. bolo leleyi sha (meaning this guy is a dunce oo)

Apparently, a parcel of weed is that small wrap, i didn't know that. I thought it was something very large. I gave him 1000naira and he gave me a tiny wrap of weed with a white paper, i was suprised when he gave me 950 as change.

I couldn't believe weed was that cheap. On my way home, i decided not to smoke it but mix it with beans because i thought that it will be better that way(another wrong move).

Long story short, i cooked beans and added the whole weed, ate it and called my friend, i told him ogbeni i just ate weed oo and nothing happened to me this one that you people will eat and be feeling funky, i don chop am oo.

My friend was like ehen you be strong man ooI decided to take a quick nap before doing laundry, i woke up about 20 minutes later on the floor i was banging my head on the floor, and i couldn't stop, my heart beat was so audible and fast, everything was extra bright and extra loud.

After a few minutes of head banging, i was able to get up from the floor, I felt as if i had just gained access to a part of my mind that I never knew existed previously, it was scary and cool at the same time.

I could feel the blood flowing in my veins(you have to experience it to believe it. Though I strongly advise against it) i felt so uncomfortable in the room, it felt like i was in an oven suddenly a voice in my head wisphered ogbeni bo aso e joor (off your clothes) i obeyed.

The voice came again oya sa re(now run) that was when i realised that the weed had taken effect so i decided to take a shower to see if it will calm me down, but the water felt so hot on my skin so hot i ran out of the bathroom.

I called my friend to see if he could help me make sense of what was going on but he laughed at me, he asked me the quantity of weed i took and i told him i used a whole parcel, he said guyyyyy you don eff up if you no sleep in the next 30mins, you go mad oo go chemist make you go explain yourself.

By this time things had escalated, i had a severe itch at the back of my head that wouldn't go away no matter how hard i scratched and i was convinced that the beating in my chest was an evil spirit that could only be killed with a punch.

I ran to my neighbour champion and told him champion e jo e fun mi lese laya (champion pls punch me in the chest) ti e ba gbami lese laya mo ma ku oo(if you don't punch me i will die oo) he hissed and walked out having had enough of such nonsense from the boys in the boys quatters.
The voice in my head came again iwo na o de gba ara e lese laya abi o ti fe ku ni (why don't you punch yourself in the chest or do you want to die?) i punched and punched but there was no difference.
The house was getting hotter, the voice in my head was getting louder, the itch in my head was getting worse, and the evil spirit in my chest was getting louder.

Then came the voice again oya ma sare lo(start running) so i started running but on getting outside in the sun, i felt so cold i was shivering but that didn't stop me from running (i would have given husain bolt a run for his money on that day).

On getting to the chemist, i realised i was bare footed, i told him i had a severe headache i needed something to make me sleep immediately, he gave me the drug and i chewed it right there in his presence, next i asked him to give me a drug for evil spirit, that was when he realised something was wrong with me and chased me out.

I got back home and tried to sleep but my heart beat wouldnt let me, so i ran back out this time around to a nurse in the area, first thing she asked was kilode o wo bata ni? (why don't you have your shoes on? I told her jackie chan ti gba bata lowo mi (jackie chan collected my shoes) i was finally able to explain my situation to her and she took me in, tied something around my elbow and injected me directly in the vein.

I passed out immediately only to wake around 1 or 2am in the middle of the night with the worst kind of hunger I have ever felt in my life. I ate a whole loaf of butter field bread in one sitting without butter or tea.

I came home to a hero's welcome, my friend told me e be like say your head no carry am but e go better make you try am once more so you go dey use to it.

The following day while the house was empty, I packed my Ghana must go and like the prodigal son in the bible I went back home to my parents. It's been a few years since that experience but the lesson I learnt is an unforgettable one.

My curiosity hasn't gotten me in trouble again and my circle of friends have since changed.

15  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Obasanjo is to be Blamed for BokoHaram's Act - Muhammed Fawehinmi on: 8-06-2014 06:19 AM

Son of late human rights activist, Gani Fawehinmi, Muhammed Fawehinmi while speaking on a live Tv programme, Bimbo and Shola Connect on LTV8 said former president Obasanjo is partly to be blamed for what the Nation is facing today. According to him, the Russian military intelligence had warned him during his administration over the growth of some unknown fundamentalist building up in Sambisa forest but he ignored their warnings.
He also said the best way to rescue the over 200 missing school girls was for the government to agree to the sect's ‘release our men, and get back your girls’ option.
“What matters most as of now is the safety of the missing girls, the Jonathan led government can release the prisoners as requested by Boko haram just to get the girls and then adopt other military measures in fighting the sect,” Muhammed said.

17  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Why Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's Father Won Chieftaincy Suit in Delta State on: 8-06-2014 06:14 AM

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's father, Obi Chukwuka Okonjo, has  won a chieftaincy suit in Ogwashi-Uku Aniocha South local government area of Delta State.
There was a controversy as to whose chieftaincy position is valid in Ogwashi-Uku and which Obi that can perform the installation.
11 claimants, including Emmanuel Nwaolise, had in a joint statement deemed illegal, null and void their purported removal by Obi Okonjo and four others, having been installed by the then-prescribed authority of Ogwashi-Uku community leader, Felix Izediunor.
Meanwhile, Obi Okonjo maintained that the said claimants cannot be considered chiefs since the aforementioned Felix Izediunor was himself not validly installed and recognised as the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku.
The High Court ruled that the self-acclaimed Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, Felix Izediunor, was not validly installed as the Obi of the community and, therefore, could not have derived the power in accordance with Ogwashi-Uku native law and custom to perform the duties ascribed to the holder of the position to wit: installation of a chief in the community.
The judgment was a fallout of a suit instituted against the reigning Obi of the community, Prof. Chukwuka Okonjo, by some chiefs and elders of Azungwu Quarters in Ogwashi-Uku over what they termed their unlawful removal from their positions by Obi Okonjo.
The defendants also tendered a former court judgment which restored the Obiship throne of Ogwashi-Uku to Umu-Obahai lineage which subsequently gave birth to the emergence of Obi Chukwuka Okonjo as the current Obi of Ogwashi-Uku.
Delivering judgment, Justice Theresa Diai observed that since the said Felix Izediunor was not presented to the Onihe family for installation as adduced in the evidence of the defendants, he could not be said to have emerged the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, especially wherein the claimants on their part failed to prove to the contrary that the said Felix Izediunor was validly installed by the Onihe family of Ogwashi-Uku under its native law and custom.

18  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Boko Haram: We Have Moles Amongst Us - Military on: 8-06-2014 06:11 AM

There are indeed growing concerns within the military on the infiltration of its ranks by agents who leak operational strategies to Boko Haram insurgents that have of late increased their tempo of ambush attacks on security forces, leaving on their trail high profile casualties on the part of the armed forces.
The concern, which is the subject of a recent intelligence report on President Goodluck Jonathan’s desk, has already brought some military officers, soldiers and other security agents involved “in the chain of operations against the insurgents” under 24/7 surveillance.
Saturday Sun gathered that the security report which also raised concerns over a possible link between some foreign mercenaries serving as Boko Haram field commanders and foreigners that had been erroneously recruited into the nation’s security forces.
It was further learnt that over the years, hundreds of citizens of some African countries especially Chad, Niger, Mali and The Gambia among others have settled in Nigeria, claiming either Kano or Borno as their state of origin and have as a result been able to get jobs into security agencies “simply because they bear the same names as we have in the North while most of them have their tertiary education also in Nigeria.”
“Information available to us indicates that a number of Boko Haram fighters and frontline commanders come in as mercenaries from some of these neighbouring countries especially those that have trained and fought along side some rebels in Northern Mali before they were displaced there. That’s why we are indeed concerned that there could be a possible nexus between some of these fighters and their people that have found their way into our security forces in the past because a major challenge in our operations is the leakage of information and operational strategies which the terrorists have continued to use to ambush our men killing some of our fine and promising officers. One of such officers we lost in a recent ambush attack in Mubi Adamawa State is Captain O. Akintola who was due to be decorated as a Major this month”, a red neck security chief told Saturday Sun in Abuja.
President Jonathan had indeed raised the alarm over the infiltration of his government especially the Armed Forces in 2012 when indications began to emerge that insurgents were not only enjoying the sympathy of some elements in government but were getting strategic support to frustrate counter-insurgency efforts.
Jonathan spoke during an inter-denominational service to mark the 2012 Armed Forces Remembrance Day had disclosed that the situation had made it more difficult to combat Boko Haram.
According to him “This is a particular time when the country has major security challenges. There are explosions every day, people are dying and are being killed daily without any reason.
“It is a period we also call on the armed forces, including those that have retired to hang with their colleagues that are still in service and government to see how collectively we can protect our nation.
“I believe we will overcome our immediate challenges. The situation we have in our hands is even worse than the civil war that we fought. During the civil war, we knew and we could even predict where the enemy was coming from, you can even know the route they are coming from, you can even know what calibre of weapon they will use and so on.
“But the challenge we have today is more complicated. I remember when I held a meeting with elders from the Northeast and some parts of the Northwest where the Boko Haram phenomenon is more prevalent; somebody said that the situation is bad that even if one’s son is a member, one will not even know. That means that if the person will plant a bomb behind your house you won’t know.
“Some of them are in the executive arm of government, some of them are in the parliamentary/legislative arm of government while some of them are even in the judiciary. Some are also in the armed forces, the police and other security agencies. Some continue to dip their hands and eat with you and you won’t even know the person who will point a gun at you or plant a bomb behind your house.”
Though the Defence Headquarters has continued to dismiss or downplay insinuations that there are troubles within, it was gathered that much of the sophisticated surveillance equipment recently acquired by two security agencies have been devoted to tracking and monitoring many military officers and other security agents involved “in the processing of information, planning, deployment of troops and logistics for operations in the North East with a view to block leakages and fish out moles and fifth columnists in the system.”
The security source further revealed that some suspects had already been arrested as a result of the latest effort. Some of them are said to be going through further screening and investigations by their various formations.
While dispelling insinuations that some top military officers were being detained over alleged links with Boko Haram on Tuesday, Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade however explained that “Disciplinary processes being undertaken in any formation of the Nigerian Army are at best routine and definitely not at the level that has been so willfully exaggerated for clearly sinister motives.”
In an exclusive online interview with Saturday Sun on the latest development, General Olukolade assured that strict measures are being taken against fifth columnists in the armed forces adding that sufficient screening is also done at the point of recruitment to ensure that bad eggs are not given any opportunity.
His words: “all agencies participating in a joint operation come under one command. If anyone from any service or organization outside the military is involved in any misdemeanor, the inter-service channels will be utilized to demand appropriate justice as stipulated by the laws/regulations of his organization after proper investigations and reports.
“As for the military personnel, apart from the usual regimental procedures that work to prevent or sanction such tendencies, various provisions of the Armed Forces Act are available to ensure due justice in the event of any breach.
All investigations by the military police will seek to confirm enough ground for prosecution for appropriate trial process.
“With regards to the likelihood of moles coming in through recruitment exercise, this will not be as easy as imagined. There is thorough screening at all stages of the recruitment process. The process is quite capable of detecting any false identity.”
Notwithstanding the assurance from the DHQ, multiple security sources familiar with the process of recruitment into the nation’s security forces insist that only about half of the number of those recruited go through the normal process while the other half are taken through recommendations from high quarters and VIPs while subsequent background checks done by a few agencies are not thorough enough to discover anything aside those who forge educational qualifications.

19  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / WONDERS: C&S Prophets Kills Each Other Over General Overseer's Post on: 8-06-2014 06:05 AM

The General Overseer, Prophet Obas Kayode of Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church has narrowly escaped death following a bloody clash over the control of a wing of the church and bitter leadership tussle over alleged financial impropriety.

Church loyalists to the sons of the founding General Overseer of the church, Prophet Oni Jolugba on May 19, 2014 were allegedly said to have razed down the pastor's multi-million naira 50 room hotel,  pharmaceutical company in Isanlu, Kogi State, 10 vehicles belonging to guests, three cars in the pastor's residence and locking up his wife.
Trouble started last year when the disagreement occurred between the Pastor and the two biological children of the founding GO Jolugba; Tope and Michael allegedly over the plans to sell the headquarters of the church to another denomination which led to the intervention of the traditional ruler of the town and some leaders of the community who advised Jolugba’s successor to leave the church property for the founder’s children and find another place of worship.

As a result, Obas and some members of the church were said to have relocated to another building as their new worship centre. Tope and Michael were however alleged to have gone there on February 16 this year to set the house ablaze.

Findings reveal that the church was founded by late Prophet Oni Jolugba, an itinerant tailor who received the call of God in Ikare Akoko, Ondo State in the early 70s. With time, the church grew in leaps and bounds as Jolugba acclaimed to be a miracle working prophet became renowned with the calibre of worshippers and patronage such that the founder, a stark illiterate soon became an international guest in the UK and US where he has branches.

Due to the swift expansion, it was gathered,  the founder had to relocate the headquarters of the church to his country home, Isanlu, headquarters of Yagba East local government area of Kogi State for easy administration.

It was further learnt that Obas Kayode, an orphan from Mopa, a neigbouring town, was adopted as a foster son and brought up by Jolugba.

Obas now in his 40s was said to be so submissive to the founder, that he ( Jolugba) trained him through school and he graduated as a pharmacist from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in 1997.

It was also learnt that after his internship and youth service, Obas settled down in Isanlu and started to operate a pharmacy shop which later became the largest drug store in the entire local government area.

He was also said to have added hospitality business into his area of interest by building a-50-bedroom hotel in the town.

Few years to his death, Jolugba, the founder of the church was said to have declared in one of their national conventions that Obas was his next successor and even went ahead to anoint and consecrate him as such in the presence of trustee members and the council of elders of the church. He was said to have passed on in July 2011 after which Obas became the substantive GO.

The pastor, Kayode Obas speaking on the attack said: “Their target was to sell the church headquarter to another denomination, we are not quarreling with them over Baba’s personal property, but the headquarters was collectively built by us. We even left the building for them as advised by elders, but they came to where we hired and burnt it down again, I have lost over N750 million including cars, buildings and other property.

“Some people in the town are inciting them against me, because they say I am not a native of the town and have amassed so much wealth, so they are hiding under this crisis to ruin and even kill me. The children 13 to their dad, but I showed them all the docusaid all the property I laboured for belonged ments of my business registration, no where was the name of Jolugba seen as business partner or the owner of the business.

“They said because I used Jolu- Kayo as my business name, the company is jointly owned by me and their father whereas I used that acronym to honour their dad who is also my foster dad. The member representing Yagba East constituency, Henry Ojuola was one of them, he even came to our church to incite members against us and he was the one who went to bail those arrested over the crisis, he is also boasting that no body will be prosecuted over the case.

When contacted on the crisis, the deputy general leader of the church who is based in Omuo Ekiti, Suprintendent A. A Adeyemo said “ these boys don’t understand anything about Jah Zion Church, when we were contributing money to build the church, the children were no where to be found, they were even attending a different church with their mum.”
Also speaking on the issue, Special Apostle Oluyori who is in charge of the church in Akure, Ondo State said “we have talked to these children they are adamant, children don’t inherit their father’s church, I am a co- founder of the church but since Baba handed over the church to Obas Kayode, we must follow him.”

The leader of the church in Kabba, Apostle Peter Jimoh in his own reaction said, “these children want to destroy the good name of their father. We are not interested in their father’s personal property, but the church belongs to us, and Jolugba. Before he died, he handed over the leadership of the church to Obas Kayode, and wherever he is going, that’s where we will go.”

Meanwhile Hon. Henry Ojuola has however denied the allegations saying: How can I incite people to burn his property? I truly went to their church to preach peace to them and not to incite anybody against him. While reacting to bailing the suspects he said: "Yes I took their bail at the police station, because they are members of my constituency, even those recently arrested for the burning, I will go and give them N10, 000 for feeding. Until the law court pronounces them guilty, I can not do so, it is only natural that as their representative, any time anybody runs into trouble, they will call me, that is all”.

Efforts to get the reaction of Michael and Tope Jolugba as well as their mum proved abortive.

The memory of that day is not of good but of bitterness, anguish and emotional trauma. It would remain a day he wishes never occurred in view of the calamity that visited him.It was the day the devil chose some arsonists to bring to ruin all that he has labored for.

Jolukayo is a young enterprising  man until that day when some people instituted an emergency “Oro” ( a traditional festival) which arsonists took advantage of  to burn to ashes all that belonged  to him.

The arsonists  burnt down his three-storey hotel along with 10 vehicles belonging to his customers lodging there,  his business complex that housed his pharmaceutical office, his computer center with close to 100 computers  and building shops. Not done, the arsonists stormed  his personal building which he just completed and moved into and razed it.

It was divine grace that saved his family from being  lynched..

What could have led to this large scale destrruction?
Though those behind the mayhem  are yet to be made known,  the tragedy came to Jolukajo amid a family squabble. The police, however, said there was no evidence to link the family with the destruction.

FAMILY TROUBLE
The family, which  raised Jolukayo, had allegedly  been against him ever since his adopted father, Prophet Jolugba, died.

When  Joluba,  founder and General Overseer of Jah Zion Worldwide, was about to die some years ago, he was said to have anointed Jolukayo as his  successor. As if the late prophet had premonition of what was  to happen after his demise, Joluba was said to have used one Sunday sermon to intimate his church members with  his imminent  death and also raised Jolukayo’s hand up as the spiritual head after his demise.

Three years after the founder’s death, some of the children, however,  began to demand from Jolukayo to relinquish the church to them. To them, Kayode was sitting on their father’s inheritance. And as far as they were concerned, Kayode was an adopted child and should have no right to their father’s ‘properties’.

The tussle over church control was alleged to be  the beginning of Jolukayo travails in Isanluland.

In truth, Jolukayo never said he was a biological child of the late Prophet. He admitted he was adopted by the late prophet at the age of three when the founder came  to beg his biological  father to release him during a crusade.

Kayode said the General Overseer picked him out of the crowd during the crusade to pray for the congregation saying that he possessed some spiritual gifts. “My father  released me to him and  I  lived with the prophet until I started my own family.”
It was the interest the late overseer had in  him that made him to train Kayode to the university  where he  graduated as a pharmacist.
Kayode in returning the good deed of the Overseer named all  his businesses as Jolukayo: Jolu from the first four letters  of his adopted father, and Kayo from the first four letters of his name. The hotel, pharmaceutical office, laboratory, computer center, building shops and others were named so.

However the family trouble over the ownership of the church degenerated to a level that  some children  of the late prophet were said to have dragged  him to the police station asking  the police to persuade him to hands off  the church. Some of the children  even claimed that the hotel, and other properties also belonged to their late father.

Kayode was said to have shown the police that all the properties and businesses were registered in him name, it is only in name that the late prophet showed up. The police was said to have begged both warring factions to desist from using the church premises until the matter  was settled.

When the situation became unbearable, Kayode allegedly  announced to the church of his intention to leave the premises  for the prophet’s  children; many of the church elders and members were said to have followed him to his new church.

Kayode new church in a matter of time received more members; a situation that led the children  to ask him to drop Jay Zion as the name of his church. Kayode was said to have insisted on retaining the name on the account that the late prophet asked  him not to drop it.
It was  in the process of settling the issues that, weeks later, Jolukayo’s  properties were burnt by some yet  unknown arsonists.

JEALOUSY
The connection of the community was alleged to be  the involvement of the  ‘Oro’  which the arsonists  were said to have hid under to perpetuate the mayhem.
The day the arson  was carried out, the ‘Oro’ was said to have surfaced in the day time. The ‘Oro’ is not  organised  by one person  but by the community..It is a  traditional festival organised  on special  occasions.

The festival is not for celebration. It is only out when the community is preparing to instal a new king, and other times; especially when  there is a  calamity  believed to have been caused by witches or wizards.

Sunday Vanguard also gathered that the community also brings  out ‘Oro’ whenever they want somebody out of their land.
The ‘Oro’ festival was allegedly instituted in the community in the 80s   to drive out an influential farmer who allegedly  was involved in “Keda” (a situation where by dead persons are commanded to work in the farm as labourers).
But Jolukayo was not a farmer, he was a businessman who hadineen involved in buying and selling of medicine since his undergraduate days.. He was said to be planning to commence the production of table water before the arsonists  struck, and the equipment for the water company also  destroyed  by the mayhem.
One of the Isanlu residents said, “The good fortune combined with his youthful age of just 40 years old  angered some of the people who felt  he was too successful. I must confess to you that many people viewed him with disdain, wondering why it was only his businesses that continued to thrive in the area.  They are also angry because he is not a native of Isanlu. Kayode is an indigene of Mopa, a very close town to Isanlu though.”.
It was as a result of this that some of the community members were said to have hid under the pretense of the ‘Oro’ festival to inflict  this pain on him. While he was not in town on the said day, his wife and children were only lucky to escape the attack when the arsonists stormed his house, burning the house, his three cars after extending their action to his hotel, his business building and office vehicles.
Kayode said what he lost was close to N1 billion.

LEGISLATOR’S CONNECTION
The lawmaker representing Yagba east at the state House of Assembly, Hon. Henry Ojuola, was mentioned as a supporter of the unjust  cause  from the community.
But Ojuola  denied being involved with the arsonists.

Ojuola said he  has  personal and intimate relationship with the embattled Kayode  and would never have supported the unjust cause.
“Last year when my daughter was getting married . I rented the hotel because it was the best in the land. Kayode gave me a discount. This is to show you that we are close. In few months time, one of my children will be getting married, in which hotel am I going to host my guests?”, Ojuola stressed.

‘I have taken it in good faith’

Kayode however said though his loss  is painful, he is trying to pick the pieces of his life back. “The late prophet has hinted me that something like this may occur. I didn’t know it will come to this high level. I have taken it in good faith as one of those things that happen to mankind,” he said.
He, nevertheless, has this to say: “I will never go back to that land again, and I doubt it if any good thing will visit that community again. I have relocated and will restart my business no matter how small. I know I will bounce back.”
