1  Forum / The Buzz Central / Tuface Sues Soft-Sell Magazine, ICON Weekly, For N100million on: 24-06-2014 12:08 PM

Popular Naija musician Tuface is suing ICON Weekly magazine for libel over the story they publish alleging that he impregnated a female banker in Lagos, just few months after his elaborate marriage in Dubai.

Sources at the Ikeja High Court just said the Media/Entertainment Law Firm of L&A – Legal Consultants has filed libel proceedings on behalf of Innocent “Tuface” Idibia against the soft sell magazine, Icon weekly, praying the Court to award their client the sum of N100,000.00 (One Hundred Million Naira ) being damages for the libelous publication posted on the magazine’s online and print platforms.
You will recall that sometime in March 2014, a story went viral; alleging that Tuface committed adultery and impregnated yet another woman, this time his account officer in one of the new generation banks and that infact, the lady had every intention to keep the baby...

Apparently, the story turned out to be completely false and only concocted by Icon weekly to drive traffic to themselves/boost sales. (A cheap publicity stunt which may end up costing the magazine dearly) We tried to contact L&A – Legal Consultants and 960 Media to shed more light on the matter but they declined commenting.

However a source close to both organizations stated that “it is unfair for anyone to tarnish someone else’s image in order to make profit” the source said further that “ a lot of these soft sell magazines and blogs must learn to verify stories before publishing as they may be very damaging to the innocent victim”.

The false story was said to have made Tuface loose a very lucrative deal and caused ripples between him and his wife. As at Friday we understand that ICON weekly had approached Tuface’s team for discussions on a possible out of court settlement.

2  Forum / Politics / LIAR! TB Joshua Predicted Fayose's Victory In Ekiti on: 24-06-2014 12:05 PM
According to a Lagos-based journalist with Nigerian evening newspaper PM News, Prophet T.B. Joshua had predicted the outcome of the Ekiti controversial election, stating that PDP’s Ayo Fayose would win.

The journalist, Simon Ateba, writing on his blog, sensationally stated that TB Joshua, who is well known for his prophecies, had revealed this in a personal discussion.
“Last Sunday, at our editorial meeting in Lagos, western Nigeria, I informed the editors and correspondents in attendance: Maybe APC should forget about the Ekiti election because Prophet T.B. Joshua has predicted that the party will lose,” Ateba stated.
His comments sparked mirth within the meeting. “We all laughed over it and one editor even predicted that T.B. Joshua would be finally disgraced in an APC-controlled state. The man will be demystified, he said.”

According to Ateba, he “met the man in the Synagogue a few days earlier” and “heard from him the challenge ahead in Ekiti”. Ateba, who is known in Nigerian journalism for the physical abuse he sustained when trying to write a story on Christ Embassy, went further to say TB Joshua had revealed to him details of the Lagos governorship election.

“T.B. Joshua was right. But more importantly, he said something deep and prophetic about the Lagos election. When it comes to pass, many might be left flabbergasted. I won’t. I know it seems crazy. But facts are facts. Interpretation is free.”

Kudos to Nigerian Policemen in Kano State for the job well. They have arrested the suspect in connection with Monday afternoon’s bomb that ripped through the Kano State School of Hygiene, BUK Road, which killed at least eight innocent Nigerians and injured about 20 others within the area.

According to Kano State Commissioner of Police, Aderenle Shinaba, who spoke with journalists briefly after visiting the scene of the crime, investigations will begin immediately on the suspect’s motive for the act.#
