A young man has died in Somolu area of Lagos state due to cultism.

The 18-year-old boy identified as Sunday was killed on Onajimi Street in Somolu on Friday after a brutal attack on him by the members of the dreaded Eiye Confraternity cult group.

The young man was slashed with a broken bottle and strangled to death by a 7-man Eiye gang members

Those who killed Sunday were said to be members of the Eiye Confraternity group..

A source, who was at the scene of the incident, said, “It happened on Friday afternoon. Sunday had been away from the area for sometime because he feared he would be killed by the men. His mother had also told him to stay away.

“But on Friday, he suddenly showed up on a visit to his parents. He was first at Oyeyemi Street, where he drank with some of his friends.

“In the afternoon, he went to his mum’s shop at Onajimi, where she was selling noodles.

“He was eating noodles when a member of the Eiye gang spotted him, and came around with some other members.

“While the others were in hiding, he came to take a second look at him to be sure he was their target. He then signaled to the rest to come out of their hiding.”

Another source said, “The men, numbering seven, grabbed the teenager and shot him twice in the chest, hacked him with cutlasses, broke a bottle and slashed him from the armpit down to his stomach. When they saw he was still breathing, they strangled him.”

Later on Friday, some friends of the victim suspected to be members of Aiye confraternity cult took his corpse to the front of the house of a landlord, whose son was suspected to be a member of the Eiye Confraternity.

They dropped his corpse there and began vandalising the property.

The Aiye cultists on a revenge mission warned the tenants to vacate the property because they would return to burn it down.

The Super Falconets of Nigeria have lost the Under 20 Women’s World Cup to Germany. An extra-time winner by Lena Petermann was enough to deny them the FIFA U20 Women World Cup trophy which took place in Montreal’s Olympic Stadium in Canada as they were beaten 1-0.

This is the second time in three editions that the Falconets have lost out on the trophy. Four years ago, they also lost 2-0 in a finals against the Germans.Incidentally, it was Germany that also won the Senior men’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil just recently.

The Registrar of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Professor Dibu Ojerinde has stated that students and candidates who are not computer literate will not be allowed to write any examination coordinated by the board from 2015.

Ojerinde made this disclosure while speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Professor Odusola Ojerinde memorial golf tournament in Otukpo, Benue State. The registrar noted that part of efforts to improve education in Nigeria was the introduction of Computer Based Test (CBT) for all the board’s examinations.

The JAMB boss stated that beginning from 2015, any student or candidate who was not computer (ICT) literate would have no business with examinations conducted by JAMB.

Ojerinde declared: “We are not going to compromise on that.”

Confirming JAMB’s decision, the Chief Press Secretary to the Senate President, Mr. Paul Mumeh, said in order to ensure the implementation of the new plan that JAMB had embarked on the establishment of Computer Based Centres across the country preparatory for all its examinations is required.

Malam Yusuf Usman is a Nigerian citizen and a hotel worker in the capital city of Jigawa State, Dutse. He is 37 years of age and earns about N20,000 per month. But this man wowed hundreds of thousands of his compatriots by returning an iPad and N17m he had encountered.

A couple of weeks ago Usman came across belongings forgotten by one of the guests. An iPad, foreign currency and Naira notes totalling about N17m were discovered. The man explained his move by the fact that he was brought up not to covet other people’s property.

“I have been with Three-Star Hotel, Dutse, Jigawa State, for the past 15 years and I am currently their Reception Manager. What actually happened was that on that fateful day that I found the money, I was on my way from reception to see one of the housekeepers. I passed through the hotel garden where some of our guests usually relax.

“As I was going, I saw an iPad lying close to one of the flowers in the garden and there was nobody there. So I went and took the iPad so that I could take it to the reception and wait for the owner who may come for it later. When I looked at it closely, I saw some foreign currency and some wad of naira notes in the iPad jacket. I quickly took it to the management and I was asked to keep the money and the iPad in my safe at the reception. I did not count the money myself,” the man recounted.
Usman received a call three days later. A staff of Jigawa College of Health Technology, Jahun, told the receptionist that one of the former guests was looking for his iPad containing some money. However, the person could not remember whether it was in the hotel he had lost his belongings or not.

The reception manager immediately confirmed that it was in the hotel and he had found it.

Usman further said that the people from Jahun were extremely happy upon hearing that and when they came to pick up the money.

“They thanked me and the management of the hotel. The Jigawa College of Health Technology wrote a commendation letter to me. It was there they stated that the money was over $100,000 because the jacket also had local currency in it,” the man noted.

Governor Sule Lamido was informed about the situation and praised the noble deed of the hotel worker. The management of the hotel issued a commendation letter to Usman.

“As you can see I am not financially comfortable but that is not the point. What is not yours is not yours. There are three reasons why I will never take somebody’s property.

“One, stealing is against the teaching of Islam and I was strictly brought up according to Islamic teaching.

“Secondly, my father has always warned me never to tamper with what is not mine because it can bring destruction in my life and thirdly, it is the tradition of our hotel not to hide whatever item we found,” the reception manager explained.

He noted that there is a special store at the hotel for forgotten items, with some of the belongings being there for 10 years.

“I don’t see what I did as a big deal. I am just doing my duty.

“I don’t believe that running away with somebody’s money will make me wealthy. Wealth belongs to Allah and if Allah destined me to be wealthy it will come to pass.

“My wife is so proud of me that her respect for me has doubled,” the man of honour said.

Usman further advised the youths to remain honest and hard-working. He added that everything in life is not about money and that “integrity, good name and honesty are qualities that will bring their own reward at the right time.”

The first victim of Ebola Virus disease in Britain has arrived London for an aggressive treatment.

British Nurse William Pooley who contracted the killer virus in Sierra Leone landed at the Royal Free Hospital on Sunday with full police escort to an isolation ward.

29-year-old Pooley has been quarantined at an Isolation ward in London.

The volunteer nurse contracted the virus at an Ebola treatment center in Kenema where he had been working since mid-July.

He is the only British citizen to have ever contracted the deadly virus outside the laboratory.

The other case of infection in Britain was reported in 1976 when a scientist, Geoffrey Platt pricked himself with a needle contaminated with the virus in a laboratory.

24 year old Cameroonian striker Albert Ebossé Bodjongo (pictured above) was killed yesterday Aug. 23rd, after being struck in the head by an object thrown from the stands by an angry fan after his team lost 2-1 in a home defeat during an Algerian league game.

Albert and his team mates were leaving the field at the end of a match between his club JS Kabylie and USM Alger in Tizi Ouzou, when an angry fan threw what is believed to be a rock.

Albert, who had scored the sole JSK goal, died a few hours later in the hospital. He was 24. Continue.

'The Ministry of Interior and Local Government, speaking through minister Tayeb Belaiz, has given an instruction to open an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Albert Ebosse." The statement read
Kabylie captain Ali Rial told reporters that Albert died in his arms as he accompanied him to the hospital in the ambulance.  
"I'm depressed, it's real drama and I do not know if I'll get over it. He died in my arms, I still cannot believe we have lost him forever. He was a good man, God rest his soul."

Chief Dr Olulana Akinnifesi was a PhD Degree and Yale University, Connecticut, U.S.A masters degree holder in Economics. He was a former Director at the Central Bank of Nigeria and was Head Statistics and Econometrics. He received many awards, which included fifteen years of meritorious service certificate awarded by CBN in December 1992. While he was at Central Bank he became a Diplomat and was appointed Chief Executive/ Executive secretary, West African Clearing House, Freetown Sierra Leone, an International Organisation. There he represented Nigeria and the interest of 15 other West African Countries and 10 Central Banks from 1991-1993.

Dr Akinnnifesi was also part time Lecturer at the University of Lagos where he taught Statistics, Econometrics and Monetary Economics to Msc/PhD students of the department of Economics. He set up Emmason Consulting LTD and Emmason Investment LTD, a consulting and business management company where he put to use his acquired experiences over the years in International Banking Monetary Cooperation, Trade and Financial Transactions, top level Negotiation Missions to International Organisation such as UNCTAD, UNID, FEC and ECOWAS.

Dr Akinnifeis was a Fellow of Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria, Institute of Financial Management and Nigeria Statistical Association. He was the National Secretary of the Nigerian Statistical Association from 1981-1985 and later President from 1989-1991. He was also the Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Society (Lagos Chapter) from 1987-1989. He was Vice-President International Association of Official Statistics from 1991-1993. A staff of the World Health Organization has been infected with the Ebola virus.
The patient, a man from Senegal, is the first worker of the international body to catch the disease.
The WHO spokesperson has said that it is not yet clear how the man contracted the disease.
Ebola has killed over 1000 people in West Africa this year in an outbreak that the body has described as the worst ever.

The key executioner of an innocent American Journalist, James Foley in Syria few days ago has been identified as a British rapper.

According to British and American intelligence services, 23-year-old Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary (pictured above) beheaded his fellow human being last week several months after he left the UK to join the ISIS (Islamic State) terrorists in Syria.

Government sources disclosed that the masked man with British accent is known as Jihadi John among the ISIS terrorists.

In the video, released by IS last week, a man with a British accent can be seen brandishing a knife while standing next to a kneeling Foley before beheading him. The gruesome clip ended with footage of Foley’s decapitated body lying on the ground.

Bary, whose songs have featured on BBC radio in the past, last year left his family’s house in Maida Vale west London. He lived with his mother and five siblings in what was described as a “£1 million home.”

UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond was quoted by the Sunday Times as saying that Islamic State is “turning a swath of Iraq and Syria into a terrorist state as a base for launching attacks on the West.”

Speaking of Foley’s executioner, Hammond said that “it is horrifying to think that the perpetrator of this heinous act could have been brought up in Britain.”

Foley’s death “is a reminder to us all that Islamic extremism in Iraq and Syria is not only causing huge suffering in those countries but is also a barbaric ideology threatening us at home,” he said.

His father, an Egyptian citizen Adel Abdul Bary was believed to be a close confidant of Osama Bin Laden. He was extradited from the UK to the US in 2012 for his alleged involvement in the 1998 bombings of two US embassies in east Africa.

Earlier this year Bary the son tweeted a picture of himself from Syria holding a severed head, with the message “Chillin’ with my homie or what’s left of him.” The pictures was apparently taken in Raqqa, a key position seized by the Islamic State as carved out large swaths of Iraq and Syria for its self-declared Islamic caliphate.

Bary’s rap lyrics, which in the past focused on drug abuse and violence, seemed to become increasingly hostile to authorities after the extradition of his father.

In his most recent video clip, posted to YouTube in March this year, he talked of his anger at his father’s 1998 arrest.

According to various news reports, Chris Brown may have been the target of a shooting at a pre-VMAs party at 10AK night club in Los Angels.

Chris Brown was hosting the party, and other celebrities in attendance with him in the VIP area were label boss Suge Knight, Justin Bieber, Tyson Beckford, and Black Eyed Peas member Apple de Ap. Witnesses at the scene and those who were inside the party said they heard several gun shots.

Chris Brown was not injured but Death Row Records founder, Suge Knight, was shot more than once. He was taken to Cedars Sinai hospital where he’s being treated. Two others were injured, one of them said to be in critical condition.

Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo have confirmed the first cases of Ebola virus in the north-western region of the country. Confirming the cases, the country’s health Minister, Felix Kabange Numbi, said 8 people have tested positive to the deadly virus.

“The results are positive. The Ebola virus is confirmed in DRC,” Mr Numbi told AFP

Meanwhile the British health worker who tested positive to the deadly virus in Sierra Leone has arrived back in the UK on board an RAF jet. (pictured above). The unnamed man landed at London’s RAF Northolt in a specially-equipped C-17 aircraft and was transported to an isolation unit at the Royal Free Hospital in north London.

The man is ‘not currently seriously unwell’, a Department of Health spokesman said.

What was your first sex experience?

My first experience was full of fear, uncertainty, pain and alas! I loved it at the end.

What do you have to say about pre-marital sex among our youths?

It is saddening that pre-marital sex has taken over our time. In the past, most of our men would disassociate themselves with girls who have been deflowered outside wedlock. Then a woman’s virginity was her pride but time has changed and human beings have changed. I am not happy about it. Maybe we should blame civilisation or modernisation for this. I pray for God’s intervention in this era.

Did you marry as a virgin?

Yes, I did and I can boldly say that.

Which parts of your body do you think are your selling points?

… Well, I will say my hips and eyeballs. God has blessed me with what African men really like. Even the modern day African man who pretends to like a skinny woman, after getting down with her, he would marry a woman who has ample flesh in the right proportions.

How have you been coping, as a single mother with two kids?

It’s one question I don’t like going deep into for personal reasons. I will only say God has been faithful. I’m fine and cool as you can see. I am a happy woman in all ramifications and the envy of other ladies.

Any plan of getting married?

I’m yet to get one and would not like to say much about that.

What lessons did you learn from your previous marriage?

My broken marriage was a place of learning to me. It taught me to be a better person and has opened a hidden part of me. Then I was younger but I have learnt that what will be will be, no matter what.

Would you say he was at fault?

Fault, who am I to apportion blames or Judge? God knows best. I thank God we are both doing well in our respective homes.

Any plans of marrying again?

Presently, I’ll like to remain mute on my marital status but the glaring truth is that I’m not single.

What do you mean by saying you are not single?

It simply means I have a man in my life. But what I am not ready to disclose are details about him. I am not single because I am with a man. Please don’t ask me any further question on this. I am a very happy woman in love with a man in my life.

At this stage in your life, would you consider being a second wife?

I won’t break someone else’s home because I don’t want mine to be broken as well. But then man proposes and God disposes. No one can decide for God. We can only pray fervently for our wishes. But one thing I don’t joke with is my happiness.
