1  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Shocking!!! 5-Year-Old, Avalynn Beaten By Student In Mississippi School on: 31-08-2014 08:13 AM

The innocent girl pictured above identified as Avalynn survived serious injuries in an attack on the playground of an Elementary school in Mississippi.

Though the school said she was not attacked, friends and relatives of Avalynn’s mother are seeking for justice for her.

Check out a post on her Facebook page tagged Justice For Avalynn:

“On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, Lacey Harris was called go come pick up her daughter at Arlington Elementary School in Pascagoula, Mississippi, because AvaLynn had been injured in an accident. The sight Lacey found when she got to Ava’s school was a parents’ nightmare: her face swollen, cut, and bruised beyond recognition.”

Lacey rushed Ava to the family pediatrician, who burst into tears upon seeing the Ava’s battered visage. Fortunately, the doctor determined that it is unlikely that Ava would have any permanent physical damage. Mental and emotional damage is another story altogether.

AvaLynn informed Lacey that she was assaulted by another student: that she was kicked repeatedly in the face until she fell off of the slide on the school’s playground. The school informed Lacey were no teachers present when the incident occurred, and because of that, no one could prove whether or not another student had harmed Ava.

After days of Lacey, friends, and family members reaching out to local news stations and to Facebook and other social media bodies, the school finally released a statement: AvaLynn was injured as the result of an accident, one that involved no other children. Although a police report was filed, Pascagoula Police Department states that they are not investigating the situation.

The school basically claims that Ava injured herself, as all the photos depicting her injuries will debunk. The local PD claims that there has been no criminal act, which the injury photos also disprove.

So now we’ve taken this to Facebook, asking everyone out there to please share this page, to please share AvaLynn’s story. We need this to reach as many people as possible so that this little girl will not go without justice. Please share this with your friends, your relatives, and all your local news outlets. Please help us get the answers and the justice that our little angel deserves.

Read the official statement from the school on Avalynn’s case below:

“A student was injured while playing on the playground at Arlington Elementary School Tuesday afternoon. School officials responded to the situation. The parent was contacted and the student received medical treatment. No other children were involved in the incident. The Pascagoula School District remains committed to the safety of all its students.”

I want to believe that the said school has surveillance camera on their school premises.

Nobody can take Avalynn’s case as a mere injury, she must have been attacked by someone somewhere on that playground.

This is too much Geeeezzz..What an evil world we live in!

Speaking with reporters, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Ali said that the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the command was able to rescue the baby after a tip-off by a commercial tricycle rider who suspected the shady behaviour of the suspects when they boarded a tricycle on July 30, 2014.

The tricycle rider was said to have informed the police that three armed men came in with a tricycle, shot into the air and snatched a two week old baby boy.

CP Ali said that they handed over the baby boy to three persons, one man and two women who came from Nasarawa State.

He said they picked tricycle from Orija and from there took the Young Shall Grow bus going to Lagos State. The suspects were in the bus when they were arrested by the Anti-Human Trafficking Section and the baby was rescued.

Ali pledged to rid the state of child trafficking.

He said the three suspects have been arrested in connection with the matter and appealed to religious and community leaders to always give police useful information if any woman or family member without prior notice of pregnancy is seen with a new baby.

The family of Mr. and Mrs. Obi thanked CP Ali and the Anti –Human Trafficking Unit for assisting them to recover their stolen baby from the criminals.

5  Forum / The Buzz Central / Omoni Oboli Reveals Marriage Success Secret, Says Parents Have Separated on: 31-08-2014 07:17 AM

See excerpts from a recent interview with Nollywood movie producer and actress Omoni Oboli.

Interviewer: You have been long in the business of marriage, what are the things that you do to spice it up.

Omoni: It’s beautiful when you are married to your friend. We are friends and there is the God factor in our marriage. Both of us are strong believers. We are Christians and we always make sure that first of all, we don’t do things that would hurt each other. It doesn’t mean that we don’t disagree or we don’t have issues; no marriage is perfect. So we do have issues but we resolve these issues. We have made up our minds that we are not going to get a divorce. So when divorce is not an option you must resolve whatever issues you have. It is when divorce is an option that you hear things like irreconcilable differences. No difference is irreconcilable when divorce is not an option. You must resolve whatever issues you have because you know that you are stuck with this person for life so you might just as well be happy; I don’t want to spend the next 50 years of my life being miserable.

Interviewer: What was the attraction in the first place?

Omoni: For me personally I think I fell in love with the way he loved me. He loved me unconditionally. I know it is difficult for you to think that a person loves another unconditionally but he actually did. There were certain things that I would do, even before we got married and I would think that nobody would take them but then, he would just be like, ‘it’s okay as long as it’s you’ and I would be like wow! How could anyone love somebody this way? Are you serious? That was it for me.

Interviewer: What was the most important thing you considered before saying yes?

Omoni: There were so many things. First of all, are you guys on the same phase spiritually? It’s important. He should be at least close to you or somewhere around your neighbourhood spiritually and then, what are his future plans? Are they in line with your future plans? This is important because that can also hurt the relationship if in the future he wants to do this and it is absolutely not in your plans at all; it could become an issue.

Interviewer: How have you managed to keep trim?

Omoni: Diet and fitness. I am not a fat person but after my last child I was like three or four sizes bigger than this so I started exercising and eating right.

Interviewer: Can you share some of those diet tips with us?

Omoni:Just eat right; do a lot of fruits and veggies. Eat fewer carbohydrates and when you eat carbohydrate, eat the complex ones because those ones are not as fattening as the regular ones. Eat lots of fibre rich food because it’s good for your metabolism and then exercise. It’s simply science. If you have less food and more exercise, it equals weight loss unless you have an underlying medical condition; so more activity and less food equals weight loss.

Interviewer: Tell us a bit about growing up?

Omoni: Growing up was interesting. I grew up with my mum and my sister. I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon. My mum was at that time working at Delta Steel Company. She was a teacher so it’s not as if she had money but then we had access to some things. We had the best schools and the best hospitals. We were in those guest houses with swimming pools. Even though we didn’t have money at all I was exposed to certain things. My school had a great library so I developed reading habits. I didn’t travel out of the country until I was an adult. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon but I had a lot of privileges because of where my mum worked.

Interviewer: How about daddy?

Omoni: My parents were separated. My dad only came on visits.

Interviewer: Coming from such a background, one wouldn’t expect you to have this resolve to stay married?

Omoni: Because of my parent’s separation I said to myself when I was really young that I would guard my marriage jealously. I don’t want my kids to grow up in a broken home. People used to say that kids from broken homes don’t make good marriages and I didn’t want to be a part of the statistics.

Interviewer: Were you the only child?

Omoni: We are two, I have a sister. But my dad has other kids.

Interviewer: And you know them?

Omoni: We have a great relationship; we don’t have any issues. We shot part of the movie in Asaba where my dad lives. My dad was the one that fed us throughout the time there. I mean the entire cast, crew and everybody on the project. We were cooking from my dad’s house every single day. He gave us a bus, cars and transportation; dad was incredible!
