Some of the popular faces who attended the event included former Lagos State First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and Nigeria Federal House of Representatives member Abike Dabiri. Others included entertainment entrepreneur Guy Murray-Bruce, Cecil Hammond and TV host Adaure Achumba.
The solemn event was officiated by Holy Cross Cathedral and lasted a little over two hours. Emotions ripped through close friends and family members who fought hard to hold back tears, especially when several memorable photos of the Doctor’s pastimes were splashed across the two main screens in the hall.
‘We’ve seen all the sentiments expressed, we’ve seen the touching tributes from all across the world, one thing we can say is that her character remained intact’, the officiating minister said while delivering his sermon.
Several close friends and family members were also given the chance to give touching tributes;
Dr Bode Kadiri (who had known Adadevoh as far back as Primary school) said ‘She always had a lion’s heart – Fearless, loving and courageous’.
Another close Doctor Friend noted; ‘She was like a prism, different sides to different people. We can be sad but why should we be angry that someone is in heaven?’
Dr Yeki Johnson charged guests explaining that Nigerians had a collective effort to fight for it’s country. ‘If Ameyo hadn’t risked her life to stop Sawyer and saved millions, imagine what would have happened by now?’, he asked.
Dr Adadevoh’s only son Bankole Cardoso in a vote of thanks noted ‘My mum paid the ultimate price to contain the spread of Ebola Virus Disease in Nigeria and as the accolades grow louder; my heart swells with equal measure of great pride and great pain’.
Adadevoh will be buried on Friday September 12 at a private family funeral.

5  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Heartbreaking: Bride Dances With Terminally Ill Father On His Dying Bed on: 12-09-2014 09:49 AM

A determined bride got married next to her father's hospital bed and even had a final dance with him.
A bride shared a very memorable and heartbreaking final dance with her father as he laid on his dying bed in hospital.
Dr. Lisa Pantoja (nee Wilson), was so determined to spend her wedding day with her father, who had a rare form of cancer, she conducted her wedding beside his hospital bed.
The beautiful bride first kissed her husband, Rob, before removing Dave Wilson's oxygen mask to kiss her dad.
It was then that she took the hands of her resolute father and began one of the most emotional wedding day dances you will ever experience.
She said: "I asked him, 'I said daddy I want to do my father-daughter dance with you.' He said, 'I can't dance and I said you don't have to. I want to dance with your hands."
Smiling father Dave was delighted to have given away his daughter on her big day and told his son-in-law what a lucky man he was.
"Rob, you're the lucky one. You won the lottery, you got my baby girl," he said.
In his final days, the proud father wrote on his Facebook page: "The best gift, a daughter could give. Congratulations Dr. Lisa Pantoja."
Sadly, Dave passed away a week after the video was posted.

7  Forum / Sports / I can’t do without Mikel — Keshi on: 12-09-2014 05:02 AM

Nigeria national team coach Stephen Keshi says he still believes that John Obi Mikel is a vital cog in the Super Eagles side, despite the midfielder’s lack of game time at his club, Chelsea. Mikel has not been overly influential during Nigeria’s first two 2015 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying games, which have seen the Super Eagles picking up just a single point from their opening two matches against Congo (2-3) and South Africa (0-0). Against Bafana Bafana, Mikel was outplayed by Man of the Match Andile Jali, the 24-year-old Belgium-based midfielder who South Africa will build their future around. It was Jali’s speed, tenacity and skill on the ball that won him most of the one on one battles against the Super Eagles midfielders. Mikel appears to having fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, having only had 23 minutes of action so far this season for the big-spending London club, but Keshi remains adamant that the 27-year-old is an important part of the national team. “Just because he is not playing in his team (Chelsea), that does not mean I cannot use him in my team, that’s the coaches’ choice,” Keshi said after Wednesday night’s 0-0 draw with Bafana Bafana in Cape Town. “But in my team, if I think that he is good shape, with the wealth of experience he has, all his years in the Champions League, I think he’s very important for us in the team, and we just have to make the best of the situation.”
