Nigerian Government has defended the controversial $9.3million seized from a private jet by South African immigration on September 5th. In a diplomatic discussion it opened with the South African government yesterday September 16th, FG said they are aware of the deal (money was meant to procure arms) and have presented documents on the transaction process to the South African govt as proof that the entire operation involving the seized aircraft belonging to CAN president, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, was genuine.

A source who spoke with Vanguard confirmed the on-going discussion between the two governments and said the seized aircraft has been released by the South African government. The source added that the money was seized following failure by Nigerian delegates to declare the money at South African airport

“Nigeria and South Africa are getting closer to diplomatic resolution of the row over the $9.3m transaction. The two nations have opened discussions. The Federal Government has submitted relevant data and documents on the transaction to South Africa and insisted that the transaction was legitimate. It also clarified that the funds were neither laundered nor smuggled for any covert manoeuvres. No launderer will be audacious to fly into a country in a chartered jet with such huge cash. The technical details on security matters, which necessitated the deal had been availed South Africa for screening. Based on initial scrutiny of the documents, the Challenger Jet has been released pending conclusion of a full-scale investigation by South Africa. There was procedural error at the airport, the team did not declare the $9.3million contrary to the aviation and Customs laws of South Africa. So, there was an oversight on the part of the delegation that went to complete the transaction. Nigeria is trying to complete the formality and we are confident that the cash will be released for the purpose it was meant for. Movement of cash for strategic purchase of security equipment by intelligence services is not new; it is a global trend. The FBI, KGB, MOSSAD and others do it.” the source said

27-year-old Victoria and her partner specialised in robbing unsuspecting passengers who board commercial cab along Badagry-Mile 2 route.She narrated her story to Vanguard
 “I was arrested last Wednesday at Dakar Hotel in Seme where I used to work as a prostitute.I am from Edo State. I came to Lagos last February to look for greener pastures when my husband was constantly beating me. We were married for eight years.I abandoned my husband and three children and came to Lagos with the intention of living under the bridge until I found a place to lay my head. Fortunately for me, I didn’t have to sleep under the bridge as I met a lady in a commercial bus I boarded who had compassion on me when she saw me crying in the bus.She took me to the hotel where she was working as a prostitute and introduced me into the league of prostitutes.
“Everything was going on well until Okanlawon patronised me in the hotel. The first time we spent the night together. After that night I didn’t see him again untill three weeks later.Weeks later, someone stole my N100,000 from my room in the hotel while I was asleep. While I was still lamenting the loss, the collector of our Esusu contribution disappeared with my N150,000.
“As I was still grieving over the loss, Okanlawon came to the hotel to see me. He told me to accompany him to a night club. Initially I declined but after much persuasion I followed him.
“Instead of going to the club, he took me to his place where we spent the night together. In the morning, he asked me to enter the front seat of his vehicle and he started picking passengers and I asked him why he was carrying passengers but he didn’t respond.
“It was when he and his gang members attacked the passengers that I knew what he was into. I told him I didn’t want to take part in their operations. But he threatened to deal with me, saying nobody would know my whereabouts if I didn’t co-operate with the gang.That was why I had a rethink and continued to participate in robbery operations. The first time I participated, I wasn’t given anything while at two other times I was given N15,000 and N10,000 respectively.”
Trouble started for the gang after a victim whom they robbed reported the incident at the Ojo Police Division which began investigating the activities of the gang.Ironically, the female police officer investigating the case at the division was also robbed by the gang when she boarded their vehicle while in mufti.
She was able to get details of the vehicle during the attack. The cab was later traced to Iyana-Iba the next day when unsuspecting passengers were already boarding it.
Ahmed was then arrested while the other members escaped. The case was later transferred to SARS for further investigation which eventually led to the arrest of Victoria.

Boko Haram has installed emirs in Gwoza and Dambua, Borno State, the two towns that fell to the Islamist sect two weeks ago, Senator Ali Dume told his colleagues as Senate resumed from its two-month recess yesterday.This is even as the Upper Chamber urged President Goodluck Jonathan to declare total war on the insurgents, advising him to mobilise all resources and efforts to that effect.

Senator Ndume, who represents southern Borno, told lawmakers that Boko Haram has literally sacked two emirs and installed their own on Monday.His words:
 “I represent southern Borno and Gwoza. The challenges we are facing are more serious than what we have faced before. We, the people of southern Borno, particularly Gwoza, parts of Adamawa and Yobe know that it’s presently occupied!
“I read here on the Senate Order Paper about a threat. It’s no longer a threat; somebody is occupying that place and he’s declared it a caliphate!Yesterday, a new emir was installed by Boko Haram in Dambua. The original emir is taking refuge in Abuja. According to new reports,the doctor who performed a biopsy on Joan Rivers’ vocal cords stopped to take a selfie in the procedure room while she was under anesthesia and just moments before she went into cardiac arrest last month.

A member of staff at Manhattan's Yorkville Endoscopy clinic told investigators about the physician's questionable behavior.

Rivers, 81, was at the clinic for a scheduled endoscopy by another doctor, gastroenterologist Dr. Lawrence Cohen. That procedure, intended to help diagnose her hoarse voice and sore throat, involved the insertion of a camera down her throat.After Cohen, the clinic's medical director, finished his work, a biopsy was done on Rivers without her prior consent, according to the source.


An ear, nose and throat specialist not certified by the clinic as required by law performed a biopsy on her vocal cords. The doctor is described by the source as Rivers' personal ear-nose-throat physician.

Investigators believe that Rivers' vocal chords began to swell during the allegedly unauthorized biopsy, cutting off the flow of oxygen to her lungs, which led to cardiac arrest on the morning of August 29,

According to reports, 7 men believed to be Boko Haram members have been arrested in Borno state.
The suspects were apprehended on Monday, September 15, 2014 after unleashing terror in the Shaffa town environs of the Hawul Local Government Area of the state, Nigerian Eye reports.
The men were reportedly arrested due to a tip-off and a resident, Mallam Zakariya Shizhawu, is said to have confirmed the incident saying:
 “Thank God Seven boko haram suspected operatives who have been terrorizing our community were arrested yesterday (Monday) by security agents following a tip off.”
Boko Haram has unleashed terror in Borno and is reported to have taken over some communities in the state.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results of the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno are now available, according to Nigerian Education Minister, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau.
This was reportedly disclosed by the minister during a meeting with the House of Representatives Committee on Education yesterday, September 15, 2014.
According to reports, Shekarau said:
 “By 1pm today (Monday), the president has scheduled a meeting, which I am attending, specifically to address some of the issues of girls’ education in that troubled zone (Nigeria’s North East).
“In fact, this morning, I got a communication from West African Examinations Council. The result of the Chibok Secondary School is out,”
“We (the ministry) have to look at it (the results) vis-a-vis the security situation and implication, before the formal release. It is right now in my possession, because when the abduction took place, some remained, completed their exams. Some were taking exam and they were abducted. So, the result is haphazard. So we are addressing that this afternoon.
Over 200 girls were kidnapped from the Chibok school in April 2014 and most of them are still missing.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 2 men on suspicions of fraud.
Mr. Victor Uadiale and Captain Nnaji Everest are said to have duped a foreign investor from the Middle East and both of them have been accused of perpetrating a scam to the tune of $7.9 million (1,289,280,206.28).
The EFCC, in a statement signed by its Head of Media & Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren said:
Two suspected fraudsters who allegedly defrauded a foreign investor of the sum of $7.9 million have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The fraudsters: Mr. Victor Uadiale and Captain Nnaji Everest, were arrested separately in connection to the scam. Uadiale, the principal suspect, is the arrow head of an international syndicate versed in defrauding international businessmen seeking investment opportunities in Nigeria.
He allegedly invited the investor, a businessman from the Middle East, to invest in the flourishing oil sector in Nigeria. Using a pseudo name: Victor Emeka, he made the investor to visit Nigeria and received him at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja and thereafter flew him in a helicopter to a destination where he reportedly met a certain Mr. Grant, a member of the syndicate, who assured him of the credibility of the business arrangement.
Convinced that Uadiale was real and the business promising, the investor started paying money in foreign currency into Uadiale's offshore accounts where they are laundered into various bank accounts around the globe. A sum of $1,292,000 was traced to a Barclay's Bank (United Kingdom) account of Captain Nnaji Everest, a member of Uadiale's syndicate.
The sum of N1,599,602.58; N1,241,039,00; 894.79 Pound Sterling and $275.30 were traced to Uadiale's accounts with one of the new generation banks in Nigeria and another 391.93 Pound Sterling to another local bank.
In the course of investigation, Uadiale denied meeting or transacting any business with the foreign investor. He was however nailed by a business associate of the investor who identified him as the fraudster that duped the investor and led operatives of the EFCC to the private residence of Uadiale in Festac Town, Lagos.
Both suspects will soon be charged to court

A man in Indiana has been found guilty of murder after he reportedly killed his girlfriend.
According to NY Daily, 33-year-old Joseph Oberhansley was out on bail when he broke into the home of Tammy Jo Blanton, his ex-girlfriend, stabbed her to death and ate her heart, lungs and brain.

The victim was found dead in her home with severe injuries and a plate and cooking utensils covered in blood and bone were also reportedly found.
The crime was discovered after the victim’s colleagues called police officers when she didn’t show up for work. They found Oberhansley on the property.
According to the arrest report:
"He admitted to cooking a section of her brain and eating it,"
The suspect was reportedly convicted in 1998 for shooting his 17-year-old girlfriend Sabrina Elder.

A woman in Kaduna has been charged to court after she allegedly caused severe injury to her neighbour.
A complaint was filed by one Sanusi Sa’adu, of Nasarawa Village in the Kaduna South Local Government Area, who reportedly accused the suspect, Amina Muhktar of pouring hot water on his wife, Asiya and causing her burns on her Bosom  and arms.
The victim had reportedly gone to fetch water in Mukthar’s house when the alleged attack occurred.
Asiya is reportedly receiving treatment for her injuries in a  hospital while a court has ordered that the suspect  be remanded in prison pending the determination of the case.
The matter has been adjourned to 24th September, 2014 for hearing.

Chris K lost his aged father Pa Stephen Kasoro Kwakpovwe recently in Ughelli area of Delta state at age 90.

Bishop Chris, who was away in the United States when the incident happened, said the family would soon issue a statement, detailing the burial arrangement. He added that his father lived a good life which is worthy of emulation.

He urged all his well-wishers, pastors, friends and users of Our Daily Manna guide to prepare for a grand celebration of his father’s life.

The deceased was a retired Secondary school principal. He is survived by his wife, 12 children and 33 grandchildren.May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Are you going to let Borno, the great Kanemi Empire fall to these foreigners? Are you going to let the evil plotters take your Empire?

Boko Haram rules over 75% of Borno. They are installing satanic Emir’s in our palaces. They have vilified our sanctuaries. How long shall we run from them? How long shall our sons hide in ceilings only to be pulled out and slaughtered? How long shall we wait for this military whose leadership connives with the very terrorists who slaughter us? We have waited for five years and all that has happened is the rape of our people. The intentional fight-and-stop war that allows Boko Haram time to conscript more of our children for the military to help them slaughter in stage-wise annihilation. In these five years we have witnessed a partnership to exterminate us. We have been brought to our knees in five years. Are we still going to wait for this government that the entire world knows smuggles guns for terrorists? Are we still going to wait for this very government whose army chiefs supply our enemies the weapons they use to massacre us?

When shall we gather ourselves together, legions of brave Borno youth and make a stand? When shall we invite brothers from across Nigeria to come and join us recover our wealthy land? Is there not a warrior among us? Is there not a real leader among us? Do we not have wealthy enough people to sponsor us? Do we not have holy enough people to pray for us? If we must, we should chase out the entire military from our State and wage our battle, win or lose by ourselves; but dear family, the time for waiting on Jonathan is gone. He has handed over our rich land to foreigners from the French countries who want our oil, our farm land, our resources, our daughters and our youth. He has sold Borno because his heart is black. Aso rock is not simply vacant; it is occupied by smugglers, murderers and treacherous tyrants. It is a sin to wait for Aso rock. We cannot wait for evil leadership. On what account shall we wait for such evil leadership? How will we explain to those who come after us that we lost Bornu because we waited for the Beast?

I call on the people of Borno to rise up now. May the Custodian and Protector of mankind protect you.
