There was pandemonium yesterday night among security agencies in Yenagoa, Bayelsa after a soldier suspected to be drunk, shot and killed his colleague during an argument.

According to eye-witnesses, the incident happened around 11pm on Monday night at Olopa Junction, very close to Bayelsa state Government House. The yet to be identified soldier was immediately disarmed and arrested by his other colleagues and is currently remanded in a police cell.

The killer and victim are said to be attached to the police station in Olopa junction, Yenagoa. Spokesperson of Bayelsa State Police Command, Alex Akhigbe confirmed the killing but said it was a military affair. Details of the killing later.

This is one death too many. Why are Nigerians being killed with impunity in Dubai?
Tragedy struck the former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, on Sunday, when one of his sons, Oyamiefa, was murdered in Dubai where he was a student.

The 30yrs old late Oyamiefa, who was reportedly killed in the house belonging to his father in the Arab country, was said to be the only person living in the luxury apartment. The deceased was the last but one of the former governor’s children.

It was gathered that he was murdered by unknown gunmen who stormed his apartment on Sunday night. Some impeccable family sources disclosed that his lifeless body was recovered by neighbours.
It was gathered that the former governor was informed about the tragic development early Monday morning and he promptly departed for Dubai.
Alamieyeseigha was in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, preparing for his investiture as patron of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) on Thursday to launder his image for 2015 before the tragic occurrence forced him to abandon the event.

The event had been packaged to launder the image of the former governor after he received state pardon from President Goodluck Jonathan following his conviction for corruption during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration. Prior to his conviction, he had staged a dramatic escape from the UK where he was under house arrest and undergoing investigation for fraud.

Alamieyeseigha’s son’s death is the latest in the long list Nigerian students killed abroad.

The former Bayelsa governor has debunked the claim by Dubai police that his son committed suicide.

LEADERSHIP gathered that Oyemifa’s body had been found in a street by the police who searched him and found his identify card. Using the identification card, the police were said to have traced his home only to discover that he came from “a big family”.

It was gathered that shortly after ascertaining the background of the deceased, the policemen left but later came back to tell his family members in Dubai that Oyemifa had committed suicide.

The policemen were said to have based their claims on an autopsy they said was conducted on the body.

Alameiseigha, who was said to have taken the incident heavily, was said to have rejected the policemen’s claims. When contacted through a text message by our correspondent, the aggrieved former governor said: “He was killed in Dubai.”

The General Overseer of Revival Assembly Church, Apostle Anselm Madubuko in a new chat with Yes Magazine publisher says, it’s true that a lot of pastors practise occultism in the church using God to cover up their acts.

"It is painful for me to see what so many pastors are doing. So many of them are practising occultism in the church. They do all this for the love of money, power, for fame and they have compromised their faith. They are acting films on the pulpit, forging miracles and faking testimonies and unfortunately, people are falling victims.
"They have their support from their relatives; they connive with these people to hear what they shouldn’t hear. They give different contracts forgetting that we have also seen successful witches and wizards in Nigeria...

"They talk about Jonathan’s success, claiming they are responsible for it. These people may know your problems, but they don’t have the solutions, because they are not from God.

"They use and take advantage of your problems to siphon you and that is the most painful aspect. But for all the true servants of God who are genuinely called by God, I pray that God would keep them and give them the power to establish more churches, because we don’t have enough churches yet. We are over 150 million people. So, we need more churches to cater for the souls that are perishing."

One of the sons of former Bayelsa State governor DSP Alamieyeseigha (DSP), was killed in Dubai on Saturday October 11th. According to unconfirmed reports, Omo Alamieyeseigha was found dead either in a hotel room or his father's house on Saturday afternoon (details are still sketchy).

How and why he was killed has not been made public. His father left for Dubai yesterday to go deal with the sad incident. More details later...
