 biodun oke owo

Popular actress, Biodun Okeowo aka Tolani Oshirin is one of the hottest actresses in the Yoruba sector of Nollywood. With eight movies of her own and having featured in close to fifty of others, Biodun has become highly sought-after.

In a recent interview, speaking on her marriage plans, she said, “Presently, I’ll like to remain mute on my marital status but the glaring truth is that I’m not single. I have a man in my life. But what I am not ready to disclose are details about him. I am not single because I am with a man.
Please don’t ask me any further question on this. I am a very happy woman in love with a man in my life. I won’t break someone else home because I don’t want mine to be broken as well. But then man proposes and God disposes. No one can decide for God.
We can only pray fervently for our wishes. But one thing I don’t joke with is my happiness. When asked if she married as a virgin,”Yes, I did and I can boldly say that.”

3  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / How I succeeded in stealing 6 cars in Borno-Varsity Student Confesses(Photo) on: 19-10-2014 07:12 AM
Mari Paul Dirkwa, a final year student of the University of Maiduguri was arrested for stealing cars.

Mari was known as the “good guy” on campus. Those who knew him said he exhibited rare ingenuity and unmistakable mien of an intelligent young man but little did his schoolmates know that the 29-year-old undergraduate in the department of Business Education also doubled as a car thief having reportedly stolen six cars until recently when the bubble finally burst.

“I have stolen six cars before this recent one. I was trying to open the Honda Civic car when some people saw me but the police arrested me before I could escape,”
Asked why he ventured into car theft as an undergraduate, Mari said greed and selfish desire pushed him into the criminal act.

“It was selfishness and greed. Each time I stole a car and sold it, I got a lot of money and I felt like stealing another car again. It is greed and I regret my action. I promise I wont do it again when I get off this case,” he said in a sober tone, asking his family for forgiveness.
He said he often used a special key he called master key to open cars wherever they are packed, adding that his buyers are mostly in Gamboru-Ngala area in the Nigeria-Cameroon border.
“Yes, I know the buyers, they buy the cars and take them off the border in Gamboru area,”
Commissioner of Police, Borno state Command, Mr Clement Adoda told journalists the suspect was arrested by a team of police Special Anti-Robbery Squad on patrol along Bama road in Maiduguri while attempting to steal a green Honda Civic car. He said his arrest was possible following a tip off by those who witnessed the attempt to steal the car.
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to have previously stolen six assorted motor vehicles within Maiduguri metropolis and disposed off the same at different locations within the state,We are not able to locate the buyers now because of the terrain, I mean the security challenge in the area,”“Some people in the society have been mounting pressure” on the police to release the suspect but he maintained that he would be charged to court as soon as the police have completed their investigation.

5  Forum / The Buzz Central / Ella Mensah Engaged To Oritse Femi: Ghanaian Actress Says She’s Getting Married on: 19-10-2014 06:41 AM

“I Broke Up With My Ghanaian Boyfriend, Now I’m Getting Married To A Unique Nigerian”

Popular Ghana-born actress Emmanuella Gift Mensah aka Ella Mensah has opened up on her rumoured affair with popular Nigerian singer Oritse Femi.

The actress in a new interview with The Entertainer opens up on what attracted her to Nigeria. See excerpts from interview below:

Obviously, you are engaged to a Nigerian.

That’s very correct.

Do you share the popular notion among women that virtually all men are unreliable?

The truth is that not all people cheat and I am talking about both men and women; it is individualistic. There are always reasons why people cheat. For instance, someone may tell you that he or she has issues in their relationship but because they are not ready to quit, they do something to keep themselves happy. In the same vain, people always have a reason for staying in a relationship. However, every man has a weakness and it is the same with women. Whatever we have in men, there is its equivalent in women. But in life, once you make a choice, you should be ready to face the consequences; good or bad. Every man is a man and every woman is a woman. It all depends on how you play your cards. As an actress, I travel a lot. So, even if I date a Ghanaian or a Nigerian, I’m always somewhere outside home and away from my man. Would I ask my man to follow me everywhere? That is where trust comes into play.

So, what attracted you to this Nigerian?

Basically my man is unique. Though every man is unique but some are more unique than others; he is a special man. But as for why I chose a Nigerian man instead of a Ghanaian, you never can predict who you will fall in love with. I had a Ghanaian boyfriend, we broke up and now I’m getting married to a Nigerian. Whether he is a Ghanaian, Congolese, Sudanese or Nigerian doesn’t really matter. What matters is that I love him and I am comfortable with him. My man is romantic and hot; what more could a woman want in a man?

Would it be safe to describe your current visit as business turned into pleasure since your man is a Nigerian?

That is what it is. I flew here to work. But my man’s presence has made things a lot less stressful. I have done a couple of jobs and more are on the way.

Ella and Oritsefemi met in May 2014.
6  Forum / Sports / Segun Odegbami’s Daughter On Why She Moved To Nigeria & Why Parents Divorced on: 19-10-2014 06:40 AM

The daughter of Nigerian footballer Segun Odegbami, Yemisi popularly called May7Ven left the shores of Nigeria to London at a very young age. However, she is back in the country to actually give back to the society where she really belongs.

In this recent interview, Yemisi narrated her life story, her career and how her parents marriage problem has affected her.

Read interview excerpt below:

Are you resident in Nigeria now?

I have just moved back two months ago. I have been based in the UK all my life. I left here when I was about six, so yes, most of my life.

So, why did you decide to come back?

I decided to come now that I feel I have done what I could in the UK as a Nigerian entertainer. I left here at a time when there was no film or artist, but now there are a lot of us, a lot of female artistes, big name artistes in the air. And our music is being looked out for all over the world.

I try to keep myself attached because it’s kind of out of sight is out of mind, no matter what kind of music you play. So, I need to be in the system to be able to continue to enhance or develop a bit more. The infrastructure still need work, the management infrastructure are bad. The PR, everything still needs work. And now that the world is looking at what we are doing, it is very important that we get it right. So, apart from being a singer or an artiste, I am also a business person. I have a platform in the UK, I want to bring what I have learnt out there to Nigeria to help entertainers. I have booked a lot of artistes from Nigeria to perform in the UK, a lot of them, with at least 12 shows in a year. I will bring some of my expertise to Nigeria to further develop the entertainment industry as much as I could.

You have been in London all your life. The few moments you have been here, how can you compare the two?

It is a whole different ball game. I was here in 2007, I established into the whole sound-city and my videos were all over the place. It was on radio, I was signed with Globacom, I did an 18-city tour with Globacom. So, I knew how it was then, but then things were moving so quickly. This time round, I am just lying firmly on the ground to see what is happening around. But then UK is more organised, there is way of doing things; there is a way of getting on radio and TV. Let’s say in the UK, you have a song, you get consistent air play for like four weeks, that person is going to chart or become a brand and then stages after that. It is all-party of it, at least you know there is a plan and success story. In Nigeria, No one knows.

How much of your father’s support do you get?

Now I am getting a full support, he just left when I was about 16. I wanted to do this, he said go and study, then he kind of abandoned me to go and study. So, I tried studying but I was always performing in the night, then running off, sneaking to the studio. He wasn’t really supportive of that, not until I shot my first video. I worked on about two, three jobs they paid for because it is very expensive and I was a student, so he saw the video. I think he was with a friend and he called me from Nigeria and said: “Yemisi! Is that you on TV?”. I said yes dad. He said wow, that is my daughter. So, he took it seriously and he has been pushing me to fans, he has been supportive. He does not know more about the industry, so there is very little he can do. Now I am quite stubborn because I am artiste, I am not a famous person. I am a proper musician. I play instruments, I have been singing, so I do not ride upon my father’s name, only now I am telling people all about the name. He left a great legacy, I should be proud of him. For many years I did not want to tell anyone that my name is Yemisi Odegbami, I am a daughter of this because the first thing they will do is oh!! She is Yemisi Odegbami, that is her dad.

Where is your mum now?

She is based in London. She does desire to come back to Nigeria, she has been there for over 35 years. They did not divorce, they were separated for a while, then we struggled, she raised three of us by herself. It was really hard in London but she has come out of it and she is the most beautiful. She is so strong, you will not even see any history of the past in her face. I get emotional when I talk about my mother because she has gone through a lot and now she has come out very strong so she is my big role model.

What has life taught you?

A lot, when I think about my mother and the stuff that she has gone through in life, you know, her hardship, her struggle. Some people put themselves first, ok I want to be a doctor, they are going to focus on the career. They have children but they are still very career-oriented, that is how I am. But someone meant to leave everything they believe in marriage, she took a gamble, she just flew us to the UK, no money, nothing because she wanted a better life for us. She wanted us to have best education, best surroundings. She wanted everything to be different and she did not want to be surrounded by the whole football razzmatazz, women, all that type of things. She took a risk, that risk just ended up causing heartache and pain and parting ways with her husband. Finding us food, with not having anywhere to live, no money, coming out of school, so many bad things, racial abuse beyond the league, assault. She has gone through it all, and you see her, you cannot tell anything in her face, she is still the nicest, the most pleasant person you will meet. It is weird to meet people like that in this life.

If Buhari Picks Fashola As Presidential Running Mate, Jonathan Will Be Defeated

Ayo Akande ,a popular leader of APC in Lagos has suggested a winning strategy for All Progressive Congress Party in the upcoming 2015 Presidential election.

In a statement made on Thursday, Akande said Buhari vs Fashola ticket is the best option for APC

“A Buhari/Fashola combination stands to offer lot of advantages. We all know Buhari as a man of good virtue, who did not corruptly enrich himself. The APC stands a better chance to defeat President Goodluck Jonathan who has been endorsed as the sole candidate of the PDP for the 2015 presidential election.

“A Buhari/Fashola team would give the Peoples Democratic Party a good fight in the presidential elections.

“The antecedents of Buhari as a military head of state in terms of war against indiscipline and corruption and Fashola’s self-discipline and accountability would give the APC the long-sought exalted seat of the president of the country.”

“Fashola will make a good president but if the presidency is zoned to the North, then he will make a perfect running mate to Buhari,”.

Irregardless of his political party affiliation, Nigerians will vote overwhelmingly for Fashola if he’s permitted to run as either VP or President.

The man has changed Lagos state for the better.

9  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Nurse 'murdered 38 patients for pleasure and as a challenge'(Photos) on: 19-10-2014 06:26 AM

An Italian nurse has been arrested on suspicion of killing 38 patients and an investigator claims she treated murder as a challenge and a pleasure.
Daniela Poggiali, 41, was held after doctors at the hospital where she worked in Lugo, noticed that 38 patients had died during her night shifts over a three-month period. The average number of deaths for other nurses during the same period was ten.Ms Poggiali allegedly targeted patients she considered annoying, or who were visited by 'pushy relatives.'

Police started the investigation following the death of Rosa Calderoni, 78, in April, who was recovering from a broken femur and was admitted to the hospital feeling dizzy.
According to NY Times,Investigators say that during a post-mortem examination doctors found high traces of potassium chloride, which vanishes after 48 hours, making it hard to detect. It was also found in a drip investigators believe the nurse was using.

She put pressure on one nurse to take photos of her standing over a patient who had just died. 'She appears euphoric in the photo, next to someone she may have just killed,' said Mr Mancini.
Posting the photo online, Poggiali captioned it: 'Mm... Life and Death.'
'The photos reveal an unbearable cruelty that I have not seen in 30 years on the job,' said Mr Mancini.

Poggiali reportedly gave sedatives to troublesome patients to avoid being disturbed, telling colleagues: 'Don't worry, I will take care of them.'
Police say that she had been stealing money from patients. 'When one patient protested, Poggiali replied: 'You've got five euros left and you won't need it.' That patient died a week later,' Mr Mancini said.
