How are you preparing for the coming elections?

I am preparing to vote like many other Nigerians. On Saturday, I will go to the nearby polling station and obey all the rules and regulations. But I am surely prepared to exercise my franchise.

When was the first time you ever voted?

The first time I voted? I know I have been voting since I became eligible to do so, and since democracy returned to Nigeria.

Don’t you get distracted by your fans whenever you are at polling booths?

No. Not really. I just go for the business of the day because people also know that you must obey the rules. I don’t allow distractions.

Is there a memorable voting day you like to remember?

Well, I don’t have issues during voting. For instance, I don’t have problems with accreditation. So, there has been no particularly memorable day.

What advice do you have for Nigerians concerning Saturday election and the one on April 11?

From top to down, everyone should exercise restraint and obey the rules. There should be no sentiments about anyone or anything because our vote is our power.

Oga Bello has two wives, four children and he hails from Osun State in Nigeria.

AD Presidential candidate steps down for Buhari...

Barely 24 hours to the presidential elections, the presidential candidate of Alliance for Democracy, AD, Rafiu Salau announced he has stepped down for APC candidate. Gen. Mohammadu Buhari.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday,he said

“Don’t give any other party your mandate to stay in power for more than 16 years. You deserve another team of politicians with different manifestos and ideology to serve you.
“As voters, don’t listen to those who based their campaign on tribe and religion. In politics, the difference is ideology. Religion or tribe has nothing to do with pure democracy. Those who see your vote by tribe or religious influence have no program to implement for the greatness of the country.

“The democracy is yours. Control it so that no party will take it away from you. PDP has been in power for 16 years and It has tried its best.
“No matter good the performance of PDP for the past 16 years, you need to vote for another party before you can know that you will always get a better performance when you create competition among the parties.
“All of you, the 68 million voters should vote for General Buhari, the candidate of the democrats who will bring change. Vote APC. Show the world that you are in control of your democracy”, Salau said.

In response ,the National Chairman of APC, Chief John Oyegun said..

“By identifying with Buhari, it means that you must have to look at our programmes and our candidate and judge. You can see they are people-oriented. Our candidate is more qualified to lead the country.
“I am asking people to judge the administration of President Jonathan whether they really deserve any support of any kind. The PDP government has failed in every aspect. The main business of government today is corruption”, Oyegun said.

3  Forum / Politics / Buhari Has Been Endorsed By 16 Political Parties on: 27-03-2015 04:24 PM

Buhari Has Been Endorsed By 16 Political Parties

Sixteen political parties have endorsed the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, General Muhammadu Buhari, for the highly anticipated Saturday’s presidential election.

They also passed a vote of confidence in the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, to conduct a free, fair and credible election across the country.

At a press conference in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, the political parties, which spoke through the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Mr. Tunji Ogunlola, said Buhari could deliver the Nigeria’s economy from the present shackles of corruption and insecurity.

He stated that the task of rebuilding the nation was onerous but could be achieved if Nigerians keyed into the ‘Change’ message which Buhari had brought to save Nigerians from PDP.

Lamenting the level of insecurity and corruption under President Goodluck Jonathan’s government, Ogunlola, a former Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, promised that the 16 parties would work for Buhari’s victory at the poll.

He said, “We have thrown our weight behind Gen. Buhari in the interest of all Nigerians to salvage, liberate and rebuild the country.

“We, therefore, look forward to ensuring the resounding victory of General Buhari, who will break the yoke of insecurity in the country."

4  Forum / Politics / Read the national broadcast by Pres. Jonathan on the 2015 election on: 27-03-2015 03:55 PM

President Jonathan this morning addressed the nation in a TV broadcast where he called on everyone to come out en-mass to vote for leaders of their choice. What he said below...

Dear Compatriots,

1. As we prepare to go to the polls tomorrow, I have come before you this morning to express my immense appreciation for the opportunity you gave me to lead this great nation of ours in the past four years.

I also wish to place on record, once again, my sincere gratitude for the support you have given my administration without which the significant progress we have made in recent years would not have been possible.

In spite of the many challenges we have had to contend with since 1999, our present democratic dispensation continues to endure and grow stronger in keeping with the yearnings and aspirations of our people.

We have all worked very hard to nurture and strengthen our democratic institutions and promote the good governance practices which they were designed to deliver for the better well-being of  our people.

I believe I can say without fear of contradiction that we all clearly cherish the democracy we now have and will never willingly give it up for any other form of governance.

This much-cherished democracy of ours is about to be put to the test once again.

I urge you all to troop out en-masse to peacefully perform your civic duty of voting for leaders of your choice tomorrow.

As we do so, let us all - political party leaders, contestants, party members, party agents, supporters and ordinary voters alike, be very conscious of the fact that the eyes of the entire world are on us.

We must therefore comport ourselves in a manner that will further strengthen our democracy and consolidate our place in the comity of truly democratic nations.

I made a commitment on assumption of office to progressively deliver freer, fairer and more credible elections in our country. In keeping with that commitment, the Federal Government has given the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) all necessary support to ensure that it conducts very successful elections tomorrow and on April 11.

We have all been assured that INEC is fully ready for the elections. I believe that we can all trust that they are certainly more ready now than they may have been before security issues and other concerns necessitated a re-scheduling of the dates for the 2015 general elections.

As an administration, we welcome the fact that millions of Nigerians who were yet to receive their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) as at February 14, and would therefore have been unfairly disenfranchised if the polls had gone ahead  on that date, have seized the opportunity of the re-scheduling to collect their cards and can now exercise their right to votetomorrow.

We are also glad that our gallant Armed Forces have successfully stemmed the seizure of Nigerian territories in the North-East by the terrorist group, Boko Haram.

They have recaptured most of the communities and territories formerly occupied by the insurgents, making it possible for thousands of internally-displaced Nigerians to begin returning to their homes and communities.

I heartily commend the very courageous men and women of our Armed Forces for the immense sacrifices which they continue to make in defending the nation and protecting its citizens.

I also thank all Nigerians for keeping faith with us over the past six weeks.

I call on all political parties and politicians in the country to allow the free, unfettered will of our people to be expressed without any hindrance in the coming elections in keeping with the hallowed principles and tenets of democratic governance which we all profess.

The will of the people freely expressed through the ballot is the bedrock of all democracies and ours cannot be an exception.

Let us all therefore be prepared, as true democrats, to graciously accept the outcome of the elections as the rightful choice of our people from whom all political powers in our democracy must emanate.

My administration has done its utmost best in the past four years to deliver on our promise to positively transform our country.

Tomorrow’s election is another very important milestone as we continue our march towards the fulfillment of our God-given potential for greatness.

The election offers us another opportunity to empower leaders of our choice once again, and to show the world that genuine democracy is alive and well in our beloved nation.

I will like to restate my belief that no political ambition can justify violence or the shedding of the blood of our people.

I reaffirm once again, my personal preparedness to ensure fair play during the elections and to deploy the resources and institutions of state only in the manner prescribed by our laws.

Let me warn, however, that as President, Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am under oath to protect the lives of all Nigerians and the security of our country at all times. I will never abdicate my responsibilities in that regard.

Democracy allows dissent. It encourages differences and even fervent disagreements. But elections must never be mistaken for war or an opportunity to set fellow citizens against each other and tear our beloved nation apart.

Those who may harbor any intentions of testing our will by unleashing violence during the elections in order to advance their political ambitions should think again as all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure that any persons who breach the peace or cause public disorder during or after the elections are speedily apprehended and summarily dealt with according to our laws.

The nation’s security agencies are also fully prepared and ready to deal decisively with any group or persons who attempt to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the elections or cause any form of public disorder.
Our dear country, Nigeria is the largest democracy amongst black nations of the world. We are a nation of great accomplishments, with a proud history of evolving affinities.

Let us go out tomorrow to vote peacefully and set a fitting example of political maturity for other emerging democracies to follow.

I wish you all and our dear nation, very peaceful and successful elections.

May God Almighty continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I thank you all.

5  Forum / Politics / Shekau still Alive-Woman held captive by Boko Haram on: 25-03-2015 11:08 AM

One of the nine women who broke walls to escape from their captors in Gwoza town of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State has revealed that Abubakar Shekau, leader of the Boko Haram, is still alive.

Chatting with newsmen in Maiduguri, she said “Shekau, who was thought to have been killed many times by the Nigerian security forces, is very much alive and healthy.”She added that the Boko Haram leader  preaches in Gwoza township.”

According to the Nigerian Tribune, the woman said, before their escape from the den of the terrorists, they witnessed the killings of 75 elders of Gwoza, including her father in-law, who were hanged and their bodies left on the streets of Gwoza.

“My husband is alive, he had run away since the early days of the invasion and is currently here in Maiduguri. We were captured since then by the Boko Haram and have remained in their custody for more than three months before now. When we escaped, we travelled by night in the bushes until we arrived at Michika. Those who arrested us at Michika said we were Boko Haram’s wives, but we pleaded and having proven our innocence, they kept us for days until when the former governor of Adamawa State, Mr Boni Haruna, came to Michika. It was he who offered to help us with food and medication. When we regained our strength, he asked us many questions.

“It was during the questioning that I mentioned my husband brother’s name who is living in Adamawa and they sent for him. After he had identified me, they released me to him, before I later came to Maiduguri to unite with my family,”

The woman said she has seven children and believed they are still alive, though she is at present in one of the internally displaced persons camps in Maiduguri GRA.

6  Forum / Politics / The End Of The World Is It 28th March 2015? on: 25-03-2015 10:25 AM

The End Of The World Is It 28th March 2015?

The world is coming to an END. The Air is polluted, the ocean is contaminated, and animals going in stained. The economy is collapsing, the education is shut, police are corrupt, intelligent are shredding, ignorance are rewarded. The people are depress and angry. We can’t live with each other, we can’t live with ourselves, so everyone is medicating, we pass each other on the street, if we do speak, and it’s meaningless with body communication.

People like 15 seconds of FAME than a life time of meaning and purpose because what is popular is more important than what is RIGHT, Raiding is more important than what is truth. Our government built twice of many ghettos than schools. President lies...
politician triggers, tribalism is still an issue, so does Religion; your God doesn’t exit, my God does – He is all loving, if you disagree with me I will KILL you or even argue you to dead. 92% of songs in the Radio are about sex, kids hardly watch cartoon rather they prefer filthy movies. The average person watches 5 hours of television because of lack of employment, there more violence on the street like never before. Technology has given us everything we can ever want (Facebook, twitter, WhatsApp, BBM, etc) and at the same time stolen everything we really need. Pride is all time high, humility is all time low, everybody knows everything, everybody is going somewhere, knowing someone, blaming someone, nobody is ready to do the right thing.

Money is still the root of all evil, yet we tell our kids that if you don’t get that degree the job doesn’t pay well. Good deeds are only done where there is Profit Margin, when videos of misfortunes of others go vera, we laugh and share them with our friends to laugh with us.
So what can we do in all these madness and chaos, what is the solution? We can LOVE, not the love you hear in your favourite song on the Radio, I mean Real Love, True Love, Boundless Love; love each other from the moment we wake-up to the moment we go to bed, Performing an act of kindness because that is contagious. We can be mindful doing every action of planting seed of goodness, join with little more of compassion as usual we can forgive because 300 years from now that grudge you are holding against your friends, your mother, your father, does it worth it?

Instead of trying to change others, we can change ourselves, we can change our hearts that is fill with lies, brain watch by our leaders and those we trusted not recognize our brothers and sisters until we exhibited Anger, Hatred and Cruelty, but for the ones we truly love, we will replace Anger with Sympathy, Hatred with Compassion, Cruelty with Kindness. Love is the greatest weapon on the face of the earth – Robert Kennedy once said “ Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total; of all those acts will be written the history of this generation.”
So yes – the World is coming to an END and the path of its New Beginning start within YOU.

[# The Lone Wolf]
REVOLUTION is all we need – Mental Revolution, not the revolution of the number of people slaughter or murder for struggle of power, but a change in a process of thought in the mental attitude to situations and the things that represent the essence of the populace demand. It’s time to vote right, fair without fear, don’t VOTE Buhari, don’t VOTE Jonathan, VOTE to be Faithful, Loyal and Honest, and to up hold our UNITY, Honor and Glory in the face of corruption, tribalism, and threat, so help you God…One Love!
