Nollywood actor, Charles Inojie was reportedly robbed at gunpoint while in traffic in Lagos on Sunday, December 20.
Fellow actor, Chinedu Ikedieze made the announcement on Instagram.
Ikedieze assured fans and followers that the ‘The Johnsons’ star was unhurt even though his phone and other valuables were stolen from him.
He provided an alternative phone number for Charles Inojie to be reached while he works on retrieving his stolen SIM and urged that people remain careful out there especially during this period.
A pastor, Christopher Ebenyi has confessed after he was caught defiling a 5-year-old girl after visiting her home in Ebonyi.
He has been arraigned by the Ebonyi State Police Command on Friday.
It was gathered that the 45-year-old man had gone to the victim’s house to sell some immune booster drugs to her mother, when the incident took place.
The victim’s mother was said to have gone out to buy some items when Ebenyi allegedly took advantage of the girl.
The mother, who spoke to PUNCH Metro on condition of anonymity, said, “The pastor came to our house to sell some drugs to me. Before he came, I had it in mind to get some things for the house. So, I left him and my daughter to go and buy those things.
“When I got back home, I saw the pastor inserting his fingers in my daughter’s private parts. I shouted and he said it was the devil. I called people, who came around and beat him up. Eventually, he was arrested.”
The defendant confessed to the crime.
In his confessional statement, he said, “I am Pastor Christopher Ebenyi. I am from Eziulo in the Ishielu Local Government Area. I know the victim at Convent in Abakaliki. I got to their house and called her; she came and I touched her private parts.”
He was arraigned on one count of indecent assault before the magistrate’s court.
The police prosecutor, ASP Mathias Eze, told the court that the offence was punishable under Section 222 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 33, Vol 1, Laws of Ebonyi State of Nigeria, 2009.
The charge read, “That you, Christopher Ebenyi, on December 15, 2020, on Nsi Road, Abakaliki, in the Abakaliki Magisterial District, did finger the honeypot of one (name withheld) aged five, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 222 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 33, Vol. 1, Laws of Ebonyi State of Nigeria, 2009.”
The counsel for the defendant, C.F. Ogbonnaya, applied for his bail, which the prosecuting counsel opposed on the grounds that he might run away.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Nnenna Onuoha, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
According to Onuoha, the defendant must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court.
She adjourned the matter till January 28, 2021, for trial.
A young lady has been segxwally assaulted after being gang-raped by her neighbours in Ogun state.
Officers of the Nigerian police have trailed and arrested two young men for forcefully having carnal knowledge of their 19-year-old neigbhour and filming her Nood.
According to Punch, the suspects identiifed as Damilare Oyeniyi, 30, and Emmanuel Okori, 20 reportedly committed the crime on December 12, 2020 in the Sango area of the state.
They were arrested four days later by policemen attached to the Sango Divisional Police Office.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday.
Oyeyemi explained that the suspects were arrested following a report lodged at the Sango Police Station by the victim.
He said the teenager reported that Oyeniyi and Okori, who were her neighbours, dragged her into the room of one of them, stripped her naked, filmed her Nood and took turns to rape her several times.
The police spokesman said, “Upon the report, the DPO Sango division, CSP Godwin Idehai, detailed his detectives to go after the suspects and bring them to book.
“The investigative effort of the detectives paid off on December 16, 2020, when the duo were eventually arrested.
“On interrogation, the two suspects confessed to the crime.
“They confessed that they videoed her Nood, which they used to threaten her not to report or else the video would be posted on social media.
“The state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.”

Taking to Twitter to share his experience, Omah Lay described the past few days as 'toughest of my life' and claimed he was treated like a common criminal after his arrest.
In one tweet, the singer appreciated fans who came out to watch him perform, before clarifying that it was never his intention to cause any harm that could have likely caused the spread of infectious disease.
According to him, the show promoters confirmed and proved they’d secured all clearances including COVID-19 compliance, paving the way for him to make himself available for the event.
The singer also tendered a public apology to his family, team, and fans for the 'sleepless nights' he had caused them and thanked everyone who played a role to help facilitate his release from prison.

A Nigerian man has expressed disappointment in his girlfriend for withdrawing N60k from his account without his permission.
In a leaked WhatsApp chat between the couple, it was gathered that the lady identified as Esther who has access to her boyfriend’s ATM card, withdraw N60,000 and didn’t bother telling him until he received a debit alert.
The boyfriend who was furious about it, asked her never to withdraw money from his account without seeking his permission.
However, Esther who felt entitled to the money, and angry at her boyfriend, told him she has every right to withdraw money from his account anytime any day without his permission so far as she remains his girlfriend.
Jailed pastor, Israel Oladele Ogundipe (Genesis)’s post-conviction bail application has been refused by Justice Olabisi Akinlade of an Ikeja High Court.
Recall that the judge jailed the popular televangelist, who is the Shepherd-in-Charge of Celestial Church of Christ Global Genesis parish, on November 18.
An America-based architect, Mrs. Olaide Williams-Oni, had accused the convict of obtaining a total of N17m from her with the promise to help her procure some landed property which he never did.
He was convicted on two out of seven counts bordering on fraud and obtaining by false pretence preferred against him by the Lagos State Government.
The judge sentenced the convict to one year in prison on each of the two counts but ruled that they would run concurrently.
However, in a motion on notice for bail pending appeal, Ogundipe asked the court for an order, admitting him to unconditional bail pending the hearing and determination of the appeal of his sentence.
The application was brought pursuant to Section 6(6) of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).
In a 16-paragraph deposed to by his counsel, Olanrewaju Ajanaku, he said he was suffering from diabetes.
The applicant argued that his health has deteriorated at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre where he is serving his jail term as he could not follow a strict diet and due to lack of specialised medical attention his condition required.
He added that he has since his incarceration developed hypertension, peptic ulcer and unending malaria.
However, Justice Akinlade refused his application.
”The convict has not shown any medical records of his illness. Also, he has not been to the prison hospital for treatment. So his appeal can be heard early by the Court of Appeal,” the judge ruled.

Singers Tem and Omah lay are likely to face a 7-years jail sentence in Uganda prison for organising an unlawful concert
According to Uganda law, any negligency that will lead to the spread of infectious diseases according to C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act will serve 7-year jail term.
The unauthorised concert was held in Ddungu Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala City.
The singers are currently under remand and will be arranged before the court on Wednesday 16 December 2020.

Tragedy struck on Friday evening in Ondo State following an accident which claimed about five lives along Ikare-Akoko/Owo highway.
The accident occured in Akungba-Akoko, headquarters of Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the accident which involved three trucks, happened at the Okerigbo Hill near the main gate of the Adekunle Ajasin University situated in the community.
One of the trucks, which was said to be loaded with bags of cement, suffered a brake failure while descending the hill from Ikare-Akoko end of the road.
Recall that six weeks ago, similar accident occurred when a truck which suffered break failure rammed into a market in the community, killing no fewer than 16 people and injured many residents of the town.
The cement-laden truck collided with the two other two trucks after losing control and it immediately caught fire and burnt the three trucks.
According to an eyewitness, about five persons were feared dead as they were trapped in the fire while several people were injured.
The eyewitness added that while the trucks were burning for hours, there was heavy gridlock on the route as vehicles were forced to stop with no firefighting truck on sight.
Confirming the accident, the Ikare Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Kabir Mohammed, said the cause of the accident was yet to be ascertained as at press time.
