Barely five days to the commencement of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) election, no venue has been announced yet.

The forthcoming election which had been shifted three times will hold this Friday and Saturday, but the preparations have been characterised by controversies. As at time of filing this report, no venue has been announced for the election.

The guild’s electoral committee initially announced plans to host the election in Ekiti State, but it has been cancelled due to what they termed logistic problems.

NollwoodReel gathered that at the moment, organisers of the election are still contemplating whether to host it at Abia State or Akwa Ibom.

The choice of the election venue has therefore caused controversies among AGN members, and of course, some of the contestants.

Some of the actors that spoke with NollywoodReel argued that since Lagos State being the headquarters of actors, the election is expected to be held there, not in another state where the guild has lesser members.

“I smell foul play here. An ideal AGN election should be held in Lagos, not in a state where majority of members will not have access to vote and where the chances of rigging will be massive,” a top actor said in anonymity.
