A wife of a policeman was found to be cooking for armed robbers that were terrorising Dansadau area of Maru Local Government of Zamfara State in recent times.

This was disclosed by the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Zone 10 comprising Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states, Alhaji Muhammad Jinjiri Abubakar, while on a visit to the state to assess the security situation in the area.

To this end, he ordered the immediate redeployment of all police officers in the area, saying, “I gave the state police command seven days to effect the transfer.”

Commenting further, he disclosed that from police intelligence gathering, it was discovered that a policeman’s wife was cooking for the armed robbers.

He warned officers and men to desist from such acts as it is capable of denting the image of the police, insisting that, anybody found wanting would be dealt with.

Abubakar, however, lamented that the police could not arrest the woman. “Before our men could get to her house, she has left the place. And up till now that I am speaking with you, nobody knows her whereabouts.

“You know everywhere, there are bad eggs. But I want to assure the public of police preparedness to track down the woman. I am convinced she would give us information about the criminals,” he said.
