Coming about four months since a similar fire destroyed a sizeable part of the market, Saturday PUNCH learnt that no life was lost in the fire.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the fire burned till about 10pm when it was doused by the fire service. It could however, not be confirmed if the fire service was from Ogun State or Lagos State.
“The fire seems to have broken out from a cooking stove,” the eyewitness told Saturday PUNCH.
It was also learnt that the traders lost many of their makeshift shelters to the fire but the estimated value of property lost could not be immediately ascertained.
No cattle was lost in the fire.
