In the mid-week, it was reported that military men stormed the office of the Nation newspapers in Benin City and Warri and confiscated their publication(read up here).

However, General Atiku Abubakkar have condemned this act by the federal government. He termed it agt of dictatorship. According to him,
"By attacking the press, and arresting journalists, aren't we slowly edging back to the dark days of military dictatorship?"
"Nigeria is a democracy, and freedom of the press is a non-negotiable component of democratic governments."
