Ex-Liberian President Charles Taylor has been ordered to serve the rest of his jail term in the UK, after losing a request to be transferred to Rwanda.
Taylor had argued that he was being denied his rights to a family life, because his wife and children had not been granted UK visas. But judges rejected this argument, saying they had not properly applied.
Taylor argued he was being held "effectively in isolation" because he was "too much of a target and too vulnerable" to be kept with other inmates of the Frankland prison in the northern English city of Durham. Stating he wants to be on the African continent, where people would share a "cultural affinity" with him, Reporters says.
The court however turned all his appeals down stressing that prisoners did not have the right to choose their place of incarceration. Judges also told his lawyers to ask his family to re-apply for UK Visas.
It will be recalled that a UN-backed court convicted him of war crimes over his support for rebels who committed atrocities in Sierra Leone years ago.

Hear him talking about family life, when he destroyed thousands of families. Renders parents childless and homeless, children orphans and homeless.

posterity will judge anybody or group of people that is responsible for constant power outage in isolo, holy savior area in particular. all phcn officials and their staff, whether it is politically motivated or otherwise like the current issue of fuel hoarding by petrol stations around the area thereby causing artificial and unwarranted scarcity, the people were denied of power (which they paid for) and also petrol for their generators to use in their respective homes after work this warm period. As they keep the people in dark and penury, so shall their generation witness darkness up to the fourth. according to the irreversible law of nature, what goes around comes back around. he who holds me down holds himself, he who takes something from a child and raises his hand up, one day, he shall feel pain on the hand and brings it down while the patience waiting child takes back his ware jejely.
