Forty eight hours to the presidential election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his position on the conduct of the election.

Buhari, who spoke to journalists after signing the renewed Peace Accord in Abuja, said he would only accept the outcome of the result if free and fair.

Asked if he would accept the outcome of the election result, whichever way it goes he stated that the caveat to accepting the outcome is: “if it is free and fair.”

The two leading contenders the Peoples Democratic Party, Presidential (PDP) candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan and Buhari had the renewal document signed at the Sheraton Hotels in Abuja before the former Military Head of State and Chairman of the National Peace Committee, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubarkar.

The original Peace Accord was entered into by the political parties on January 14.

Others, who were present at the closed door meeting, were: Arch Bishop Cardinal John Onayeikan, the Sultan of Sokoto, Saa’ad Abubarkar, Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Kukah, the APC National Chairman, Chief John Oyegun, his PDP counterpart, Adamu Mu’azu and Yunusa Tanko, Chairman, Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC).

Speaking after the meeting, Abubarkar stated that the meeting was brokered to renew the peace accord deal signed by the two leading contenders and seven other presidential candidates in January.

The former military head of state expressed delight that both parties – PDP and APC – have shown great commitment on the call for peace to among their supporters in the Saturday’s elections.

On their part the presidential candidates, Jonathan and Buhari called on their supporters to refrain from violence or any acts that may in anyway jeopardise the collective vision of a free and fair elections.

The two candidates also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies to stick‎ strictly to their constitutional roles.

There is never a free and fair election in any part of the world so Nigeria own will not be different, except if Buhari has any hidden agenda if he did not win because I am sure he will not win.

posterity will judge anybody or group of people that is responsible for constant power outage in isolo, holy savior area in particular. all phcn officials and their staff, whether it is politically motivated or otherwise like the current issue of fuel hoarding by petrol stations around the area thereby causing artificial and unwarranted scarcity, the people were denied of power (which they paid for) and also petrol for their generators to use in their respective homes after work this warm period. As they keep the people in dark and penury, so shall their generation witness darkness up to the fourth. according to the irreversible law of nature, what goes around comes back around. he who holds me down holds himself, he who takes something from a child and raises his hand up, one day, he shall feel pain on the hand and brings it down while the patience waiting child takes back his ware jejely.
