Nigerian celebs who gave birth when they were young: These celebrities had their first babies as teenagers. Some had theirs as early as 14 years. Most of them got married at tender age and started making babies immediately.

1. SHAN GEORGE

Shan George got married at tender age of 16 and had her two boys who are now men, immediately after marriage. Shan later walked out of the marriage.
“Being married at the age of 16 was just like a child still living with her parents. It was more like an obligation. I don’t really want to talk about it because of my children.” She said. Meanwhile, the talented actress welcomed her first grandchild on September 7, 2014 as her first son, Delnoi had a beautiful baby girl.




2. OMOTOLA JALADE EKEINDE
Star actress Omotola met her pilot husband at age 16, and got married to him at age 18 and had her first child, her daughter at age 19. Her kids are growing up so fast.





3. IRETI DOYLE

Actress Ireti Doyle had her first child when she was in her late teens. Her daughter is all grown up now and recently got married. They look more like sisters.

4. CLARION CHUKWURA

Talented and daring actress, Clarion was impregnated by Sir Shina Peters many years ago when they were dating. She got pregnant at age 18 and had her baby boy who has grown to be a music director, in the person of Clarence Peters (Pictured Above). The AMAA best actress looks more like Clarence’s elder sister.


5. GENEVIEVE NNAJI

The super star actress became a mum at age 17. Super star Nigerian Actress Genevieve Nnaji has a daughter. Her name is Chimebuka but her friends call her Theo. 6. LIZ BENSON

Super star actress, Liz Benson got married to her first husband, Samuel Gabriel Etim at a very young age. The marriage had already produced 2 girls and 1 boy before beautiful Liz lost her husband to death in her mid twenties.

The plus size role interpreter had her daughter at a very tender age of 14.“Sometimes, I ponder on that. I had a child when I was 14. My peers influenced me. But it has been some time now.”

8. OBOT ETUK

The Akwa Ibom born beautiful actress cum costumier got married at the tender age of 15 and started making babies immediately. She had 3 kids before her divorce. “We got married in 1985 and divorced in 2002. The marriage did not last long. We were young when we got married. I was 15 then and he was 18.”

Well done to them. Unlike most of their European counterparts most of these Nigerian icons were married when they had babies as young girls.

However many young Nigerian girls of today, appear to take pride in having babies out of wedlock and with different men. The term "baby mama" is now a title!!!
