Fabregas is back having missed Sunday’s 2-1 win over Tottenham at Wembley after he was shown two yellow cards at home to Burnley on the opening day of the season.

But Antonio Conte will be without Gary Cahill again, with the Chelsea captain still banned following his red card against Burnley.

While Eden Hazard is unavilable having played for the Under-23s yesterday as he builds up his fitness following a broken ankle.

Hazard is yet to feature for the Premier League champions this season, but is due to return after the international break having been called up by Belgium.

Meanwhile, Everton have doubts over both Idrissa Gueye and Sandro Ramirez and will be without Davy Klaassen for their trip to Stamford Bridge.

Gueye missed Thursday's win over Hajduk Split as a precaution with a hamstring problem.

And neither striker Sandro (heel) nor midfielder Klaassen (foot) played either, the latter having already been ruled out of a return against Chelsea.

Toffees manager Ronald Koeman's midfield options are limited as Morgan Schneiderlin is suspended following his dismissal at Manchester City.

While James McCarthy, Ramiro Funes Mori, Yannick Bolasie (all knee), Seamus Coleman (broken leg) and Ross Barkley (hamstring) are on the sidelines.

Chelsea provisional squad: Courtois, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Kante, Fabregas, Pedro, Bakayoko, Moses, Willian, Batshuayi, Morata, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Christiansen, Kenedy, Tomori, Musonda, Boga, Remy, Scott.

Everton provisional squad: Pickford, Stekelenburg, Martina, Keane, Williams, Jagielka, Baines, Gueye, Sigurdsson, Davies, Besic, Lennon, Rooney, Calvert-Lewin, Mirallas, Holgate, Lookman.
