A human rights activist has rescued a 17-year-old pregnant salesgirl who was accused of stealing from her boss.
A young 17-year-old girl identified simply as Ogechukwu has been released on bail after she was arrested and kept in police custody for 5 days for allegedly stealing from her boss.

She was arrested alongside five others by her boss and refused bail by the police because she couldn't afford N15,000. The sad incident took place in Delta state.

Help came her after the of CEO Behind Bars initiative, Prince Gwamnishu Harrison took pity on her and secured her release yesterday.

Harrison took to Facebook to share the experience and wrote:

"BEFORE THEY SEND PREGNANT TEENAGER TO JAIL.
17 YEARS PREGNANT UNDER AGE GIRL(OGECHUKWU) RELEASED ON BAIL AFTER FIVE DAYS IN POLICE CUSTODY.

Ogechukwu who is six (6) months pregnant was arrested last week Thursday with five others by her employee for stealing. Others secured their bail by paying huge some but Ogechukwu was denied bail by the police for failing to provide N15,000.
Yesterday at about 9:45pm, she was released to us on bail to be charged to court this morning.
We will be in court this morning to also release her.

Thanks to Area Commander Delta State Police Command for joining us to release Ogechukwu.

Together we will change the narrative.
