A young man was beaten mercilessly by a mob after he was spotted wearing a cloth allegedly stolen from a boutique at Ikot Ekpene road in Umuahia, Abia State today. According to reports, the suspect was seen by the owner of the boutique – wearing one of the clothes allegedly looted from the store.

When quizzed by his captors, the young man said he didn’t steal the cloth and that it was given to him by one of his friends. He was tied up and beaten by the residents before he was handed over to security operatives – not after the said cloth was stripped off him.
