Expensive CCTV cameras have been installed in some delicate spots in Ibadan, Oyo State to help in combating crime. Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi on Monday commissioned the Safe City project which includes the siting of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in 10 crime-prone areas in Ibadan.

The Executive Secretary, Oyo State Security Trust Fund (OYSSTF), Mr. Femi Oyedipe, disclosed that over N300 million has been expended in installing the CCTVs across the state to boost security.
The cameras, which feed a control room under around-the-clock surveillance, monitor activities at major junctions in the city.

Oyedipe who harped on the need for individuals and organizations in the state to pay their security levies assured that with the installation of CCTVs in 10 sites in Ibadan, additional 10 sites are to be located in Oyo, Ogbomoso and Saki areas of the state.

He noted that the response had been commendable since OYSSTF began the collection of the security levy in July. He, however, urged residents and visitors in the state to cooperate with the government to ensure a safer and secure environment for all.

Security is one of the biggest concerns of citizens, not knowing how to protect their homes because nothing is reliable, in my case I took measures and decided to buy AJAX system which is an excellent, vigilant allows you to synchronize your device to any video camera surveillance so that you can create your own closed-circuit system with the cameras of your choice and that's not all, motion sensors are one of his best inventions because they can even detect smoke and warn you of potential danger.
