Hausa Man, Aminu Inuwa Slaughters His Wife, Safara’u Aminu For Disrespecting Him

The Kano state Police Command on Thursday arrested 26-year-old man, Aminu Inuwa, of Jakada Quarters, for allegedly slaughtering his 17-year-old wife, Safara’u Aminu.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Haruna, confirming the arrest said, “on April 2nd the command had received a report at 12 pm that Inuwa slaughtered his wife to with a knife.

Haruna alleged the suspect and his wife had a misunderstanding, after which Inuwa slaughtered his wife and buried her in the house.

“The police exhumed the corpse from the grave and took her to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital Kano for autopsy,” he said.

He said the command had since commenced an investigation in the matter and during the investigation, the suspect had confessed to committing the crime.

He added the suspect would be charged to court as soon as the investigation is completed.

A 26-year-old man identified as Aminu Inuwa of Unguwar Jakada in Kano, has been apprehended after he killed his 18-year-old wife for ‘being disobedient’ one month after their wedding.

The suspect who buried his wife Safara’u in the matrimonial home, was nabbed after he approached a neighbour with series of questions on how to bury a corpse and the Islamic injunction on whoever kills a human being.

Community leaders in the area who stormed the man’s house after the incident was reported, found blood-stained shovel and digger beside what appeared to be a grave.
However speaking to journalists, the man admitted killing his wife barely a month after their wedding for being disobedient. He further claimed it was accidental and not intentional.

“The reason is she was not obeying my directive. I really loved my wife as she equally loved me to the extent that I don’t want to live without her. The incident was accidental, not intentional,” he said.

Abdullahi Haruna, the Kano State Police Command spokesperson who confirmed the suspect is in custody, said;
“A 26-year-old man of Unguwar Jakada in Kano metropolis was reported to have slaughtered his 18-year-old wife, Safara’u Aminu, and dug a grave in the house and buried her. The police have excavated the grave and took the corpse to the mortuary at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital the suspect is now under police custody, an investigation has since commenced. When completed, he would be prosecuted before a court of competent jurisdiction.”

Number two:How did you slaughter her by mistake? Slaughter is not related to manslaughter in anyway despite the fact that the words sounds alike.
