Massive flood hits Ondo state after a heavy downpour.

The video shows the flood take over houses, schools, churches, destroys shops and cars.
Two children also reportedly died in the flood.
With the rain pouring heavily these days, the flood is a sign of alot to worry about. We do not have full information on the exact location the flood covered but the government definitely needs to intervene in this fast.
The flood is suspected to have taken place in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, the same area that that experienced flood last year. The downpour wrecked havoc on some streets of the town like Ilepa, Jubilee, Ese, Okorun, Semusemu, Okoja and Iku, among others last year.
The flood last year was attributed the development to the blockage of drainage channels in the town which did not allow free flow of water during the heavy rain. Last year, the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Yemi Olowolabi, said the government would take action on their matter, adding that the administration had started repair of roads across the 18 local government areas of the state.
He said,

“Definitely the government will act on the development. Ikare Akoko is one of the major towns in the state and such incident should not happen without any action from the government. This government has been doing everything possible to repair and reconstruct our roads. The issue of flooding will soon be a thing of the past. “
