Nigeria coach Austin Eguavoen will stand down as super eagles coach after three games in an interim capacity but says he has no immediate plans to apply for the job on a full time basis.
Eguavoen has been in temporary charge since swede Lars Lagerback turned down the chance to continue after the world cup and has led the eagles for three games.
With one victory and two defeats, Eguavoen said he deserves credit for what he has done so far.
"I deserve credit for stepping up when my country needed me, but like i keep saying, i will not apply for the job" Eguavoen said.
With the NFF crisis yet to be fully resolved, a coach may not be in place for the November 17 friendlies and Eguavoen says he remains open to lead the team if he's asked.
"Its my country and i cannot run away from it. If they ask me to do it, i cannot say no. And if they offer me the job, i cannot say no but i will not apply for it" he said
