In celebration of Eid El-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, the Federal Government has officially declared Tuesday, April 9, and Wednesday, April 10, 2024, as public holidays across Nigeria.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement issued on Sunday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Aishetu Ndayako.

As Muslims worldwide conclude their month-long fasting and prayers, the Federal Government extended its congratulations to the entire Muslim Ummah for their commitment and dedication during Ramadan.

Minister Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of upholding the values of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, and compassion, as demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).

"In the spirit of unity, the Minister urges all Nigerians to continue fostering harmony and working towards peace and oneness in our country," the statement read.

The Minister concluded by extending warm wishes to the Muslim Ummah for a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration, praying for the blessings and favor of Allah to be upon all citizens and the nation as a whole.
