Renowned Nigerian gospel artist, Chinyere Udoma, has taken to Instagram to express her grief after her music studio in Lagos state was engulfed in flames, resulting in substantial damage to equipment worth millions of naira.
The fire, reportedly sparked by faulty electrical wiring, completely devastated the studio, leaving behind a scene of ashes and destruction.
According to Udoma, she received the distressing news while en route to the airport, leaving her shocked upon arrival to witness the extent of the damage firsthand.
Expressing her frustration, the singer revealed that she had previously raised concerns about the inadequate wiring to the landlord, but no action was taken to address the issue.
Although the full extent of the financial loss remains unknown, Udoma conveyed her profound sadness for the setback and pledged to persevere through the challenging time.
In an emotional letter shared on her Instagram page, Udoma poured out her heart, describing the incident as a devastating blow to her and her team at CGVM Studios Lagos.
"It was a really tough Tuesday for us at @cgvmstudios Lagos. In just a few minutes, everything we’ve worked so hard for, worth hundreds of millions, was gone, consumed by flames," she wrote.
Struggling to articulate the depth of the loss, Udoma emphasized that despite the overwhelming setback, their resolve remains unshaken. She called for prayers and support from her followers, expressing determination to rebuild the studio stronger than before.
"This is a huge setback, but it hasn’t defeated us. Right now, more than ever, we need your prayers and support. Despite everything, we’re determined to rebuild from here, stronger and with our faith in each other and in the future intact," she concluded.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and highlights the resilience of individuals in the face of adversity.
