The special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, and co-ordinator of the Niger-Delta Amnesty programme, Mr. Kingsley Kuku has lauded the gains of the ongoing Niger Delta Amnesty Programme, saying the initiative remains the wisest step ever taken to save Nigeria Oil production. Media and Communication of the Amnesty Programme, Mr. Henry Ugbolu on thursday in Abuja stated that apart from the fact that the programme has helped to bring peace to the once troubled region, it has also helped the Country to save a whopping sum of N6trn from its inception.
Kuku noted that before the introduction of the amnesty programme, Nigerian Oil Production stood at 700,000bpd, but today, the Country's oil production stands at over 2.6mbpd. He stated that this development has helped in saving over 2.6million barrels of Oil daily which culminatively amounts to N6trn since the beginning of the programme.
